So dumb question but do you need other software or can this go straight on to the embroidery machine ?

You'll need software such as Sew Art for digitizing your own files (if you want) and Sew What Pro to edit designs.

lot of machines have basic soft ware free to create fonts if not i think thats why you buy sew what pro
