Is it just me or do you seem even happier since you're doing RUclips full-time? You are my favourite US RUclipsr. Although I follow from Scotland, we are not too far off zone wise. I am in an 8B zone. Apart from your amazing new plans for your garden this year, what are you most excited about growing? And, if you could only sow one flower, what would it be?
I forgot what you said in the Q&A video. I saw that it was so sunny and bright where you are and thought to myself "What the heck? How is it so sunny where he's at, it's supposed to be raining?" Then I remembered what you said. 🤣🤪 I also happen to be growing dahlia's from seed this year. This is my first time. I hope there's some pretty ones in there.
Those plants look fantastic! Can’t wait to see them grow. I need to try Dusty Miller, can’t do foxglove as one of pups will eat our plants 🤷♀️ I’m about to start 3 different types of gomphrena this week! Tx Gulf Coast, z9b. We actually had the Fireworks gomphrena overwinter this year! Through the SNOW we had 2 weeks ago! Today we will be in the low 80’s! Maybe I’ll try a couple of dahlias.
When I start items from seed, I put the regular potting soil in the bottom, and then only use approximately a fourth of an inch of seed starting mix. The seeds get to germinate in the seed starting mix, and as the roots go down they are growing into the potting mix.
Thank you for the reminder that this year I was hoping to try my hand at starting a few flowers in my garden. The veggie garden will soon be surrounded by flower beds and I always forget to start flower seeds this time of year.
The exception to your just plant more seeds is if your buying pelleted seeds, pelleted seeds do have an expiration date because of the coating they use, I BELIEVE it dries the seeds out. ❄️⛄️💚🙃 OOPS you just explained that my bad. That’s the problem with being an old fart, you have to say it BEFORE you forget it. 🤭❄️⛄️💚🙃
I love dahlias but my growing season is short in Michigan that I don’t get to enjoy them for long. It takes to long for them to bloom I’d rather grow something that blooms earlier. I’ll enjoy yours! 🌼🐝
Hi Robbie. Great video. Your transplants look great! Two questions. Did you find your hose reel attached to the fence was weakening the fence post at all(or were you worried it would?) also how much is the foxfarm potting soil in your area? It’s super pricey here in San Antonio but I love it. Good luck with your gomphrena. I’m going to try starting some soon too.
I just KNOW the dahlias you’re going to be thinning out will be THE one or ones that would have grown the big full blooms for you and you’ll be left with only singles. 🥺❄️⛄️💚🙃
??? Hey Robbie, your foxglove’ will they bloom this year or next year??? Something I didn’t realize, I bought coral colored foxglove seeds from a BBS grew the plant last year in the ground it did great but it never bloomed, and all winter the plant has survived (kind of like daisies do in our area outside in zone 6b) then I read somewhere that it’s just like a mother plant and they bloom the second year….. So I was wondering are all foxglove seeds like that??? Thanks!! ❤ PS- IM A LEFTY TOO! are you a Scorpio by chance…. 🤭
My family is going to Va. in June for my granddaughters graduation, I’m going to be starting some dahlia seeds and no one will be here to take care of them SO I’m thinking about taking them with me, two dogs and a flat or two of seedlings. I drive down because of the dogs and hubby and daughter fly down because hubby HATES driving through the mountains. NOT fair I know because it’s a twelve hour drive with two dogs, the things we do for love. ❄️⛄️💚🙃 Anyone reading this BEWARE in June of an old fart, a really old fart driving down the interstate with two dogs ! ❄️⛄️💚🙃

Not just you! Definitely you can hear it in his voice! And the glimmer in his eyes!
WHOA! The seedlings look great! Can't wait to see them grow once they're transplanted in the garden.
Hi Robbie, you could always use a finishing nail to reattach the metal corners to your beds. Probably would be cheaper that way.
Are those the ones that basically disappear?
@ yes , they have a very small head and u can get in different lengths.
Hey Robbie why not put a small screw or finishing nail after reapplying liquid nail
Robbie save the $ and screw those medal corners to your bed! Easy peasy ❤
Robbie, your seedlings look fabulous. Good job.
I love seed starting too! Except with the neat Boot Strap supplies! Way to go!
It’s a perfect time to start more seeds, with all the rain on its way. Your flower garden is going to be gorgeous.
I am giving up on Miracle Grow. I bought an 8qt bag and sifted out more than 5 cups of sticks, rocks and other debris. Love watching your videos.

Did he say, "Tub-a-ware"?! 😂 I'm officially calling it that from now on!!!!!❤😂❤
Beautiful babies and catchy tune. Five star video guys!

🌹🌺🥀🌻🌼🌷Thanks Robbie!!! Looks like we might only get another half-inch of rain this week. Ugh.
I have dusty Miller that has come back every year in my zone 6a/7b PA garden. Love your videos.
I'm impressed! Seedlings look great.

For the piece of metal on your planter bed, just use some roofing screws to secure onto the wood.

I live in Michigan also, if you start them early indoors you can get a relatively decent bloom season out of them . ❄️⛄️💚🙃
I don't have space for seed trays and grow lights. Are you planning to direct sow any seeds into the soil? If so, what types of seeds?
I love bootstrap containers! Even my dog can’t break it

Do you have to dig your Dahlias up before winter???
Morning
I love your optimism Robbie…that what it takes to make a great gardener 🪴
Hi Robbie I have a question. Do you remember where you got the angry frog faucet? It’s so cute. I enjoy seeing all the progress you’ve made.
Hi Tammy! Just added the link to the description 🐸
Your my birthday buddy Robbie! April 12th! 🎉 ❤
I just KNOW the dahlias you’re going to be thinning out will be THE one or ones that would have grown the big full blooms for you and you’ll be left with only singles. 🥺❄️⛄️💚🙃
I bought dahlia seeds this year I thought that I’d give them a try ! With my luck they will probably end up all the ones I don’t like ! ❄️⛄️💚🙃

What seeds do you not pot up?
Hey Robbie....
A Georgia boy here. Enjoy your videos. Question.... where did you find those seed pack plastic containers. Have a great day.
Hi Steven, just added the link to them in the description
Hi Robbie. I realized that I started different seed together that have different germination dates 🤦🏻♀️. Remind people of that please 😂
Pine place ? ❄️⛄️💚🙃

Johnny’s had $10 of a $50 purchase, but you recorded this in advance. Maybe it might help someone else. 🌼🐝
