We must add motorcycles because until we test motorcycles we cannot know whether or not it will improve the game. It could potentially cause some chaotic experiences in the dungeon, but this is what early access is for, gathering data and testing new features.

I love Dark and Darker, and despite all of its flaws, it is and will likely always be my favorite game. Even though my party has taken a hiatus from the dungeons, and admittedly, the game has gotten a bit stale, it is still my game. I am equally excited and terrified for DaD’s future, but I also have my hopes high, because no matter what, we will hold the line!
Every game I’ve played with seasonal wipes, players get restless near the end of wipe and start focusing on the negatives. People force themselves to play even though they’re bored and that leads to frustration. I’m just praying they don’t delay the end of season this time 🙏

Here's an idea I reckon could be good Game mode: Arena Main features for what we will call "High Roller Arena" - In Arena 16 players queue up - There is no gear score cap but there is a entrance fee and that is based off your gear score. e.g, you're above 250 gearscore you have to pay 150g if you're below you pay 50gp (ONLY HR Arena) - Over 8 modules, 2 players spawn on either side. The door unlocks when 2 players over 2 connected modules are both dead (meaning you can advance to the next opponent) - the game is essentially survive 4 rounds and then win 2400gp (given everyone put in 150g) - Gear is lost upon death in this mode which can be retrieved by other players but gear the winning player cannot fit can pay a 50g fee to send a "Courier Goblin" back up to the surface and stash the gear. If you don't have space the courier just sells it at merchant price. You could have an entire 1v1 leaderboard dedicated to most kills, best kdr. I think a mode like this would enable the solo players to really lean into that 1v1 mode which I love. You could add so much and this kinda removes Sniping from the game from players using Uniques and dialed in kits Game Mode: Deathmatch A sandbox mode where you can bring in any kit and not lose it upon death Spawn timers to 45 seconds and you could have 4v4 modes where whoever kills the other team first wins Solo mode But yeah, we need Arena bad! More pvp and less teaming, if we can have repeat multiple quick fights, this game could have Overwatch pvp sort of feeling, trying to control a point sort of vibe which I think could really explode the player base.
i agree with the points about rust and oil rig and the guarantee of good loot in locations driving pvp and more reason to go to locations on the map. i would like to see more like this in dark and darker. id even enjoy seeing unique weapons drop slightly more commonly so more players can experience them and so the market isnt controlled with uniques and skull keys at unattainable rmt prices
It's a false equivalency. In the rust comparison, the oil rig is limited and time gated among the entire population of the server. Only 1 group of people will get each one every time it spawns. In DnD, there are a thousand+ games all going on simultaneously. If you made it to where golden chests was guaranteed good loot, you'd be putting a thousand+ of those items in to the market every 15 minutes. Alternatively, every map should have an open gold pile like ice caves does. That would be a better solution to the issue being discussed.

ironmace is not a very big studio as far as I understand or am I wrong? it's crazy to expect the same amount of budget that riot games, blizzard etc would have. and I think they are doing pretty well considering they probably don't have all that many ressources. thank you for talking about this! people don't see how much work it is to make a game. and it's not like they aren't doing anything they got a new class and a new map coming up just let them take their time to polish everything up. it takes a while to stuff out all the little unintended cracks in the walls where a rat could go through😅

Joined a DarknDarker discord with 300 other players back in september with die hard players who were grinding everyday. That same discord now has 30 people total. I believe the constant balance changing of the game week after week ruined the experience for a lot of people who started playing early

Failed promises, a lack of consistency, test server is something you have to buy into while most companies would be thankful people would test things for them or even PAY employees to test things instead. Map design with ice caves disappointed hardcore pvpers due to mob density and mechanics that slow/kill you and force you out of dungeon while hardcore PVE types are facing cheaters that spawn rush you. The cheaters are wardens, been caught and forgiven MULTIPLE TIMES (example Dytch) and many or friends of them are still in positions of power. Multi-class made a lot of people quit, player numbers going down and wipes are really long. The game has been excused for a year+ being "early access" and people's patience and forgiveness isn't infinite. Frankly speaking ironmace needs to get their act together in some ways and most of the community feels that way even if they can't articulate why. Most players loved the game and want to see it succeed but it's not the same fun game we played on playtest 2 or 3 anymore. Metas have developed and made range and ranger vs stale, some classes have been just outright broken and frustrating to deal with for a long time(cough warlock cough) and I think... promising druid back in december and the ice wyvren around then too has left people disappointed at the lack of tangible progress. I am hoping they are saving content or have more done for their epic/steam release and that they are taking it serious because if they don't have more than what they've so far shown and done, they're not looking good as devs anymore to many of us. I do love the concept but I got a lot of complaints about the game which I think have made it frustrating. They are making good changes and heading in the right direction but the progress is SLOW, like real slow. You can't be taking a year's worth of time before realizing add weapon damage on every piece and all+3 stats on every piece is a bad idea. You can't be splitting the playerbase in like 10 different queues before realizing that's a bad idea and will result in dead lobbies. Many regions have lost so many players they aren't even playable anymore, SEA for example is just empty and lost all it's players when in the past they had a large community. They can't afford to be as experimental as they are or if they want to be, they need to hire game testers or open test servers rather than bleeding players and frustrating everyone. --- sorry for the long message but I hope this explains SOME of the frustrations and complaints that have been ignored for awhile now.

