Did you ever read any of the American Girl historical books? I think you styling outfits based off of those historical characters would be so fascinating! I got Molly vibes from the 40’s-50’s dress you were rocking.
Hi, I am new subscriber. I just saw one of your vids about romanticising life and I thought how I used to view my life that way. Right now I am going thru so much pain and one of your videos helped me think and ponder that life is still beautiful after all these shits I am going thru now. Thank you so much for inspiring me and waking up that little girl who used to think that everything is wonderful. I hope you continue to inspire people like me with your inspirational videos. And bdw, I like your clothes, they look so pretty ♥️

I got the most gorgeous skirt fom a little thrift store in my town for only ten dollars!! Also if you know how to sew, you can make your own! Just get a few yards of fabric at your local craft store, get a dress pattern and sew it!! I d it all the time!
@@lunaroseartz9126 wow you sew together a whole dress! my auntie sews and i got a sewing machine and I know how to hand sew, but it looks so hard to measure it all out and make it! wow
When buying new from shops it can be quite expensive. Especially the aesthetic/ specialty shops. And not everything sold on Etsy is one of a kind or handmade. (I’ve seen items off Amazon resold on Etsy at a premium 💵) I often thrift in person or search for specific items on online secondhand platforms. The ease of finding specific items in my size sometimes makes it worth the extra cost. It comes down to if I am at a stage in life where my time or my money is more limited. Also the urgency I feel to have a specific piece dictates how I acquire it. Ross (American discount outlet store) has a lot of women’s clothing that can pass for CottageCore Even worse than the price, a lot of CottageCore shops aren’t size inclusive. (A huge barrier for me)
Oh Desi , I absolutely love your video’s !!! You are sooooo adorable !!!! Love your high spirit !!! Love the way you act out the classic books !!! I was the same way !!! Your like a kindred spirit to me!!! Thank you ! Keep those video’s coming sweetie !!! PS : I love your book recommendations , we have the same taste so I always know I’m going to enjoy the books !❤️

Desi is LITERALLY my spirit animal. She loves all the same things as me and every new video I watch I love her character even more. She’s such an inspiration for me!!
I had to go thrifting last week for a suit for an interview. I found an unexpected gem. Amongst the clothes I found my dream fall/winter cottage core dress. It was one of my best scores! I love thrifting as everything has a hidden story we can only imagine that we take on our journey. Also who doesn’t love helping the planet 🌎 by buying used. Can’t wait to see your finds. On with the show! 🍂👗 🌼 (After video) You look so adorable in all the outfits. I’m even more inspired to sew some pieces!
Oh my gosh that’s amazing!! I absolutely love when that happens. Stumbling upon something absolutely perfect when you’re not even looking for it 👌🏻 And I totally agree, if more people prioritized are least trying to find items at the thrift store, we’d be one more step in the right direction of helping the planet 🧡 Plus there are so many good hidden gems ☺️
I am IN LOVE with your videos! Please don’t stop! I’d love to see a home tour, your makeup routine, and more recipes! ❤️ Lots of love from sunny (rainy today) South Carolina.

Shein was one of the first sites I got into to! Now I'm trying to buy more ethically/used, but I'm really glad shein existed to help me realize 1. I can dress like my childhood dreams without paying hundreds of bucks or constantly ironing 2. other sites and stores exist that sell gorgeous dresses too. Thank you so much!! I posted a hair video in December that includes how I dye my hair, do my heatless curls, and some of my favorite hairstyles! I’ll probably do another hairstyles video when Spring arrives ☺️
I really like the style bloggers Rachel Maksy and Loepsie here on youtube and Rebecca from the blog A Clothes Horse, but I'm not otherwise very familiar with style bloggers or communities. I'm glad I've gotten into them because I've found so many lovely things as a result of hanging out on their pages and they also have great personalities. I was already sort of into what cottagecore is i suppose but in social media terms I'm entirely out of the loop; I still don't have tiktok or anything like that where these terms proliferate! I get so excited whenever i find a new content creator i love. Over the last... woof, several years, i've been moving away from buying inexpensive pieces and towards saving up to buy more versatile and costlier pieces, but it really is such a journey; it doesn't happen as often but i still end up with pieces i don't love, or which i outgrow, and so on. But I think I've done a wonderful job of learning more of my personal style so that happens less and less often. I think I'm trying to move towards buying separates that i can pair with each other over buying dresses, because it's harder to adhere to an overall theme in color, inspiration or tone with multiple dresses. I'm trying to adhere to a color palette, which is really tough - I don't feel like the colors i love are very fashionable right now, for one thing - but it's been rewarding. I like your personal style a lot and think the pinafore dresses are especially adorable on you! I wish you the best of luck saving up to get the linen clothing of your dreams. I only have a few pieces of linen clothing - nearly all of it from Son de Flor; I really want to shop at Cotton Candy Wear and Little Women Atelier but it's really hard to choose when everything is made to order and you could wear literally ANY color and have to make the decision for yourself! - but it really is the most versatile, comfortable fabric in the world. So breathable in heat, but it holds in warmth wonderfully in the wintertime; I can wear linen clothing over thermal tops and fleece-lined tights and be pretty comfortable! Whoever runs the Son de Flor instagram page is my idol. Their captions and messages are always so cheery. When they had a sale prior to Christmas they did a little caption like, "Make sure you take care of yourself first and don't rush to buy anything just because there is a sale; our items will still be here after the sale!" and it was just so unusual and sweet; they are one of the only brands i've ever seen acknowledge that their clothing is expensive for the average person. They are really pragmatic and compassionate... I just find almost everything they post inspirational because they acknowledge hardships in life and strive to find joy, comfort and beauty in the every day. As far as brands go i'm really happy to support them.
If anyone is interested, I just saw Hot Topic has put out a couple Outlander inspired outfits. The dress is very pretty (more cottage core) and I think the skirt/cardigan is more dark academia.
