Stumbled upon this video and wanted to add something. About a year ago I bought Rudy Project Tralyx with prescription lenses. I have -2.25 on both eyes. Unlike glasses shown in this video, Tralyx has one big glass for both eyes, so they can't just put prescription lenses in it. What Rudy Project did for those glasses is they cut middle of it and fused prescription glasses inside that is made out of the same material. Best glasses I've ever purchased! I think you should consider making a video about that particular model with prescription glasses because it is very different from anything I've seen in your videos. When I was doing research for it a year ago, there was absolutely no information about prescription version of Tralyx and local bike shop didn't have any examples either. Video showing how prescription glasses work with that particular model might help a lot of people looking for very comfortable cycling prescription glasses.
Hi there! We do have a video of the Oakley Jawbreaker that is similar as we offer that frame with prescription. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/GNOTQg6uKzQ/видео.html. Thanks for tuning in!
Good question! They would not since the optical dock itself is A. not compatible with any ANSI rated frame, and B. Not ANSI Rated. Any and all components of an ANSI rated frame and lens combo must have the same certification. Hope this helps! HI! The Dock works with light and mild prescriptions as well but was specifically designed for people with high Rx strengths who usually cannot get their prescription made to a set of wraparound sports frames like the Rydon. But some people like the look even though their Rx is on the lighter side 👍
For the Rydon, if your using the Optical Dock, is it a choice of utilizing the rx optical dock OR standard sunglasses lenses? I was originally under the impression that you can insert clear rx optical dock + tinted sunglasses lenses. Can you clarify please?
My prescription was only +1.5/+2.5 with an add of +1.25 and the lenses in my Rydon 'Impact Rx' were still enormously thick. Plus one of the lenses just broke today after being dropped - from waist height! :-( I'm wondering whether this dock system would have been a better idea to begin with. (and whether it's any cheaper than the 'freeform tek' lenses I now need to throw away)
Does the Stratofly use the Fotonyks optical dock lenses? Or does Stratofly need it's owns? And I was not clear what you said about the lenses between Rydon, Rydon Slim and the Fotonyk. Do you mean that the own prescription optical dock lenses is not interchangeable between the models? Or do you mean the non prescription protective lenses, who included when you buy the frames are not interchangeable between the models?
Hi there! The Stratofly does not use an optical dock, it's only offered in the Rydon, Rydon Slim and Fotonyk. Both the optical dock and non-prescription lenses are not interchangeable between the models as they would only fit the frame it is designed for.
Are the Optical Docks and the "normal" prescription lenses interchangeable? So if I buy for example the Rudy Project Rydon Optical Dock glasses, can I also put direct prescription lenses in the same frame?
They are interchangeable, absolutely! The dock is shaped the same as the lenses that mount directly in the frame so you can swap between the dock, the non-Rx lenses, and Rx lenses that can be make to go directly in the frame. Hey Andrew! Hope you are well. Check out the links in the description above and the measurements for both frames will be on there. For easy reference, here is the link to the Wiley X Boss so you can compare: www.sportrx.com/wiley-x-boss.html.
Hi Elmir! You may be able to find them on eBay but to be sure you get an authentic pair of Rudy Projects you can also buy from a reputable seller like SportRx! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to one of our opticians: www.sportrx.com/contact.
I'm one of those high prescription guys. More miles on the bike, than the car. Can these work with the following..... e sphere cyl Axis R +7.0 -1.75 80 L +7.5 -2.25 90 I think these are the progressives which I don't need, but might not work anyway with the frame. ADD seg hgt dist p.d R: 2.25 21.0 31.0 L: 2.25 21.0 30.0 Yes, I'm as blind as a bat. It is an interesting concept, and they probably would've saved with wear and tear on my shoulders and neck for that 125miler I did on Sunday.
Hi Dave! Your best bet is to contact one of our certified opticians via livechat or over the phone here: www.sportrx.com/contact They will be able to make frame recommendations to you based on your rx. Thanks for reaching out!

@@sportrxeyewear Nice. Yes, it is exactly the same for Tralyx. Even shape of the cutout looks identical.
Does Optical dock could be photochromic even with prescription on DeltaBeat for example? Thanks
If this used in the Z87 frame do the glasses maintain the Z87 rating with the impactX lenses?

Good Day. May I know the dimensions of the frame? Thank you
I have the Rydon. Does this docking system work with mild prescriptions of +0.50, or is it only better with moderate and high ones?

How wide are these frames? As a reference, I wear the Wiley X Boss on the job, head is too wide for most everything else.
