Apparently French sounds funny to people who don't speak it. I've noticed that trend. What they're saying is usually pretty straightforward commentary; if anything, more straightforward than typical North American commentary. If you want funny commentary, Spain is where you should look.

His recovery options are terrible.
Kirby literally has one of the best specials in the game (inhale). His down special is quite good since it's a strong ledge guard with little danger. His up special is terrible because it can be easily punished just by countering. It forces 2 types of recoveries (directly below or above).
Trust me, it's bad.
@@jadduck I respect your opinion, but in my opinion his really only good specials are inhale and final cutter. His recovery options are good though, his jumps providing with both horizontal and vertical distance with the final cutter providing vertical to end it off. also, his down special is really only good above ledge, and the final cutter, just land on the ledge with it. plus, literally what’s the chances of versing a person with a counter. (sorry if I’m sounding rude tho)
@@justsomesharkwithinterneta7081 Kirby is so light which makes his jumps very slow and floaty. They're easy to ledge guard because you can literally just swat them away.
You can still counter his final cutter at the ledge, just like you can Chrom's. You can also punish it with an up smash if you time it right.
The chances? Quite high, considering a lot of characters have counters.
Kirby's recovery options limit him, which makes him much easier to ledge guard because he only has really 3 options when off stage. Recover above (which involves jumping high above the ledge to avoid any attacks, making this very predictable), recover below (harder to punish, but you can still easily stage spike him when he tries to recover low) OR float to the ledge (easy to punish because of how slow his aerial movement is).
Down special has its uses, but is very punishable when used on stage. Really, it should only be used near the ledge when trying to ledge guard or recover. For example, it is one of the only moves which can challenge and win against opponents that have recoveries with hitboxes (KRool, Samus, Cloud, Bayonetta, Terry etc.). It's not a good move, but it's not terrible and useless (like you insinuated).
In all, Kirby's recovery options are very limited and if the opponent has played a competent Kirby before (likely) then they will know how to counteract all of his recovery options. Kirby's options are all very linear, in the sense that you can't really change any of them up to ward off suspecting opponents. This is his biggest weakness as a character because, combined with his weight, means that most of the stocks lost against opponents are a result of ledge guarding.
@@jadduck true. I’m not a Kirby main so I don’t know much about him. Also, I didn’t say his down special was useless. it’s a very good recovery move IMO, and can also hit away opponents, but it’s really good with above the ledge, and while final cutter is pretty good below but not too good since it’s pretty easy to edge guard with projectiles like pits arrow for me. but, as you said, yes Kirby is very floaty and can be easily edgeguarded since he’s so light, but at the same time he could also just try to hit back with his down special since you can cancel that move. sorry I don’t make sense, I’m not a Kirby main.
