A great way to have quick at hand, is threaded needles, that I poke into a small lamp shade on a lamp that I keep on a corner of my desk, so when I am done with the needle I just reach up and poke it back into the lamp shade; it stays where I put it, easy to spot for the next time I need it; or that color of thread. I can make the shade turn around to select what I need. So go thrifting to pick up a lamp that fits you, and put it to work on your table. It will make life so much easier; thread needles of different sizes, and thickness, and they will be ready to go! Its a real time saver, you will wonder why you did not think of it earlier. Also, a lazy Susan spin tray in the middle of a big table, that can have divider bins, short or tall for all kinds of tools, or just glue together tin cans, that you can use for scissors, glues, etc.
Fast and effective way to sharpen those sissors; take three sheets of foil, layer them and fold and fold and fold to create a strip; the length wise, then cut very thin strips with the scissors; the metal to foil metal will sharpen the blades and not damage the scissors; you will be amazed.
