This whole performance was heartbreaking, but the pain in Chris's voice at the end, singing, "I don't hate that I need you," is what really sold me, and brought me to tears. Absolutely heartwrenching.
From the first time i listened to the original, that was the line that got me. Being able to get past anger, and regret, and to the point of saying "I don't hate that I need you" takes a certain amount of self realization and strength. While the rest of the lyrics are absolutely beautiful, it was that line that made me love this song.

I couldn't help but cry to this, it reminds me of a guy I knew back when I was in highschool....he didn't die or anything, but it's just how close we were, just he got me and I got him and we were inseparable...he was the bestest friend I could have ever asked for, but someone else came into his life, and she convinced him I was trying to manipulate him into being with me, and that wasn't the truth, I wanted him happy, I didn't care if we were dating or whatever his company was enough for me. But what made him drop me like a bad habit was when she tried starting a fight with me in the girls locker room, and I told her how I felt about her and that I was going to tell him what she was doing to me, and to a friend of his who she was fooling around with while with him...and well he believed her over me....and that was the end, and I still can't trust people fully, it's been over 6 years and it still breaks my heart.

If the first version touched your soul, this one is not even said. It couldn't have sounded better on acoustic version. What a beautiful song, it makes your skin crawl just by listening to it, it transmits too many emotions, it has that melancholic touch that wrinkles your heart. The two songs, both the original and the acoustic version, are works of art ❤.
