My favorite scene is when Tim Roth has to come up with a cool story to entertain the 'bad guys' and rehearsing it. Awesome. That release takes up a lot of shelf space but looks wicked cool. Good review.
Yeah it's a very big release no question about it but I had another four edition similar to this one in my collection and they look absolutely fantastic together. I couldn't be happier with the movie and the edition itself. Thank you so much for checking it out
Wow, amazing wonderful edition of Reservoir Dogs, a movie I have never seen , but let me tell you you have to get your hands on Pulp Fiction, because it is a true master piece, and a favorite of mine. The good news is I actually went out and bought Pulp Fiction so hopefully I will be Crossing that off my list very very soon. Reservoir Dogs was an absolute blast and I couldn't be any happier than I am. Didn't quite live up to the hype but you never know my second viewing might even be better again. Woooohhhaa I’m only half way through watching your video Keith and had to stop and write this. You MUST, MUST go and buy Pulp Fiction now. It is arguably my all time favourite film (definitely top 3) and is an absolute masterpiece. I love Reservoir Dogs and first saw it at a screening in our Student Union in 1993. I rate it very, very highly and agree with your review. That said, Pulp Fiction simply blows it away. I know the film almost word for word and simply every scene is amazing. The cast is incredible and even better than the cast of Reservoir Dogs IMO. Given how superb the RD cast is, that gives you some sort of idea. It’s the sort of film that if it came on TV, I would end up watching it all the way through. By all means buy it again if a collectors release comes out (the film deserves it) but you must buy it now. I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks for the look over this set though. I have the steel book and love that.
Hey Graham. I know I said in the video that I wanted to wait and see if a collector's edition will come out for Pulp Fiction but God knows when that will happen if it even does. So I've decided I'm going to go out and buy the standard release because apparently Amazon Italy are selling it for less than 10 euro. Even if a collector's edition does come out at least I didn't spend too much on the standard release. After seeing Reservoir Dogs I can't stress to you how excited I am to finally check out Pulp Fiction. The hype was huge on Reservoir Dogs it's even bigger with Pulp Fiction. I'm sure I will probably do a review on it and share my thoughts on the movie itself and it's 4K transfer which I heard is fantastic. @@millerman9991 Great choice Keith! Seriously I guarantee that you will have no qualms in spending again for a collectors edition if and when one does become available. I only watched it a few weeks back, but I just had to put it on again. It is quite simply a work of genius, about as close to the perfect film that you can get. Now for me it’s in the same category as Jaws or the Shawshank Redemption, but I’d personally place it just ahead of those two amazing masterpieces. I really can’t wait to hear your thoughts and I really wish I was you right now. You will soon be watching Pulp Fiction for the first time! 😮😊. Oh and the transfer is absolutely stunning! @CASFAN much like Reservoir Dogs I do know a lot of scenes in Pulp Fiction. You can't go on RUclips and not find certain scenes from it and I'm not going to lie I was always intrigued to check it out. I think Reservoir Dogs has given me that push that I needed to finally pick it up. I have to admit Graham it's very refreshing to read your comments here because your passion is clearly coming across for this movie and it only adds that little bit more excitement for myself to check it out.

@scmkar to be honest I probably know so much of Pulp Fiction just by RUclips alone. But I have bought the standard release it is coming my way and I can find the check this one off my list. It was just one of those movies that passed me by much like Reservoir Dogs

Hi Keith. Glad you've caught up with Reservoir Dogs and understand your comment that it didn't live up to the hype. I will say though, that this it's been 30+ years since it was first released, and at that time there was nothing else like it in terms of character dialogue. Since then it's influenced so many other films and has been imitated and parodied countless times. Ironically, the best retreading (IMO anyway) is The Hateful Eight 😂 Looks a great release and one I must add to the collection
Like I said in the video there was so much hype surrounding it that there was no way it was ever going to live up to it. Having said that it doesn't mean it won't with future viewings. I couldn't be happier. It's just a shame I left it for so long to finally check it out but look it was worth the wait. I have actually ordered the standard release of Pulp Fiction and somebody bought me True Romance and when I finally check out both of them I will be done when it comes to all of Quentin Tarantinos movies. As always Keith, I very much enjoyed your unboxing & comments on this fantastic film. Congrats on that beautiful edition, I love it. I do have both the slipcover edition & the steelbook but I have to say I like the art on the slipcover more which is on your outer box. As far as the 4K transfer goes, it is fantastic! I liked hearing about your favorite scenes. My favorite is when Lawrence Tierney is talking to Vic and Chris Penn walks in and he tells Chris that his daddy was just telling him how he's f-ing up the business 😅 then Chris tells Vic how he's getting it up the a$$ in prison and so on 😅 so funny ! Quentin Tarantino is the man. Peace

