I follow a handful of Japanese language teachers on RUclips, and you are by the far the best one. You explain lessons so well, it makes learning Japanese much easier. Please never stop making these videos.

This is so great!!! Domo arigato Yuko sensei😅 I’m on my 16th day streak of duolingo and I’m really annoyed by how unpedagogical it is, 50% of your mindpower goes towards guessing what order they want the english words in the answers unless you want a monetary penalty for making mistakes. And they leave you guessing what you did wrong, without any explanation! Terrible form of learning, and I’m surprised how much I’ve learned despite that.
So finding your channel is simply amazing because you answer all my questions in a clear and calm way! Thank you so much, you explain everything so well and I’m blown away by how easy and intuitive japanese is when you really understand the syntax and the building of sentences. Thank you thank you thank you❤❤❤

I've been using Duolingo for close to three years and almost daily. It's good but it's' very limiting because it doesn't teach the mechanics of grammar or sentence structure. You learn a lot of characters but you don't learn why or where they are used. There is no instruction about plain form, formal, informal, class hierarchy situations, or any of that. This is why you must learn correctly from the beginning with Yuko Sensei. Sometimes you are correct in your response but if it isn't THEIR response you get the penalty. It's really just rote memory. It has value but not as a primary way to properly learn Japanese and Japanese is much to complicated without true formal training from a qualified Sensei like Yuko. SHE is the one who makes sense of it all. Yuko is ichiban! Duolingo is like swimming under water without a mask on. You can sort of see things. Yuko is swimming with a mask on and makes it so you can see what you need to.
