What an incredible and stunning location! And clip of the ARABIAN ORYX at 0:52 was absolutely beautiful! That clip captures just how majestic those creatures really are. They really are the "unicorns" of Arabia. It's SUCH a shame that they have been hunted for their horns over the years.
This is true it was supposed to be somewhere in the Indian Ocean but had to go to Guatemala after the tsunami the season probably wouldn’t have been as brutal as Guatemala was
A different location could actually totally affect the gameplay or outcome of the game. First of all, the challenges would have been WAY different-- resulting in a different boot order. For example, Kathy might have gone pre-merge if Rotu lost the first challenge. Kathy going out early causes the post-swap Rotu (esp. John Carroll) to play tighter. So then they get rid of Sean Rector or Boston Rob instead of Gabe post-swap. (Not to mention the swap could have been totally different given the capricious reason players chose to stand on which tiles when swapping.) In addition, the immunity wins would have been different because of different challenges to work with the geography of the area. Also-- Don't forget--some castaways are very reactionary. If different "first impressions" are made on day 1 in the alternate universe of Survivor: Arabia, it could totally shift the resultant game. Think back to Africa. Diane, the first boot, rubbed people the wrong way during the long, tedious hike to their Boma/camp. If the Boran tribe hadn't had that long hike to assess that Diane was a bit annoying an instead there was no hike at all, perhaps she would have gone a lot farther..... And so let's look at the S4 first boot. Peter Harkey, let's pretend he has this BIG phobia of bugs. Now Marquesas is notorious for having the worst bug bites in Survivor history. Let's say hypothetically his fear of bugs was a huge reason he got so anxious the 1st three days and played an indirect role in his being the 1st person voted off. Well, in the Wadi Rum in Jordan there aren't as many bugs let's say. Perhaps Peter then would not be as anxious the first few days and has longer time to make a good first impression. Maybe Peter goes a lot further. So my point is we could have easily seen a different winner if S4 played in a different location. I'd say that (besides Vecepia)--- Boston Rob, Sean Rector, John Carroll, Tammy, the General, Paschal, and Gina were all capable of winning such an early season of Survivor.
Jeffcoaster Not to be your Debbie downer but that isn't really Arabic music. If you're wanting to make an Arabia intro you may want to use something more Arabic influenced music than that. Good work otherwise. Btw, piece of trivia knowledge if others didn't know was that after Survivor Africa and pre 9-11 the next destination was supposed to be in Jordan that year. However due to volatility in the region, Season 4 was shifted to Marquesas. That definitely would've been interesting to watch and see how the dynamics would've changed. Loved your analysis of the changes and speculations better than the intro tbh! Definitely think Vecepia would not have won that season. Probably a Boston Rob or Sean. Or one of the other 4 (Tammy or Zoey) bcs i believe the 4 still would've allied. Personally, I would've loved Kathy as a winner.
I remember Jeff Probst stating somewhere once a few months back (2014-2015 or so) that the Marquesas season was going to be shot in Jordan (which may still be in the Arabia area somewhere), but Probst stated an actual country.
This is the same location that Fox's "Celebrity Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" was filmed at nearly 20 years later, meaning that a Survivor: Arabia could now be theoretically possible.
That & Guatemala was originally supposed to be on the Indian ocean in Madagascar or Sri Lanka but was scrapped do to the tsunami, south Pacific was supposed to be Tonga but was scrapped due to economic reasons
@@tiagocardoso2897 Guatemala was brutal. The heat, the humidity, the fact they couldn't go in the water, the remoteness, plus the challenges were brutal, especially that first one.
That eagle early on was from Toncatins, right? . (i'm sick. I know too much) Where on earth did you get this desert footage? This is an amazing idea. It's like seeing the survivor that never was.
+Jim Beam Jim! :D Hey so actually I got it all just from documentaries I found on RUclips of Wadi Rum or Arabia or a couple of times I looked for documentaries of certain animals you'd find in the deserts of Jordan (of course not all of the shots are taken in Wadi Rum of those animals). The one you saw of the eagle at the beginning was a documentary on the Egyptian Eagle. Even though it's "Egyptian" apparently there are a good amount of them in Jordan.
Jeffcoaster DAMN! I was positive I had seen that eagle before. Must have been a different eagle. Anyway, that's your best video yet. I didn't think something like that was possible but you managed to completely transform a season from the south pacific into the desert. Pretty cool.

