I'm a Deputy Sheriff, my agency participated in No Shave November 2018, all the money raised went to Make A Wish. Possibly my favorite charity, for moments like this. You couldn't wipe the smile off their faces, that's what it is all about. The PC by the way is beautiful, Ice Cold...
Thank you for your service Deputy. My grandfather was a deputy and he was killed in a car accident when my mom was 12 and I never got the chance to meet him. I truly appreciate everything you do and I always will. God bless you sir.
It's a tossup between make a wish, who i like their idea and their charity as a whole, and the wounded warrior program, which I have personally been on the receiving end of.

I got diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in March of last year. I had the opportunity to receive a wish from my grantees at Utah Make A Wish, and decided ultimately after my original wish got cancelled due to COVID-19 Travel Restrictions. I then changed my wish to build a PC. I began watching Jay build PCs in preparation for me to build mine, just so I knew what to do. I never knew he supported a cause extremely similar to mine! This blew my mind.
I hope whatever shit you went through and still are gets better man. I've lived depression and nearly ending it all but there was light at the end of the rainbow. It will be there however far it seems away. Gl man

StayTrueRegardless 619 me too man. Don’t realize how easy and great most of us have it.
As a person living with such diagnoses for life (yes, plural), trust me when I say: It really doesn't make any difference to me whatsoever. Such statements makes you feel good, it doesn't make us feel good though. It's better if you show it by acting, not just by saying.
What impacts our lives, us who lives with such illnesses, whether it's chronic or temporary, are laws designed to make our lives easier, and research into how to cure it.
Support these two causes, and you won't need to make such feel-good posts for yourself. Trust me, it helps WAY more than strangers saying hollow words on the interwebs or in coffee shops or work places or whatever.
Also, the people in the US and many other countries needs to get a handle on general healthcare for all. It's disgusting how monetized that stuff is in some places. Luckily, I live in a country which pays that stuff for me and the many others with any of my lifelong diagnoses (2 big diagnoses, 2 medium, and then some minor stuff).
It's funny though, one of the things I've been diagnosed with lowers my health quality and life expectancy. Yet I've had so many days where even that shortened amount of time alive feels too long.
I hope you understand now why hollow platitudes are kinda meaningless in the grand scheme of things. If you truly wish to help, then do your part to make changes happen, as suggested in this post.
(PS: The reason charging civilians and not governments for healthcare is bad, is not just that it puts many civilians in crazy debt; it also excludes the people who can't afford it and can't get a loan for it which in turn leads to those people eventually dying from treatable diseases simply because they couldn't pay to be treated. Not to mention the crazy brutal regulations for sick leave/paternal and/or maternal leave/sick pension and so on, that exists in many countries (like the US).
And let's not forget health insurance costs, which should be a lot more regulated in many places, and what happens when some people can't afford it in such places.)
Joppi1992 I didn’t comment this to please you, and I could careless about your opinion. It was a simple comment that crossed my mind and you wrote a book for a reply... congrats and I hope you have a nice day.
@@staytrueregardless6196 Shows how much you care, and what you truly wrote it for. Hope you get to join the club one day, seems like you could really use it.
(Also, just a little tidbit: I was trying to avoid generalizing as much as possible, and since I fit the qualifications I used myself as a living example of what it actually means to people you were directing that platitude towards. I guess that went over your head though. Would it have been easier for you if I had kept it to "us" and "we" instead?)
Joppi1992 you’re fucking weird go away

When I was 5 I got diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. As a kid I had no idea what was going on. Then I suddenly started going to a treatment that I had no clue what was for until I got told everything by my parents. I’m 14 now so this was is about 2008-2009. I was very lucky to only have it for one year and I made it out cancer free. Anytime I hear a story or anything about cancer it really hits home. It makes me feel terrible for the people who go through this since I only experienced not even half of what some of these other people experience. Anyways if you are suffering from cancer and you are reading this, know that everyone will do everything they can to help you and that everyone will be there for you.