Saw Pulp Fiction in the Savoy on O'Connell St. You would have thought Tarantino himself was there as it got a standing ovation.
Early 90s Dublin and folk clapping a screen, Brilliant movie, correct the error of your ways.
Ps. Saw Reservoir Dogs in Navan, only about 15 people were there, by the end, there were just me and my brother, thought it was fantastic, and only reason I saw was due to a review and poster given away with Empire at the time.
Everybody has those movies that passed them by in life and unfortunately for myself it was Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Thankfully I have right a wrong with Reservoir Dogs and hopefully I can say the same for Pulp Fiction. I honestly cannot wait to check it out and if its as good as what people are saying I should be in for a treat. Hopefully I'll know soon enough

Funny it's your first view but some movies it takes a while to get around too. I bought it on laserdisc many, many years ago. I didn't know what it was. I had never heard about the director with the strange name but fell in love with the cover the minute i saw Keitel and Buscemi pointing their guns at each other. Today is still my favoruite Tarantino movie.
I honestly do not know what was stopping me from checking it out. Thankfully it was worth the wait. I couldn't be happier. Now all I have to do is finally check out Pulp Fiction and I'm done when it comes to Quentin Tarantino. Correction I still need to check out True Romance. Hi Keith, That's a lovely collector's set. Just to add to what everyone else is saying to you Pulp Fiction really is a must see. Not sure if you have this one or not from around the same time period True Romance with Christian Slater is also another must see. Tony Scott directed but Quentin Tarantino wrote the fantastic dialogue the scene between Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper is worth the price of admission on it's own. Arrow released a super collector's 4K box a while back which might be hard to find now but it also got a standard 4k edition. I would highly recommend if you haven't seen it.
Yeah I have decided to buy the standard 4K release of Pulp Fiction instead of waiting for something that's probably never going to come in terms of a collector's edition. I haven't seen True Romance either but somebody contacted me tonight saying they actually bought me the 4k limited edition arrow set and hopefully I'll have it on Tuesday. I am ecstatic and I cannot wait to finally see it. I'm a big Christian Slater fan and I'm not sure why I haven't seen it yet. Great vid keith. I picked up that ear slipcover steelbook last year and it's well worth it with that transfer! Probably one other the best 4k transfers out there. Mad that you haven't seen this movie till now but it's great timing that your first time is with this great 4k release. You absolutely need to watch pulp fiction next Keith, no question.

Honestly Roy it is a true Night and Day difference over the Blu-ray. When I checked them out side by side I couldn't believe the difference in quality. I think you'll be very happy

Love this movie. I remember when it came out. I think it was my first “collectors set vhs”. With stickers and all. I just bought the 4K last year. Can’t justify double dip on this as art is even the same. But great movie.

Yes Scott I think Quinton Tarantino was one of those directors where one minute you could have a favorite movie by him and then next it can change. As of right now believe it or not my favorite from him is Death Proof. I honestly cannot praise that movie enough. But thank you as always my friend for taking the time to stop by.

Hey Keith, so happy you finally seen this. This was the second Quentin Tarantino film I saw, went the theater to see pulp fiction and was blown away. Looked to see what else he had done and of course Reservoir dogs. I agree Steve Buscemi is excellent. In this matter of fact, when these were released on DVD, they had multiple slipcover versions. The slipcover was colored for all the characters and I of course got the pink one because of Steve. this is the movie that I showcase the difference between 4K and Blu-ray and the funny thing is the Blu-ray in the steel book is the new 4K scan but of course, without the resolution and the more important Dolby Vision/HDR. I have the original 2007-ish Blu-ray and it’s pretty bad that’s the one I use for comparison and it’s laughable the difference.
When I saw you had this box set, I said I hope the steel books in there because if it’s not, I’m gonna tell him, you absolutely have to get this steel book. This is my coolest steel book for sure maybe not the best steel book I have, but definitely the coolest. I’m glad it was in the box set. if you want to see Steve Buscemi at his best, he did an HBO show called Boardwalk Empire. He was phenomenal in that. if I made a list of the 10 shows, you have to see before you die that show would be on it matter fact, three or four shows from HBO would be on that list of 10. including the wire, and the Sopranos funny thing is my absolute favorite episode of the Sopranos is one that Steve Buscemi happened to direct. He also plays a smaller character in the sopranos as well kind of like a guest star towards the end of the series. And I wouldn’t say pulp fiction looks better. It has a lot more outdoor scenes so may be more pleasing but they’re really close and if you factor in the upgrade from the Blu-ray hands down reservoir dogs is the better of the two definitely get pulp fiction you’re gonna love it, have a great one as always👍👍
Hey John. When I was shoting this video I actually had the Blu-ray and 4K release side by side and I could not believe the difference in quality. The blu ray that I have of Reservoir Dogs looks very poor and I think the 4K is a true Night and Day difference. I couldn't believe how good it actually looks and now I am very excited to see Pulp Fiction because I was told that looks even better. I couldn't imagine it is but I'm hoping to be proven wrong.
Steve Buscemi was absolutely astonishing and I am aware of all of the TV series he has starred in but I am terrible when it comes to TV shows. For some strange reason I can't seem to find the time to commit to anything. Such a shame because I am missing out on so much.
As for the collectors edition yes it was very important that the Steelbook was inside it and if it wasn't chances are I wouldn't have bought it. I still can't believe there was people complaining about the art design on that. I couldn't be happier and great to hear that you loved it as much as I do.

