Hi Stellar Artifacts! Amilcar Fong here, one of the artists behind this guy. Thanks for such awesome review man! Thanks also for metioning me. I want to share some info or cool info that might be of some interest for you and your followers. The drill thing at the tip of the tongue , as you well said, is not part of the movie lore. It came from one of the alien variations not used in the movie that H.R. Giger did for the original film. On the other hand, the battle damaged head, the one without the dome, what you see where the carapace have been removed, those tubular things are a type of fungus that got him infected. According to the Alien lore, those areas should be showing a brain structure, but instead of that he has those tubular things that resembles somehow the easthetic of the entire bio mechanoid Giger gave to the alien design. Beneath the tail you will see a structure that is secreating some liquid , it some sort of " anal" structure funtion. I figure the tubes from the back were designed biologicaly for liberating gas. But that structure beneath the base of the tail is for secreating liquid. In front of the base, you will see facehugger dead, and sort of rotten. Also from the back view you will se an egg that have been there for a wile and is also rooten. I think this is the only statue out there that shows what happen with the egg once it doesnt have the facehugger inside. Hope you like this info and thanks again for a great review. Best!

Nice Review. Personally i dont like the Color Scheme of the Alien itself at all sadly .. maybe when the lights are out and you use custom spot rgb lighting it will look better. I do think that the Pose + Base (The Facehuggers look insane) is one of the Best if not the Best for me out of all Alien Statues. Aamazing Piece though 👌👍
Congratulations man. I’m glad you posted a review. Mine will be shipping soon from specfiction. I really wanted to know the measurements. How much do you think it weighs? Will a besta ikea shelf support the weight? Also how many boxes does it come in?
Was worried paint wouldn't live up to proto just like the first one. Have black coming and still trying to decide to pay off. If my Predato was ready to ship from Sideshow I'd just finish it. Proto paint looked way better and really brought out the details on it. So nice to finally see in hand review. Sculpt is awesome but paint is let down. They should of made it the tone of the head at least. Like comparing prime 1 1/4 jungle hunter to the 1/3 . Just lackluster.
Glad to offer an oversight to those interested in the piece. I don't have any major complaints about the paint on this brown version but perhaps it doesn't match the prototype. Maybe you'll enjoy your black variant better.
@Stellar Artifacts Like I saying definitely nice to see a review finally lol. Spec has had brown in stock least 3 weeks or so now. Think why this didn't sell out on preorder. Crazy cool piece just their paint lacks. Go back and watch their store pieces and they look so much better. So want to put it next to my original Xm piece and the 1/3 big chap. Love the size of them. Just let down on paint.
yeah, I can see the tone of the head sculpt is a slightly darker brown than the body. Overall I'm happy with it however. Many of the Prime 1 Alien bases have a bigger footprint. When I was looking at what was out there I chose this piece to satisfy my Alien itch. I like the Prime 1 Big Chap however. Maybe something else I can look closely at and consider.
@Stellar Artifacts As long as your happy that's all that matters. Your money. I almost bought both colors. But went with jungle hunter. Kinda why it bugs me.
I believe that the dog Alien from Alien 3 was brown. But aside from that this particular statue is not a representation from the movies. It's a somewhat artistic interpretation or artistic liberty taken on a xenomorph or adapted from H.R. Giger's art. Also, there were many Alien stories from Dark Horse Comics. So many different interpretations artistically. On a side note, there is a black version of this particular statue that XM comics released in tandem with this one.

Yeah, I think brown highlights the details on the sculpt best as this was XM's initial choice.

I wondered the same thing but it's only one box. It's layered into two layers in the styrofoam however.

Very very cool, but it's massive!
The footprint on the base isn't horrible in comparison to other Alien pieces. 14.5" by 14.5". But it is bigger than what I normally collect.

I like it, but where aliens ever brown? I thought they were black. Prime1studios have black ones.
