Thank you for the tour. My direct ancestor, John Wilcocks was listed on the online at the very end of the video. He was a follower of Thomas Hooker and a member of the Connecticut Colony. I have no idea where he's buried in there... I was there once (from Ohio) in 2001 but it was closed. I hope to get back one day.
Jeri, thank you so much for watching the tour! It always blesses me when I get personal messages from relatives of burial grounds I visit. I'm sorry I don't live closer to that cemetery (I'm way south in Virginia), otherwise I'd drop back in there and find his stone for you. That was a tour of opportunity when I was driving up to Maine to visit my family. ~Jason
@@ExploringHistoryTogether please tell your wife thank you for the detour. I have ancestral roots in Virginia as well. I definitely have to watch more and see what history you have to tell. Thank you again so much!
@@Glenda-LiveandLove I am always up for a challenge if you know of a place closer to my home that I could visit... possibly to help you find a family member, and take some pictures. I also have no problem whatsoever driving a few hours, if I can make enough time to do a single day trip. I'm in northern Virginia... the Manassas & Bull Run battlefields are all around me.
Oh my. In the back ground and a few others are my ancestors. Seymour. Watson and Fish you spoke of some. Webster you didn’t show any. Well except at the end on the founders monument. Up higher from John Webster is another Richard Seymour. Thank you so much or this exploration of the burying grounds. Tears of joy over came myself. Now I know that if I plan a trip (from Oklahoma) that I in fact will see their names. Thank you. ❤
@glendac6334 You made my day with this comment! Last year when I was planning a trip up to Maine to scatter my mom's ashes, I told my wife I really wanted to make a detour to video in this specific graveyard. Thankfully she obliged me on this one. This is a truly amazing cemetery, and contains SO MUCH history. Today it's nowhere near as large as it once was, but if I'd had the time, I still could have spent 2-3 days in here just perusing the stones. Thank you for watching, and feel free to look through my many other videos to see if something appeals to you! ~Jason
Great choice of music! I love the overall red-tone of that location. But where is your trademark hat? Joking aside, thank you for taking us along on your vacation time!

Haha! It was super windy, and I was carrying my camera case in my normally “free” hand. Didn’t want to lose the hat!
