I had to stop in Mendoza to get the bike fixed, as the electrics as well as the chain were screwed up. So of course I went for a stroll in the town. And what did I find but an English Pub . . . When it came time to book my ticket, the dates I wanted were exorbitant to say the least, so I had to settle for further out. Not the greatest mistake I've ever made, as I'm really enjoying Argentina. On the flip side however, the hike, I've royally screwed myself. Still, I'll cross that bridge . . .

I lost a lot of weight in Peru, 2 1/2 stones, still trying to put it back on.
Was there any truth to what I read awhile back about Argentina's money devalued in your favor? How are the bugs, mosquitos?
It wasn't really a question of devaluation as such, they basically had an 'Official' Rate & a black market (read correct value) rate. What they've done, is give the tourists the real rate. Something like that anyway.

They certainly are. The Argentinians are truly wonderful.
Happy to see those people stopped for helping you to fix your bike! something similar happened to me with my bicycle, the chain broke, and the only alternative I had was walking all the way to my small town from the airport, luckily, some people took me to my town with a pickup truck and the next day I went to the mechanic, and he fixed my bicycle.
I have only met nice people on my trip through Latin America. It has been a privilege to meet them.
