    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад +1

      @@trollgeneral6624 oh boy... all different kinds :) Most are older bulb projectors that originally might have cost several thousand dollars but can now be found at auctions or marketplace for around $20. Most my projectors are 2000 to 3500 lumens and nearly all have 1024x768 resolution. For my larger projections I don't use resolutions less that that and I would use better resolution projectors like 1080p but those people want and are still in demand so are hundreds of dollars and not $20. The 1024x768 projectors nobody wants (besides people like us!) so they can be found pretty darn cheap so that's what I go with!

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  4 года назад

      No, I use mostly older bulb projectors that are very bright and decent quality (1024x768). With these older projectors I use a $8 HDMI to VGA adapter then about a $30 media player like this... www.amazon.com/dp/B00MVRC9AO/ref=sspa_dk_hqp_detail_aax_0?psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyWEJLMDVUS0pQS1lCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTUyNjA4MkdOSUdWVzgySlkwQyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTA3OTk0MUdTNFY1SlhMTUVWTSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2hxcF9zaGFyZWQmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

      They are a lot more expensive now. Maybe because they are an older model and they have a more current one readily available? I'd check to see if you can find it cheaper because I didn't pay this much :)

    where do you set your projectors for the boo crew ghosts and did you use 3 projectors for that?

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад

      The projectors go in front of the ghosts. How far away depends on your projector and zoom level but it's usually about 15 feet. The file has all three ghosts so it's just one projector. You just have to space out the props correctly so the ghosts line up on them :)

    LOve what you have done. I have some Atmosfx stuff. Are running all the audio for each prop at the same time and a speaker at each prop? Your props look to be far enough away to not interfere

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  2 года назад

      Yes! I run audio for each prop and while you can hear other audio while standing looking at a prop, the other audio is far enough away it doesn't interfere with the audio of the prop you are near. Works great :)

    Hello love your set up! Do you mind sharing what you used for the 3D forms of the ghosts. Did you build your own form or did you use some sort of inflatable? I know atmos sells a 3d inflatable but as I want to do the 3 ghosts I’m trying to find a bit more of an affordable option lol

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад +1

      I did build my own forms :) If you look at my other videos, I made a guide on how to build your own 3DFX form with the proper proportions. For the example in the video, it was for the old witch so it wasn't very tall. For the ghosts I made the forms about 6' tall so all you need to do is modify the height. Also, make the base wider than I did for the witch... that form blows over if the wind picks up :)

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад +1

      I use several different kinds but they all have one thing in common... old cheap bulb type projectors I typically paid around $20 for :) These are usually projectors that originally cost $2,000 to $10,000 but because they aren't HDMI, nobody wants them and they can be had for around $20 or so. They are between 2,000 to 3,500 lumens and all have 1024x768 resolution. If you can get at least 1,700 lumens and 1024x768 resolution your projections will look like mine. As for hiding them... I really haven't yet. I put them in plastic deck boxes that I show in another video on my channel. Other's have built boxes that look like tombstones. I'll eventually do that. :)

      @@BrentFranker that’s awesome your whole set up is just amazing how long did it take you? Also for the projectors to window set up how are you transmitting the audio. If you have speakers outside is there some kind of transmitter that allows Bluetooth from speaker to projector?

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад +1

      @@thexavianfamily7584 Thank you! Since I don't leave my stuff setup, I setup all the outdoor projections each night I do it... which is why I typically only do it twice a year. :) It does take me a while to set everything up because I do have to wait until it's mostly dark before I can do the setup so I can see the menus! I do transmit audio outside for my window projections. It just isn't the same without audio and I view audio as a must have... which also greatly increases the time setup takes and the number of cables and extension cords! The first year, I ran like 30' or so RCA patch cables out my door to powered speakers outside. That sucked so I drilled holes in my wall under each window and installed RCA jacks on the inside and then a mini headphone jack on the outside, in an combo electrical outlet box, that I can just plug into my powered computer speakers with subwoofer. That works great because now I don't have wires running through my door that people are going in and out of all night... usually have a big Halloween party too :) Thanks again!

    Could you possibly do some sort of tutorial where you explain how the projectors are all set up? I bought the projector, Sprite Media player, and Atmos FX Boo Crew, Witching Hour, and Jack o' Lantern Jamboree but can't figure out how to set it all up to go off at different times from different projectors. Thanks!

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад +1

      Hello! Oh, I don't synchronize any of my projectors. That gets involved with video editing and either just pushing "play" on everything at the same time or using small computers like Raspberry Pi computers to sync everything. For all my stuff, I just play the videos and each area of my yard is a separate themed area... everything is done independently and not reliant on anything else :)

    • @emk3485
      @emk3485 3 года назад +1

      Brent Franker Okay gotcha! I was trying to make it more like a “show” that played the different parts in different areas at different times. I’m new at this so I thought it wouldn’t be that difficult.

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад

      @@emk3485 well, I don't do that myself but do follow people who do and it can be made real difficult or not too difficult :) The difficult way, but better of course, is having everything running off small computers. The easier way is if you want say 5 different projections going to create 5 video files in a video editor and just time everything within each individual video file to where if you hit PLAY at, for example, 10 second intervals on each player, then everything is sync'd up. That just requires so fairly simple video editing so wouldn't be very hard!

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  6 лет назад +1

      I never kept track but not as much as you might think because I only use cheap used projectors that I pick up on eBay or local school auctions. I spend under $50 for the projectors and often only around $30 each. People don't want them because they aren't high def (I stick with at least 1024x768) so you can pick them up cheap! The files are expensive when you have as many as I do but you can start out with a couple collections and it isn't too bad :) Thanks!!!

  • @TheBlueBaron

    If I may ask, which kinds of projectors did you use, and how do you get them for under $50 on ebay?

    • @BrentFranker
      @BrentFranker  3 года назад

      All different kinds but they're all at least 1024x768 resolution and most have around 2,000 lumens. Some 3,500 but most the ones you see have between 2,000 and 3,000. These are old projectors without HDMI so nobody wants them. Most were around $2,000 to $10,000 when new but, because no HDMI, nobody sees a use for them but as you can see, these old REAL bulb projectors work great for these projections!
      I use media players, connected to HDMI to VGA adapters then run a VGA cable between to the projector. Allows me to use $30 small media players to play all my stuff. Works great. Also, keep an eye on local school auctions. I've probably bought 20 projectors from the local school auction averaging like $12 each I'd say. I've gotten so many projectors for around $20 each that if a bulb goes out (and one never has yet on me because I only run them for less than a week a year usually LOL) I've always said I'll just grab another projector. Hahaha!
