If you find a funny little rash on your torso, straight to doc for treatment, got to be taken within three days to prevent the worst symptoms.

@@johnnyjayzeboomboomroom9163 Hopefully thats as bad as it gets, there should be national health warnings so as to help people prevent the worst symptoms, I caught it early by accident so missed the worst but was still dreadful. Hope it clears up for you.

I'm very happy you had an easier experience where the virus sores appeared where you can see them, and that it wasn't terrible. This is unusual. Shingles is typically very very painful, and can sometimes take weeks or even months to recover. Shingles lives in your nerves, so the shingles sores can appear anywhere a nerve "ends." In your case it was your skin; some people get it in their eyes, brains, spinal cord, etc. It is a gamble. The next time you get it, you may not be so fortunate.
Everyone else, if you're over 50 and if you or a family member had chickenpox as a kid, get your Shingrix vaccine (it's a two-dose vaccine). Why would you risk going blind or being disabled?