@@millerman9991 hey Keith, I know the feeling but you gotta figure out a way maybe you can do it one night a week one, 1 hour show kind of like they were originally aired once a week even if you have to force yourself, but I’d be willing to bet after a couple episodes, you will not have to force yourself at all. if by chance, and I really hope you have, but if you haven’t seen Game of Thrones, you absolutely have to the picture quality is so good and the Dolby Atmos is outstanding. Every episode is like a one hour movie. The production value on that show is off the charts I think I read that some of the episodes costed multiple millions of dollars per episode if you haven’t seen this definitely start with this and you’ll be kicking yourself. one of these days I will actually put a list of 10 together but it’s not something that I would take lightly I would actually take some time, but right off the top of my head, I know I could give you five or six that would be on the list obviously, Game of Thrones and breaking bad, justified, the wire, the Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, so there’s six🙂 no hurry and the world is not going to end, but I know you’d really enjoy these, so when you can talk to you later👍
@johnmbell4642 it's not just trying to find the time but sometimes I find it very hard to commit to a TV series. I'm one of these people that would rather see an 8 episode series where each episode is 30 minutes long. I have never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones. I have heard so many great things not just with the series itself but how it looks and sounds and I might take a gamble on that series and picking it up on 4k. All of the series that you mentioned I have heard of but never seen. Hopefully someday I can get around to them. Thanks again John and all the best to you

I did finally manage to buy the Night Of The Living Dead collectors edition, was on Amazon Germany. Randomly saw a post on Facebook, so bought it straight away.
Hey Aaron. I'm almost certain this edition appeared on Amazon Germany as well but unfortunately I think it's sold out. Keep an eye out because chances are in might come back in stock. I couldn't be happier because the movie was fantastic. The 4K transfer is astonishing and all of it wrapped up in this beautiful collector's edition. It's a shame people in the UK can't buy from them. I can only imagine the amount of money they are losing out on. Great to hear that you picked up the Night of the Living Dead release. Cool, Keith. Speaking of Reservoir Dogs I'm getting the two disc 15th anniversary DVD soon. Ordered it last night. Watched it almost three months ago, reminded me a lot of Pulp Fiction with how it was shot and how the story was told.

Recently, just before yesterday I got Gladiator DVD with Russell Crowe, and I'm also waiting on Joy Ride from 2001 DVD, Training Day from 2001 DVD, The Shawshank Redemption from 1994 DVD, The Green Mile from 1999 DVD, obviously Reservoir Dogs DVD and also 1408 starring John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson. Those are my recent orders for movies I'm waiting to arrive.
Every single one of your pickups are fantastic movies. 1408 in particular I thought was fantastic. You can't go wrong with Stephen King. Of course it does help that I'm a huge fan of John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson. There's some great alternate endings to that movie as well

@j65724 gladiator probably one of the greatest soundtracks I have ever heard. Movie itself is fantastic as well. I have that many Editions for it it's borderline frightening at this point
@@millerman9991 May I recommend checking out Joy Ride from 2001 if you haven't seen it yet? It's basically a thriller type movie about two brothers going on a road trip to pick up a female friend and while doing so they talk to a trucker on a CB radio to prank him and they learn that the trucker is actually a psychopath and killer. Really my best all time favorite movie, especially for a thriller.
I only just watched Joyride a couple of weeks back. Such a wonderful movie. Has a lot of similarities to Steven Spielberg's Duel

Germany always deliver when it comes to releases like this. I think that's the fourth edition in my collection that's similar to this one.

