For anyone who wants to learn about what reheat is. I suggest the whole video. Very informative, I like this professor.

So a C-D nozzle essentially uses the pressure while its available to propel gases of the exhaust to a jet, after the reheat process, correct?

basically what it does is increase the velocity to supersonic speed, just remember this as its quiet complex and depends on match no. and various other factors. what I can help is to summarise.
in a normal nozzle, velocity is increased and pressure is dropped(converging)
but in CD nozzle, if the match no. is >1 , then output speed is in supersonic and the speed at throat(there m=1)
SO a cd nozzle is used because only because of that the output can be in supersonic, also remember in cd nozzle, if mach no. is

CD nozzle increases the speed to mach>1, so as to create way more momrntum thrust.
Consider the area mach relation for cd nozzle.
For Mach >1, velocity increases with crosssectional area, which is counter intuitive to continuity equation, pertaining to Mach

Why a CD nozzle is used? Why cant be a simple convergent nozzle can be used, in that case also the velocity of output will be high than input.. all that we want.. so why a CD?

Remember that it is because of the mach no of the flow coming. At subsonic speeds nozzle is of converging shape which accelerates the flow and makes the flow to choke at the throat now mach no is 1 at the throat. Now for a supersonic flow u cant use a converging nozzle anymore u have to go for diverging nozzle, and now since we have diverging nozzle it further acclerates the flow to higher velocity. U can't imagine supersonic without a CD Nozzle.

I suggest you to learn about area-mach relationship , then you will easily get why do we need convergent nozzle and why sometimes convergent divergent nozzle...
