  • This video is far and away the longest that I've made on my trip so far, but when you see the breathtaking scenery of this landscape you might wonder how I managed to cut another 2 hours or so out of it.
While the hike itself is not particularly long, a little over 35km in distance, it is made a little difficult by the steep climbs, and the altitude, which ranges from 2,850 meters at Sigchos, where the hike generally starts. Down and then up to Isinlivi at 2,950. 3,200 at Chugchilan. And finally to 3,900 meters, 12,500', at the finale of the surreal, turquoise Quilotoa lake. An absolutely brilliant hike, certainly one of the best I have ever done and one not to be missed if you ever get to Ecuador.

I really love the forest, it is pretty calm, I can hear the birds singing the fresh air, the trees and I can enjoy the beauty of it when I go cycling. Greetings and nice video! ;)

Cheers Steve. Plan on being up in your neck of the woods in roughly 4-5 months - everything going to plan - LOL!

Life is a funny old thing. I am in a little bit of pain today; your comment lifted my spirit higher than you will ever know. The generosity of a kind word is hard to articulate. Many thanks.
