Cyprus has an amazing and rich history - you should read about it!

Hey, Rod keep on having fun.. ... I am still "grounded" waiting for GPU prices to come back to earth or see if I can pick up a great deal on a used GTX 1080 Ti.
So I am basically getting my weekly "DCS Fix" by watching your videos and others.. lol. Cheers.

Cyprus is actually a pretty interesting island. Surprised you never heard of it. Work on that ;) It's interesting because the northern part of the island has been invaded by Turkey in 1974 and created the republic of northern cyprus, only recognised by Turkey. There is a demilitarised zone on the island. Look for the city of Varosha, which is now a ghost town, along with it's abandoned hotels. Cyprus is quite interesting to get to know

I've heard of Cyprus, I'm just not all that familiar with the region, landmarks, etc.

How fast were you going when it rolled? I ran into what I suspect was retreating blade stall at 182 knots, in a dive. Recovery was attained by reducing the collective and slowing below 182+-.

Yes 100%. That is Retreating Blade Stall very nicely modeled at about 350 Km/h give or take depending on altitude etc.. You can notice the speedometer increase to 350 just as the rolling started..

Hey Rod, just started thinking about something & wanted to see if this is the same Rod White. Did you go to the big electronic gaming expo (can’t think of the name E3?) with a guy that was a fellow simmer back in the early 90’s? It was in Las Vegas and it was when Apache Longbow and the Microprose sims were huge. Chuck Yeager and Bud Anderson we’re there? Just wondering if this is the same guy, sure sounds like it…

Yupper that was 1999 actually. Bud Anderson was there. I covered sims in the 90s and early 2000s for various online and in print magazines back then too

@@rodwhite5274 I knew that was you. Yeah it was LA! It’s been a long time. We had a pretty good time! When I saw the name it didn’t hit me right away until I heard your voice. So good to see your still up to your old stuff, just a little different. I’m now 100% disabled. In 2001 I had to have a spine fusion fm when I broke it in the Coast Guard. Never got better!! Pain 24/7 every day! Just had a spine stimulator implant surgery & hopefully that’ll be the ticket to less pain!!! I fly DCS laying down in the bed with my HOTAS and TrackIR! Thank God for that or I probably wouldn’t be able to. Is there a email or website I can go to and send you my email and contact info? It’d be good to catch up!!!

@@ricbish sorry to hear that, but I’m also glad you’re still finding a way to enjoy sims! What’s your real name? I’m still trying to remember who you are, but my memory sucks anymore so I’m not surprised I can’t remember lol

@@rodwhite5274 it’s Eric Bishop. I know it’s been a long time. Man I think we used to fly Falcon over the modems back then! At those blazing speeds of 14.4kps! Too funny.

  • @SDsc0rch

I've bought several modules - only flew some a couple times
    several never even once!
does anyone know if we can "gift" modules to someone else??