One of the big reasons I quit is because every update is legitimately broken, as in EVERY SINGLE update in the last 6 months has had some massive dupe or game breaking bug and then the servers get taken down 2 or 3 times in a row and some times there's a roll-back and all that progress is lost and some times there isn't a roll back and people have duped like crazy destroying the economy and competitiveness of anyone who wasn't cheating like crazy. Then those people enjoy those benefits for 4-6+ months because the wipes are so long and progress is so slow. It feels really bad that almost every time I play the servers could randomly go down for 6+ hours, and then either there's a rollback (which I prefer tbh) or the economy is destroyed and I run into people with crazy gear I can't compete with. They have a test server for a reason they have only used once or twice. They need to ONLY update on a set schedule and announce the updates in advance instead of "in 30 minutes". It's very amateurish and inconsistent.

i work a lot so im more of a casual player myself. Ive yet to run into any Cheaters. I play high-roller Just Enough to get pathfinder. just like last wipe. I guess all im saying is that besides the lack of skill i have almost no complaints. I think Multi-class Was FOR SURE BROKEN. Made me not want to play for a Little bit. The fact that in 8 months they are giving out updates is just what they are paid to do. The game started as a playtest. What would they be doing if not adding stuff in a work in progress game? I understand that you found your place in D&D, but devs are really just doing the bare minimum. The game has an high price, so they MUST give out content, otherwise having us paying 35$ to 50$ is unexplained.

I love your positive attitude but there is one thing I really can't abide and that's the cheaters and toxic community. The official discord while it may not be a priority is a mess of people blatantly cheating, blatantly stream sniping and half the wardens are the ones doing it. It's just shocking and baffling why iron mace leaves these people in a position of power, it took so much to remove dytch but his friends who cheated with him are left in places of power? I know SDF said he believes in second, third or even fourth or fifth chances and wants to see the good in people but the community does not have infinite patience for this garbage and personally speaking no amount of positive outlook can just overcome that. They have a responsibility to do better and moderate their community at least enough that the public VC isn't nothing but people saying racial slurs, homophobic statements and telling each other who is streaming to team and cheat on. It does not take much to have a few decent mods that can actively be around to check the VC and stomp this behaviour out. Right now some moderators WILL come if you report and ask them to come but more often than not it's the wild west with no rules at all. I think this game should have some better community leaders that foster a better environment and we don't need to be forgiving toxic horrible people anymore. As it stands with wardens, it's an elitist club who play with cheaters and have a history of awful behaviour and only the public face of text chat is moderated while behind the scenes and VC is an absolute shameless display of the worst our community has to offer.

And if it does go away, Ive played it for 1.7k hours, My 50$ was well spent. It was fun while it lasted. Didn't feel scammed whatsoever. I just had a solid ass fun for most of it.

i work a lot so im more of a casual player myself. Ive yet to run into any Cheaters. I play high-roller Just Enough to get pathfinder. just like last wipe. I guess all im saying is that besides the lack of skill i have almost no complaints. I think Multi-class Was FOR SURE BROKEN. Made me not want to play for a Little bit. The worst part about this game is 100% the community unfortunatly.. Nothing but crying and complaining, balance this, give me more content waaaaaaaah; even though we have gotten thousands of hours of extremely fun gameplay for $35.. Thank you Iron mace for the amazing game and I love it!

I could not agree with you more, of course the game is not perfect, but its amazing, everyone just talking negatively about it wont help anyone (not saying constructive criticism is not needed), just scare new players from trying the game. The game was improved so much from even when i started to play (end of last wipe), i cant believe it. Servers work a lot better, map rotation is awsome, most balance changes go in the correct direction (except maybe cleric)... I love DND
i think ppl forget how 6 months ago the game was completely unplayable at least right now the game feels the most balanced it’s ever been, yeah there’s still a couple things that can be worked on but people forget where we were not that long ago.

The fact that in 8 months they are giving out updates is just what they are paid to do. The game started as a playtest. What would they be doing if not adding stuff in a work in progress game? I understand that you found your place in D&D, but devs are really just doing the bare minimum. The game has an high price, so they MUST give out content, otherwise having us paying 35$ to 50$ is unexplained.

in my opinion the marketplace is the worst thing they have added to the game because its just so easy to make a BIS kit that pretty much everyone is running around with perfect stat rolls on gear i miss when putting a good kit together actually meant something and not every team was wearing full BIS gear now looting geared players isnt even exciting cus every team is geared
That's a good take, but on the positive side you can gear up in 5 mins instead of 2 hours

I love your positive attitude but there is one thing I really can't abide and that's the cheaters and toxic community. The official discord while it may not be a priority is a mess of people blatantly cheating, blatantly stream sniping and half the wardens are the ones doing it. It's just shocking and baffling why iron mace leaves these people in a position of power, it took so much to remove dytch but his friends who cheated with him are left in places of power? I know SDF said he believes in second, third or even fourth or fifth chances and wants to see the good in people but the community does not have infinite patience for this garbage and personally speaking no amount of positive outlook can just overcome that. They have a responsibility to do better and moderate their community at least enough that the public VC isn't nothing but people saying racial slurs, homophobic statements and telling each other who is streaming to team and cheat on. It does not take much to have a few decent mods that can actively be around to check the VC and stomp this behaviour out. Right now some moderators WILL come if you report and ask them to come but more often than not it's the wild west with no rules at all. I think this game should have some better community leaders that foster a better environment and we don't need to be forgiving toxic horrible people anymore. As it stands with wardens, it's an elitist club who play with cheaters and have a history of awful behaviour and only the public face of text chat is moderated while behind the scenes and VC is an absolute shameless display of the worst our community has to offer.

@@JimSimFtw That is definitely how it feels sometimes. It took a lot to have dytch removed and I think at this point we should look at just cleaning house and at the very least taking away mod powers from people who play with cheaters.

Most games don’t get updates for months, dark and darker gets an update every week. Last week is the only week they got a break.
