I can here Cartman as the game publisher yelling at the game devs "make the main character a woman and black!" Then the devs being "but...the game is called Alan Wake" Then Cartman not caring, doubling down and saying to make her gehy too, lolol
Alan wake is still one of the main protagonists and drives all the story, the second character is there because he needs saving, that's why he writes her story to push her towards that aim, if just being black and female means woke to you, then actually watch the south park special again and realise they mock that perspective too. It's not like we have a ocean of black female leads being forced down our neck in gaming, that's movies and TV, and comics, and even az admits theres nothing particularly offensive or even bad about her character, he's bored by the game not her wokeness. I obviously like the game, I am about 7 hours in, I really do not get the hate, it seems too black pill cynical to me.
@@monkeymagic00001 Dude this game the main protag is literally a black woman, ha ha. Yeah sure, there's definitely not a conspiracy to do that on purpose. The writers didn't have to dig this hole that Alan needs to be saved by a strong independent black woman that don't need no man. They could've wrote it so that you play as Alan escaping on his own the whole time, but no, you can't have a straight white man be strong on his own anymore without a woman's help. You can continue to defend the modern day writing if you want. We won't see a change to good writing at that rate so long as people defend it. Imagine a game called Alan Wake where you don't play as Alan Wake for more than 2 hours 😄

When I watched your Alan Wake review I thought you might be over exaggerating (I thought, how could a game possibly be that bad?), but I avoided buying the game anyway. Now that I have watched this, I think you were being quite honest in your review and that your a mad man for continuing for another 13 odd hours after this...
AW1 to AW2 reminds me of Phantasmagoria to P: Puzzles of the Flesh. I love how he complains about handholding but when the game doesnt explain directly what to do next, he complains what do I do next. This video is as painful as a dsp playthough, complaining about everything.
It's not really about "handholding" every time I got stuck it was cuz I didn't realize that I had to explain something obvious to saga before the invisible wall went away. Worst version of this is when you're going to coffee land and someone literally just tells you where to go but the 2 finnish buddies won't move until you enter the mind place and explain to saga that you have to go where the guy JUST told you to go lol that game design is so awful that it's mind boggling to me.

Lol the game isn't very good sadly. Some of the writing is bafflingly bad, and having to explain things to saga that I already pieced together is painful. It's sad how dumbed down things have gotten for general audiences 😔
@@master-dukecuthbert5061 Ah ok, so you're just a boomer like the man-child in the video, got it. I don't think you know how games work or to be more specific game mechanics. I do look forward to seeing what he thinks later in the game.....it gets super weird, when the control aspects get more obvious.
The people in the first game actually sounded like real people, they were small town folk, and they actually spoke with emotion when something weird or scary happened.. These people? *witnesses the Sheriff dissapear and two deputies get murdered by a reanimated corpse* ‘Nightingale came back to life… how queer… Anyway...” It’s so shite..
dude they just saw a sheriff get poofed out of the existence in front of their eyes a corpse come back to life kill 2 deputies and poof away but these "people" sounded like they are reading a boring book they didn't even give a shit about those poor deputies that died.
The people in the first game were just as weird, and for the same reasons as they do in this game. They are being forced along by Alan Wakes writing, az even mentions that in this video, when he talks about them being odd in that game because of the fact he is a pulp writer and they all have a twin peaks vibe about them, there is nothing natural about they way they talk in the first one or twin peaks, there are reasons for people to not like the game that are legit fair, but there are too many people wanting to hate everything just for the sake of it right now, and that's how you lose the battle. Even south park see it, in the new special they don't just dig at the woke studios, they dig at people on our side too. Also, Alan wake is a atmospheric game, judging it on a live stream which stops and starts and has someone talking over it is a terrible way to experience it. No game is perfect, but this is as good as it needed to be for what it is. Anyone who did not expect a slow burn, and heavy narrative either never played the first one or has forgot how it goes along. Perfectly happy to be proven wrong, but I see people too black pilled by the real woke to just enjoy things or just say it's not their cup of tea.

And my last point, I do agree the mind place is a bit much, it's not in-depth enough to justify the amount of time you have to spend there.