Somebody mentioned that you can buy the 4K release on Amazon Italy for less than 10 Euro so I'm gonna stop by and see if I can get it. I wasn't too crazy about the Steelbook so I'll give that a pass

Death Proof is actually one of my favorite Quentin Tarantino movies. I'm definitely in the minority when I say that but the heart loves what the heart loves. Now I'm wondering what you're going think of Pulp Fiction when you're going to watch it. I've watched the 4k Blu-ray just last month, and enjoyed the Hell out of it. What a fantastic movie.
Reservoir Dogs has set me up very nicely and I'm going to buy the standard release of Pulp Fiction and I honestly cannot wait to finally check this one off my list. That will be me finally done when it comes to Quentin Tarantino
Ive been shocked a few times now Keith with films you havent seen and this and pulp fiction are right up there with scarface and killer klowns when you said those aswell. I didnt know the edition was so big, its beautiful. I was gonna ask was it the same transfer as the lionsgate, it likely is and wow resevoir dogs and pulp fiction are two of the best transfers ive seen on 4k. At least now when you hear stuck in the middle with you, you'll think of the appropriate film 😂
Unfortunately Steve we all have these movies that simply pass us by in life and Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were two examples. But look in the end it was worth the wait because I had such a great time and I couldn't be happier. Such a fantastic movie with an equally fantastic 4K transfer all of it wrapped up in this amazing collector's edition and the cherry on top was that Steelbook edition. Yes it is the exact same 4K transfer and if Pulp Fiction looks just as good I know I'm in for a treat. Thank you as always Steve for taking the time to stop by and check it out

@@millerman9991 I was gonna say Keith the standard 4k of pulp fiction had a lovely black and white slipcover of uma thurman if you've seen it, I hope you get it on yours if you order the standard 4k.
One of my favorite movies. I've watched it so many times. The 4K picture is amazing. I can't wait to hear what you think of Pulp Fiction which is another favorite of mine. Honestly I love all of Tarantino's work.

@@millerman9991 I've owned both movies on VHS, DVD, blu-ray and now 4K and it is pretty amazing to see how far the picture quality has come over the years. They are both very good 4K's and I think you'll enjoy Pulp Fiction too.
@outdoorsjoe I actually had Reservoir Dogs on Blu-ray and 4K side by side and I was staggered by the difference in terms of picture quality and if I'm getting something similar from Pulp Fiction then happy days.

Very nice set Keith, never seen the film though. I can confirm that Plaion do not ship to the UK. I contacted them about the recent 7 disc mediabook edition of David Lynch's Dune. Alas no joy.

@@millerman9991 Plaion just reissued it last month Keith 7 disc, 6 disc and various 3 disc versions. I think the 7 disc set is similar to the one you've got but with completely different packaging.

No I never picked up Blue Beetle on 4k. I think I'm waiting to get it for very cheap because I haven't heard great things about the movie itself.

Wow you are testing my memory but there is one scene that stands out for me and it's in part two. I think it's around 30 minutes in when he goes to this concert and I found that entire segment to be incredible. Give it a go and see what you think

Yeah I honestly can't wait to finally check it out. I'm just worried that if I buy it on 4k a similar release like this will come out. But chances of that happening are very small so I probably will take a gamble and pick up the standard 4k
They don't ship to US. I considered hunting it down but decided against as I don't want the 4K and specifically not a fan of that steelbook. I wish they had done their own release of the blu-ray instead of using an existing one.

Do you think the K Billy key ring stands for Kill Bill, it even has the same colors, maybe he knew he was going to make that film way back then. The posters would look good framed. i bought the USA version the 4k disc wa defective then i read that the manufacture were some mexicans and have a lot of complains i couldnt tell if the transfer was actually good. Thank you for the review.

I couldn't believe how good this movie looks on 4K and I honestly cannot wait to finally sit down and check out Pulp Fiction not just on 4K but to see the movie for the first time as well. @@millerman9991 pulp fiction was an original way of telling a story,which I’m sure directors have copied over the years. The cast is outstanding, John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson,Ving Rhames, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis just name a few. I hope a nice 4K box set comes out after a great reception for reservoir dogs. You will definitely have a blast.
Plaion Pictures do NOT ship to the UK as we are no longer part of the EU. However, I have contacted a seller on ebay who I purchased the collector's edition of Cyborg (including the director's cut SLINGER) from last year and he'll be having the forthcoming 4-disc Ultimate Edition of Hard Target from Plaion Pictures in stock in a couple of weeks.
It's great that you have a work around for things like this. Yeah I had a feeling it was to do it brexit. It's such a shame because they are losing out on so much business from the UK. I'm not going to bother with Hard Target because I already have that amazing collector's edition from universal. I'll be interested in checking out some unboxings for it though when it comes available
@@millerman9991 The Ultimate Edition will feature the 126-minute WORKPRINT version, which is like the holy grail for JCVD fans as it has only ever been available as a screener copy on VHS which I had myself.
