Amazing aquascape as always. I love that you turned the aquarium around to attach the background when the front and back are basically the same.
Haahaha yeah I guess that was not needed 😂
I was thinking. maybe there is a logo of the aquarium manucture. But it was all clean.
@ yeah the logo is on the side 😁
I also thought that 😂
algae is natural. it's hard to call a tank a "nature" tank without a little algae. it looks great. so beautiful.
Honestly, even with some algae, it's incredible. For me, the best scape I've seen on the channel, and you have quite a few really good ones!. Congratulations!
There is no such thing as perfect. There is just right for you. The tank is gorgeous, algae and all.
I don’t think you need to worry about the scape not being good enough. 😂. Also those Crypts look amazing! Setting up a 60p myself, some great inspiration, thank you!
So nice to share the time lapse and the final tank months later...kudos!
Glad for the honesty re the algae issues, and what a great looking tank!
Another incredibly beautiful aquascape. Thank you for sharing your Classic ADA inspired nature aquarium and your honesty. I will admit there's something very comforting about knowing you are in love with a human who still struggles with algae from time to time. Your scapes inspire me and I look forward to the next one. It was adorable that you turned your brand new tank to put the background on. I hope it wasn't because you had already scratch that side of the aquarium.
Hi MJ,
thank you for all your exp sharing. Your "Dark Start" recommendation is the great solution for my aquarium.
for sure this is your best work until now! Looks very natural and fresh!
Looks beautiful mj such a stunning scape and beautiful fish seelection
Very beautiful tank and very humble words!!! This is very fascinating
Great video, thank you for sharing the good and the bad 😃 I'm passing it along to my local groups.
Simple terms, I am jealous MJ, stunning !
Another work of art takes me back to when George Farmer started to really highlight aquascaping spawning a generation of artists
Then MD turns up like Banksy 😂
This is an absolutely stunning aquascape. I do think you captured the ADA style perfectly! Very awesome fish as well! Keep up the amazing work as always! ❤❤❤
Love it!
This is gorgeous, my new fav
Finally! I´m glad (sorry) to hear about your hair algae issues... i´ve been struggling with this very same issue on a 120P in a similar style almost a year old now. I have proper Co2 levels, dual filter (Biomaster600) filled with matrix/purigen, dosing pump with lean dosing, etc. Nothing seems to fix it... if i lower the light intensity (2xVivid2 10thAE at 40%)) plants start to elongate and reach for more light, if i increase it (60-70%) i get tons of hair algae.... the only thing that seems to help is dosing liquid carbon daily. I hope you can do some more research on this and share your findings. Cheers!
u can find some crossocheilus oblongus, hair algae killer
I’m dealing with the same thing. I went through an aquarium slump for a whole year, almost to the point of burnout. Only recently have I started getting back into it with enjoyment.
P.S. I have 10 Crossocheilus Oblongus. This is not a solution to the problem. (My tank is 125 gallon)
@@Serge_g900 if you feed them to much, they will become lazy and refuse to eat algae, my dutch tank is ~500L and only need 4
Hats off to your hardscaping skills. That big piece of wood looked great after all. Glosso looks great in this, tough personally I don't like mixing leavy with grassy carpet plants anymore.
beautiful its amazing. really love it
Great setup.
Funny is that I have the same light (just with adjustable feet) on a UNS 60U (on setting 4/7) and have hair-algae as well...
Looks really beautiful.
Nice escape.. well done 👍
Beautiful tank, MJ ❤!
Really beautiful !
Never got to watch a vid this early I’m kinda excited!!
absolutely gorgeous layout ❤ it
Wow my new faworite aquarium
Great video… thank you! 🙏🏻
Love the videos! Keep it up :D
love this!! question: when is your final beginners guide video coming out with prices? really want to see what a good tank will set me back, ha!
This is one of the Mode beautiful aquascapes I hat ever seen!
Did you not give some amano shrimps into the aquarium?
Love the aquarium and sometimes you have to accept the algae as part of the nature aqaurium. Not sure if it helps for you or if you have already tried, but for me changing the water flow was key in getting rid of hair algae.
Nice aquascape
beautiful 🥰🥰
Nice tank again and as I'm restarting this hobby again, nice to see the similarities with my plan. Thanks for the complete beginners guide too, realy helpful!
Question: how did you reduce the waterflow of the Oase 600? You mentioned it was too big for the tank and I have the same issue here 🙂
we need update on the saltwater tanks [and maybe bigger saltwater build?]
