Arguably the biggest annoyence for us collectors of any scale is space and keeping everything dust free! Looking forward to how the new setup will look like!
Build a room with good HVAC design and pro grade dust filter. And you dont even need to put your car models in the box or cabinet. Anyway, I hate those cabinet + boxes. I always take my car models out right from the beginning and play with them. When you collection grow past 50 cars, you dont love each of them much anymore, you just keep adding up because you are addicted to shopping. I stopped at 50 cars and if I want to buy a new car, I sold one of the rest so I can enjoy, watch, play, and love all of my 50 cars. One more point, scale model cars without diorama is just a toy, imo. And again, no offense, I especially hate large collection of car models. Ask those owners, how long since the last time they touch one of their car? LOOOONG LOOONG time. So, to me, that is useless and poor item.
One more thing, I did paint correction and ceramic coating for ALL of my 50 cars myself. After a while, all it needs is quick running water, low PSI compressed air and the car is clean and dry like the 1st day with perfect paint job in less than 5 seconds, each. So, collect less, just keep the ones you absolutely love AND play with them, watch them every day.

Literally my dream 😍😍 I have a collection of around 1500 hot wheels and model cars (most out of the box) and they’re all in my bedroom but I’d love a separate room dedicated to them! I must say though, I do have a good setup with them now but when I have my own house there will be a separate room for them!

good for you. I did similar thing a year ago by dedicating the whole top tier of my pad to a Hot Wheels museum. Not ready to pack it in and I did want to expand. Belive it or not when you have everything in front of you can actually create a better showcase for the hobby. Cant wait to see your new layout.

Well i wish i was you because i got a bunch of fantasy cars that i wasn't interested on it and because of it, i lost all of my money by buying fantasy cars and then i realized that i wasn't interested to fantasy cars so i quit buying it because my goal for me is to find all cars that were in every racing games but in a diecast size

Did you buy that metal hot wheels display or did you get it for free from the store? Asking because my local Walmart has one of these exact displays and its Always empty. Im tempted to ask the store branch manager if i can buy it from them. It would go great with my collection, like yourself.

Well the paint won't chip on just plastic, how else would they get damaged?