Where do you get the fonts? Like how do you get to look so much like the real one on the show!? Also you should do these newer intros for all the seasons with only 1 scene of the players and then their photos. So basically (1-14)(16)
Yeah Jordan is a country in the Middle East right above Saudi Arabia After 9/11we discovered that many of the Hijackers were from Saudi Arabia as well as Egypt, Lebanon, and the UAE all close to Jordan which would’ve been dangerous for the players. This is why we weren’t able to send the season 4 cast to Jordan unfortunately because it would’ve been a cool landscape to film in
Even if Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan don’t necessairly have terrorist threats. Now I guess they don’t do it bc profiling the entire Middle East is a thing. In terms of safety of casts they filmed in Kenya during season 3 were it was illegal to be gay and Brandon was there (he was gay). Both Lebanon and Jordan currently do not have that issue. In 2019 for the most part it is completely safe to film there.
I'd prefer Survivor India. Arabia sounds too harsh of a land for the contestants. Kenya was hard enough from s3. Unless by Arabia it's the Mediterranean coast (rather than inland desert) which would be very pretty.
+Ernie Definitely fan made! :) Gathered all the scenery shots from documentaries on Wadi Rum and other parts of the Middle East and from a few animal documentaries as well. I remixed a couple different Ancient Voices by sc15fan2. You should check out his page too!
Survivor Arabia sounds awesome! Hope the world is a better place some day, and this can be a reality. Great job.
@Gabinator25 Hopefully Jeff and the crew get sick of Fiji someday and find a different location. I'm sick of islands ever since Worlds Apart.

It sounds like they're saying Gina's name when it shows her.
Wow! Bravo job! I had no idea that they were going to film Survivor in Arabia.
0:11 Even the song is shouting GINA!
Maybe that means Gina would have won idk
Survivor 11 was decided to shoot in southern india first. Because of the tsunami they had to change the Location to guatemala
Wow I never knew that
This is true it was supposed to be somewhere in the Indian Ocean but had to go to Guatemala after the tsunami the season probably wouldn’t have been as brutal as Guatemala was
This is so cool!! Great work!!
I wander if had they done it in Arabia, if Vecepia still would have won.
Well probably, I don't see how location could affect gameplay

Kathy would have won marques as if it was a final 3 or if she was in the final 2
The only difference the whole season is that Sean hurts his private area riding a camel instead of a horse
And Kathy pees on John after he gets stung by a scorpion, not a sea urchin.
I love your use of the "Zoe deepthroating a Snickers bar" soundtrack moan at the start of the piece!

r5t6y12 Yes, it was. Survivor Arabia was going to be shot in Jordan.
Yes, it was going to be filmed in Jordan near an oasis.
No in wadi rum near the Petra
This intro looks amazing! Great work Jeffcoaster and keep it up!

don't think they gonna survive the heat during the day and the coldness during the night....
Would beat Koah Rong as the worst conditions. But apparently Marquesas was also bad because of all the bug bites cast and crew got from that location
CJ Valdez Jeff said in an interview that Marquesas was the harshest conditions to film in.
@@rykerirontooth Guatemala was so bad half of the crew quit before the ending of filming
1. Africa
2. Guatemala

This is sooooo good

I don’t think they would have gone to marquesas at all marquesas was a back up location

I also think that at the time if they aired something even remotely relating to the Middle East or being Muslim the show would’ve been hated so yeah.
Yeah that would not have looked good at that time the backlash they would get would have been unbelievable
I love it

Really? I knew that they had choosen Arabia as a location, but having 3 desert locations in-a-row, isn't too much?
I mean they've been using the same set of Fiji islands for seven (soon to be eight) seasons in a row
