Really a 'Century' recording and performance of these 'lieder' gems. Christa Ludwig smashed them all in profoundness, voice clearness, and deep beauty of her singing and the orchestra playing conducted by the great pupil of Mahler and really Wagnerian conductor who was staying aside from mainstream Wagner Bayreuth Festival affairs because of his Jewish background, obviously. This is the way Wagner 'must be' performed.
RIP the Great Christa Ludwig ! She was the Best Mezzosoprano from Wagner and Mahler songs…Merci ! ❤️🎼❤️🙏👏🌹
RIP. Your wonderful voice is still with us.
Voice and orchestra sublime,,,,,,,,,
Belleza pura

MARAVILLOSA
Brava diva!
This is very scoopy singing. I’m surprised. Pretty much every note starts a semitone low.
Don't exaggerate. There is the occasional slur, which adds character and colour, but it's used sparingly.
