Agates, Ammonites, & So Much More! Fantastic Variety Rockhounding the Yellowstone River!

- In this one, we flashback to the last hunt we got on the Yellowstone before runoff! It was a fantastic day with amazing variety; agates, ammonites, baculites, jaspers, banded chert, agatized wood, and more all in a 3 hour time frame! After our hunt we head back to the shop to clean everything off and get some closeups! I hope you all enjoy and I will have another one out soon!
Make sure to remember that ammolite specimen and those Baculites, because you will be seeing them again soon *wink, wink*.
I am running a booth at the Billings, MT Gem and Mineral Show at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center August 3rd-6th, and am doing a Meet and Greet August 4th from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30! The banded chert kinda looks like a dragon head
Dude I always get skunked on morels 🤷🏻♂️ one time 3 years ago we found a bunch. They’re NOT easy to find! Bout time for chanterelles though and I can always spot them

These agates ar older than you think
(Im talking about a 2-3 billion years old)
And there is not mutch known about agates
(Like very little)

You had a phenomenal day out there then! Those are just gorgeous pet woods and jaspers and agates! Not to mention the fossils in the concretions! Just a fabulous day! My favorite find of the day, has to be that concretion you broke up towards the end of your time out there, with the rainbow scaphites and the clams! Those are going to prep so well and the rainbow iridescence on the shell just draws your attention right to them! And I can't help it I love fossils! Lol. But the rest of your finds were all pretty great too! Thanks for finally releasing that hunt video! It's time, well it's actually way past it's time, but definitely fun to watch regardless! Thanks Theo!
