- WITH SOUND now, except for about a minute in between, where I had to turn the sound off due to copyright reasons (otherwise RUclips would turn off the whole clip's sound...). I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Great documentary but the sound went off during the home movies after she left the movie industry.
Thank you Tallulah for this gem - I LOVE CLARA
I could not agree more !!
That is sweet she loved animals.
When a person loves animals. that's proof that they have a wonderfully caring heart !! ❤
Well the character that was based on her in movie Babylon wasn't good to animals. Looked what happened to that snake 😁
Fascinating, thank you. 👌💕
Indeed !!
Joan Crawford was a social climber, that is not shocking. Similar backgrounds. But to shun Clara was unmentionable. She was doomed by a male dominated system that enjoyed the money she made for a studio, but discarded when she had served her purpose.
Clara did it her way. In todays Hollywood there are actresses that do stupid stuff. Nothings changed.
That's for sure !!
I did not know she quit films so young.
What the hell is a spending orgy?Im sure that term hasnt been used since.
That means that Clara supposedly spent a lot money for a lot of things that she liked, dummy! 😠😠😠😠😠
Sadly , talkies were the doom of many silent stars.
Greta knew less english and she made more money at MGM for MGM the biggest studio so yea. She got more time.
How sad
Audio disappears at 11:43.
Yes it does. I had to mute that part for a few seconds, otherwise RUclips would delete the whole clip.
jsmyers24151 I liked the silence and the photos
What was copyrighted? the music or something they were talking about? It feels like we are missing part of the story dealing with her family life during retirement before the mental illness and political stuff started to get in the way of her happiness.
No, we just temporarily went back to silent films.
Could you at least add a summary of the content that is missing so we can appreciate her life and struggles more fully? It's a great doc, and missing any of it is a disappointment! Thanks so much for posting it...
Cute kids
...she was a Leo...
...that's from a Taurus...
I don’t know if any of the other guys were failing her, they were doing what she was doing and just going 20’s crazy and partying and so on. Her story is interesting, the ‘ feminist parable’ guy really reduces the quality of the documentary for me. Cut that guy and we’re golden.
"Call her savage" was a success but I didn't like this movie particularly. I prefer her playing other roles .
Where's the last episode? Are you just a weasel?
That's a bit harsh, but where IS the closing episode? We all know the story.... and God help those that don't. You can't leave her legacy out there like that, not without giving the inspiration to carry it forth... because she matters. Not just as a Feminist Icon, but as a girl who got leveled a shit life, she dreamed big and achieved magnificent things. Because, despite where she was born, she had talent, a good soul, God knows that was taken advantage of, but to deny her the credit due, why even bother?

For the magazine in the 20s to lump lesbianism in with bestiality, incest, orgies, etc., is bad enough, but for the biographer to recount the "accusations" as if lesbianism indeed belongs in the same category as the others is ugly, sad and reprehensible.
No way is he doing that. He is simply stating what she was accused of by the magazine with no slant of his own added; it does become tedious when nobody can ever just state historical facts without being forced to add a disclaimer like 'in our more enlightened times we now know that attitudes back then were wrong and I wish to make it clear I disapprove of the sentiments expressed'.
Fantasy Heckler HEAR, HEAR! =D