The tank looks really beautiful! I feel weird being here so early only 3 hours after you uploaded😂
Beautiful scape! Are those ember tetras, they're so red!
Super 👌
Really nice scape MJ ! Is there any specific reason why you used neo revolver on the outlet ? I have the same volume tank but use only the standard neo outflow with skimmer, thought that more waterflow is better, can you explain ?
I'm using the NEO reliever because I'm using a biomaster 600 which is quite powerful for this size tank.
@@MJAquascaping I think i would use it too, I have aquael ultramax 1500 and sometimes with default outlet it moves the aquasoil on the oposite side. I though it would reduce the waterflow to much but if it works for you I will try it. Thank you !
I have this nano cube 20L that I fert with APT 3, but I need to daily complement with phosphate. It's crazy if I stop adding phosphate I get all kind of annoying algae, BBA, stonghorn and cladophora. Btw amazing tank, I honestly will try to reproduce it in my 60 p tank at some point this year.
Bro got a tank for every corner of the house 😂 awesome
I find I have the same problems in my 30cm cube. Too much light the algae grows, not enough light the foreground plants suffer. I wonder how ADA manage this balancing issue? Obviously the bulk of the nutrients is in the substrate, with minimal dosing. I also wonder if light positioning is important (height of the light, or multiple light bars).
Great looking scape!
Great job bud! Nature style is the best!
I'm using the same BioMaster² 600 Thermo...but I'm using 4 litres of Seachem Matrix and Purigen inside, only the prefilter has sponges...
At 9:06 it looks like you poured in a BBA together with the darios 😂
Yeah a gift from the shop 😂
Hi MJ,
That's a great job, indeed.
I wonder why you did not go for "dark start" for this scape?
Two reasons for that
1. The dennerle soil is not crazy rich in nutrients
2. The wood that I used doesn't grow mold/fungus or releases tannins.
Beautiful set up. I've got persistent hair algae in one of my tanks. I can't seem to get rid of it. I've had to accept it
have you tried using a small brush by carefully twirling it around the brush you can reduce hair algae by 70% within 2-4 weeks
I think strawberry rasboras would look awesome in this tank @MJ Aquascaping here where I live Petsmart has them
Yeah they would be perfect in here!
@@MJAquascaping That's a really nice aqua scape you created well explained and done really well.
is that narrow leaf java fern the large plant in the middle by the end? and did that grow that much or did u plant more of it? thanks, love this look
Amazing aquascape, Can you list what fish you have in there please
Black tiger darios
Sparkling gouramis
Ember tetras
Ruby tetras
Otocinclus
Can you make a dirt tank and show that progress 😊
I’ve got a different brand in line co2 diffuser that looks identical to the one you used, but I swear the instructions have it set in the opposite orientation. I’ll have to double check when I get home
Interesting! Let me know :)
@@MJAquascaping ive got the quanvee brand one sold by buce plant and they are not as similar as I first thought. It does install with the co2 input side on the opposite side of the Chihiros model(top side) but that’s how buce shows it. Just seems counterintuitive because the diffuser material sits under the co2 input side
Dream tank! How did you reduce the flow from the big filter?
With that circular attachment on the outflow 😊
Is it much work to get the plants small enough for that tank size?
I dont know about ADA but it sure looks like an MJ tank :))
in japan, they call it ryoboku style
beautiful tank! How are the Sparkling G's and Tigers getting along?
Very well! Although the gouramis are always out and about, but the tigers are always hiding
I have this two part question I wanted to ask you. If you have a 5 or 6 inch stem plant. How much would you use to plant it. I mean, would you cut it to smaller lengths or plant the whole thing. Secondly is tissue culture pots better than stem cuttings in pots.
I would cut the stems in half and plant both the top and the bottom portion.
TC is not necessarily better, usually the quantity is higher and you don’t get any pest snails from TC
do you remove those cryptocoryne's side shoots? or you replant them?
Adding the CO2 directly to the outflow is new to me. *mindblown* 🤯
Hi MJ, you said in the video that you used biomaster 600 and that the flow was too much for your tank and that you would explain how to reduce the flow, but I couldn't see it in the video. I have the same situation. Can you tell me how I can reduce the flow?
Also, does using an inline diffuser instead of a normal diffuser reduce the co2 fog cloud in the aquarium?
yeah I could have explained it better. It's the outflow that I'm using, it has a circular attachment on the end which reduces the flow.
And no and inline diffuser actually makes the ''fog'' even worse. But the bubbles are a lot smaller, so in a way they are less visible.
Which root tabs did you use?
