I'm currently working as a remote Virtual Assistant for an IT company. They've been so friendly and patient with me that I'm interested in going further with the company and learning more about IT. I asked to get more training to help with tickets and always asked my co-workers if they needed help with anything.
I've only worked in restaurants and bars and Hotels since I was 17 and thought I would be doing that forever.
I never thought I'd be working in IT with some brilliant peeps who value me and laugh at my dorky jokes.
And watching your videos are definitely something I look forward to, and I am learning a ton of new information with each video you post.

in 2011 the economy was in a decline. i have had a computer since the commodore bvic 20, i was in 7th grade when schools used apple2c and i have played the original oregon trail on a floppy and made programs in dos. i have worked construction my whole life but i decided to do something useful during the time so I went back to school and computers seemed a easy degree, and itr was so i continued on got my bachelors degree and started looking around, went to a few interviews and as I entered thier office I just knew that It wasnt going to happen, couldnt do it, there was no sun beating on my back,no fresh air. i would never work inside. another thing I learned years also that they didnt teach me anything in college. . i guess it might be liuke everything else, you can learn the data but comprehension just comes after time and experience. good luck in finding yourself and maintaining a balance

I was listening to a talk by Jim O'Gorman from offsec. He said he didn't want to work in computer stuff earlier on because he felt it would ruin his passion for them.. It doesn't have to be that way but lets face it, oftentimes the workplace you end up in doesn't facilitate enjoying your job even if you love the job itself. In the those situations maybe the dream job is in fact the job you hate? Who wants to identify with their work anyways? People are so much more than just what they do for money.

13:17 you mentioned about asking how a level 2 would approach the issue and fix it to learn it for the next time. When I had my internship at a big company they didn't have time for those things and they always said there is work for you to do. I were really into learning new things but they only set me to work and not learned me a lot.
What can I do instead for my next intern if this happens? I mean at my internship, I did not learn a lot since the IT was understaffed and the workload was high, if they didn't have me as an intern making many work from home sets at the helpdesk they would not have been done since the helpdesk already had a lot of work.

Dream job is anything not code grinding all day and working remote. Sadly, it took the rona to finally have the company I work at to allow us to work remote.

The best dream job is in your next room. Being a father. There is nothing in the world that can beat that. And yeah your nails are gonna be painted many more times :)

What's your DREAM job? Teck, but I can't remember how to spell my own name sometimes. I'm very good at fixing computers ( and building them ) and talking to people about most tech. From what I see, comprehension has a big part to play, moving into your world would be so good but I can't. Bummer.

What would you recommend to a novice IT security auditor? I am currently preparing for CISA certification, but what is the next step? CCNA?
