I’ve been waiting to hear Tracey’s take on the Russian manicure. There is sooo much incorrect info out there. I wish there was more education on it - it is not aggressive. I recently started doing Russian manis on myself but I use the efile only *not scissors* I only remove dry skin. To me a Russian mani is all about more prep and more time to paint perfectly. Polish is applied precisely so I get it’s not for every one. It takes FORVER but every manicure literally looks like perfection and it lasts longer!! I use cuticle oil everyday so my cuticles are always in good shape and don’t look like the sad before pics you typically see. Anyway, It’s a literal game changer for me. 💕💜

In Russian manicure we cut dry cuticle which we pushed from nail, we don’t cut skin, (maybe accidentally when you have small experience it’s can happen)))and then we make it nice and clean with machine) it’s all safe cuz we care a lot about cleaning our equipment. We clean all the equipment according to sanitary standards) like doctors)))

The music gets me. Thank goodness I scroll Instagram with the volume off, because I have a kid at home. If you want to use that kind of music, great. But create a business account and a personal account. Keep the business account professional. It’s not too difficult to maintain two accounts.

The question of music was a great subject! I’m a nanny and sometimes the kids like to watch nail shorts or tictoks with me and if it has inappropriate words or music…I turn it off.

I’m a beginner nail tech in Ohio , and I’m confused between renting a booth or working in commission base,
I went to interview for both places , the environment in renting booth is so professional and clean and for commission place it was so cramped noisy and felt little unprofessional. I still can’t make decisions for which direction should I go , I’ve seen ur video about renting and working for someone else , but tbh I’m little drawn towards renting my station cz I really appreciate a clean and professional place

I do my own nails 💅🏼 DIYer. I only use lotions and oils in my cuticles and hand, but never never done any trim or anything…and i have never pushed back my cuticles. They are flawless all day everyday. Yes…i am a Unicorn 🦄- when it comes to cuticles/ nails. I am also heavy handed.

These Q&S videos are always very helpful. I must say unfortunately Russian manicures are the standard in my country so clients ask for that and they are disappointed if they don't see smooth and "naked" cuticle area (it seems they want to see their blood as they ask me to go deeper and I must refuse some crazy requests). I have also a question: do you think that adding another beauty service to nails, such as eyelash extensions or pmu, it could be a plus? Or is it better to focus only on one service? Thank you for your time and for sharing your experience and knowledge with us ❤

If you are able to offer more services, it can be a way to generate more income or bring in more clientele. However, if you try to do too many different things and you never perfect any of the services, this can have a reverse affect. Make sure you are well trained and skilled with the services you offer.

@@youngnailsinc Thank you so much for answering me! That's true, I was thinking about eyelash laminations, which is a simple treatment, because nail techs are growing up like mushrooms in my neighborhood having very low prices and quite good skills so I was thinking adding something new to be more competitive without lowering my prices. Probably it makes more sense employing the time I don't have clients to practice more improving what I can do with nails.