The tank may be ADA style but it definitely gives MJ vibes.👍
I‘ve been to the „ADA Lab“ in Tokyo and their tanks had plenty of hair algae. Don‘t be so hard on yourself. Try reducing the phosphates. I know that can help. (You might have to get a potassium nitrate fertiliser instead of an NPK)
edit: fixed my sentecnes. english is hard LOL
I want start aquascape but i realize in my country soil and any equipment for Aquascpe is expensive. Maybe someday when i rich i will make this aquascape😊
Which suction cups are you using on the Aquario neo ?
Hey, such a beautiful tank! What are the benefits of using inline diffusion or is it purely for aesthetics?
Aesthetics + better CO2 distribution
Which root tabs did you use? And the tank may be ADA style but it definitely gives MJ vibes.👍
Root tabs from Dennerle :)
Bravo from Romania Dracula land 😂
ever thinking of making another salt water reef tank? just started my 30 gallon one and i was watching your vids for inspo. I also wanted to ask, can i add a soft coral before my tank is fully cycled?
Definitely got a few more reef projects coming! And yes I think you can add soft corals before the tank is fully cycled.
Did you do a dark start method. Is dark start method really necessary and what is the minimum period 4 or 6 weeks
@George-qk6hg from my experience in aqua scaping Yes the dark start method is generally considered a good technique for setting up a planted tank, as it allows beneficial bacteria to establish in the filter and substrate without the risk of algae blooms during the tanks initial cycling process can take 4-6 weeks but it all depends on your tank size and what's in it. Minimizing the need for frequent water changes and providing more flexibility in aqua scaping making it time saving and a efficient way to start a new tank.
Did you try upping the NO3 in the tank? I have a similar issue going on in a similar tank but measure almost no NO3, only 1 ppm. I've ordered some Masterline Nitrate and will be adding that to my tank in the hope to eliminate the algae. If that doesn't work, i don't know what to do anymore.
Hmm I don’t have a nitrate fertiliser at the moment, but I might give that a try
@MJAquascaping i don't know if it's going to be the solution but for me it's my last resort. Just like you i think i've tried it all, more ferts, more co2, more light, less ferts, co2 and light. Reading in to the topic it might be caused due to too low nitrates so might al well try it.
Hello MJ can you help me with the light? Do you prefer Twinstar or Chihiros? What's the best in your opinion?
Both are great, I think it just depends on your personal taste. Chihiros is a bit more saturated with colours, and twinstar is more natural.
I do prefer the chihiros app over the twinstar remote
Thanks! @@MJAquascaping
Just curious, if you already have aqua soil, do you still have to put root tabs? I noticed that you did that in your video and wondered why.
No not needed, but I like to add a lot of nutrients to my substrate :)
Ah got it! Thanks for replying :)
Can you share the total cost of this project?
I have a problem with my plant's. They turning black ⚫️ :-( ... What can i do to bring them green again
Waar koop je de vloeistof voor de bellenteller? Er zit geen water in zo te zien.
Ik gebruik Glycerine! Kun je bij de drogist vinden :)
I would be afraid somone smashes the door into it. But great scape
Don't shrimps eat those hair algae?
Usually yeah, but my amano shrimp were not really doing much it seemed...
Wat deed je door je kraanwater heen?
Ik gebruik osmose water, dus ik voeg wat mineralen toe
@MJAquascaping welke mineralen zijn dat?
@ APT Sky
@@MJAquascaping dank je wel
Ah yes, I love an American Disabilities Act inspired fish tank
🤣
Nice work ! I hope your algae is not cladophora because it looks like it. That was my nightmare during my 2 first years as an aquascaper. If this is it, DON'T use plants and tools from this tank too an other. Bleach everything even the filter and start again.
I think that cabinet is nice but way overpriced, i have my 60cm (scaper90 SF) aquariums on Juwel Lido cabinets. 599euro vs 110euro. The rest i do not cheap out on, such as light, filter, Co2, substrate, plants. Because that are things that actually matter in my opinion.
Yeah juwel cabinets are great!
Why don't you allow it to be translated into Serbian?
Didn't know I had viewers from Serbia 😀 I will add it to the list!
Silly you. You're just being humble
Why don't you need to credit your videos with music? Aren't you afraid of being copyrighted or turning off RUclips's monetization?
I'm paying for the music :)
@@MJAquascaping how can you pay it. I need your answer, because i also work video on youtube. thank you
Firstttt
I have read, the « barley straw extract » from microb lift, is good to prevent filamentous algae in ponds. Maybe it’s a natural solution for aquariums to.
