I'm currently majoring in Public Relations and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about this. I'm a person who likes to plan and execute the projects instead of sitting in the office to do the paper works. But you inspire me to do something I do not like to do, I will try and do something new and hope this will be useful in my future. Thanks!
This video resonates me ! Only after my internship, I got to realize that PR is so much to do with writing instead of just events and people. Listening to your experiences in the real PR industry has refreshed my mind about PR as it is really informative ! Thank you ! :D
I’m currently a broadcast journalism major but I’m switching over to public relations and this video was so amazing. I’ve been so stressed out about my future but watching videos like yours has eased my worries and I’m so thankful.
Thank you so much for the valuable sharing! Your passionate vibe has motivated me to go further into PR industry. It is never easy for people to understand what the "real PR" is doing, this video has really shown us the jizz of PR! I have gained so much in my internship experience, and after internship only I realised that there are so much fun in PR, it is not only about press release and socializing, more importantly, PR is about raising company’s authority, building relationships with key people and managing reputation.Despite increasing company’s authority and social profile, PR also plays a vital role in the times of crisis. For instance, minimizing the damage taken is always the decision to make.
this video is super informative for people who are pursuing PR, especially me who is not really ready for the PR world and also, the life advice is super useful, it gives people (at least me!) some sort of comfort, love it ❤

Great experience sharing video! It is useful to me, because i was confused to my future career. Thank you for the video and let me know more about public relations job, your experience sharing is helping me a lot.
Thank you for this advice. Right now im looking for internships . But I am taking a PR class and I love it but this really gives me good insight now that I am still applying. Thank you
Hi Suanny. I'm a newbie here in your channel and I'd just like to thank you for this video. I am 26 y.o and have been in the finance industry for five years as a professional accountant, I pursued this career because of financial and job security considerations for my family's sake (I'm a breadwinner). But today, after 10 years has passed since I first took various career tests and quizzes, I took them again only to realize that PR has always been my calling (I literally took 10 tests or more and it showed the same result). Now that I am slowly having the independence from my family and to choose the path I wanna take in life, I want to start listening to that calling and know more about PR. So tonight I ended up watching your videos and subscribing. I was taking notes and boy was I surprised when you mentioned that changing career topic, it really hit me to the core. So with that I thank you for the very informative content and words of encouragement. I hope you notice me and give me words of advice on how I can start this career from scratch at 26. Lol. Looking forward to more PR videos!
Thanks for your lovely sharing Suanny! I love the passions that you have with your PR life. Thanks for all the tips that you've mentioned. I love part-time jobs too as I'm also love being freelancer (either bar singer/ writer). At the same time, I love doing events too. Also, thanks for emphasizing the difference of target audience we as PR need to take note of when we wanted to attract different audiences (through writing/pitching). Once again, thanks for your sharing and I wish to become a successful PR like you!

This video was amazing! I really appreciate your section about what to do with life and trying not to pressure on yourself to achieve things. I learnt a lot from your PR experience. I’m trying to get into that industry myself
Thank you so much Suanny for the informative videos. ❤ I'm currently majoring in PR for my bachelor degree. Before I entering to uni, I though PR is just doing events but not! 🙈 After few semester, I realize PR do take a lot of writing and after I've done my internship only then I feel the real working life and PR world.

Hey Suanny! just subscribed! Thank you so much for this video. I always thought I knew what I wanted to do career wise but once I dipped my toes in my field I started to realize that it wasn't really my passion (after 4 years on Uni..sadly). On the side, I am a content creator (also have youtube!) and I have been thinking of switching careers and doing a post-grad in PR. I've been watching a few videos to get to know the field a bit more! thanks so much for this video, it was very informative!
Thankyou soooooooo much Suanny Gracia!!!! This really helped! I am currently at a stage where I know what I am good at but I just can't seem to decide what career path I should go into, and honestly speaking, that was getting really frustrating but your video just helped me get a clearer picture and I really appreciate it!! Although I would really like to know what you majored in, at college or what you got your bachelor's degree in?
I live in South Florida and my bachelors is advertising/marketing! I’m also a health practitioner so most of my RUclips videos pertain to that. I love PR for my holistic business. Love your videos! We should connect one day :)
I just graduated from college with a communications degree and an emphasis in PR. Any advice on getting that first job? I have an internship under my belt but else could I be doing to stand out to employers?
Such a great video! I enjoyed watching your video! I have soo many more questions! I am currently getting my masters degree in Strat Comm and PR. But I am unsure where to go because I do not like writing. But I have a nack for selling, marketing, and helping others see their business potentials. I feel like I am good at seeing market gaps and putting together solution strategies. I am also unsure if I am an entrepreneur or rather working in Corporate. So confused because sales, marketing, & comms speak to me equally.
Thanks so much! So for PR you will have to do a bit of writing. I'd say around 70% and likely more than marketing. You should try an internship in both fields or shadowing someone and see what works for you. Also, it's totally ok to have several interests and to be unsure of what is right for you -- it'll become more clear as you take on different internships and jobs in the future.
Melisa Fuentes reach out to people in PR agencies or companies you want to work for to get a better insight for the job. Make sure your cover letters express your interest in PR and switching fields. A lot of people don’t have a bachelor’s in PR (I don’t) I think the field is more about experience than anything else. Hope this helps!
Hi! So there's a lot of writing that goes into PR. If you're not a great writer you can try for agencies that are more heavy on the event side or the influencer marketing side of PR, because you'll need more project management skills vs writing skills. However, you should always work on improving your writing because in any comms field you'll always need it! x

Here is my advice, apply apply apply. Never give up. It’s a tough competitive field to get into if you have 0 experience. But that doesnt mean it’s impossible. Find other opportunities for experience and try to sell it when you’re going to interviews. After 2 stressful years after graduating college i finally landed my first PR internship

I'm a singer and I want to get into voice-over work and session singing. I also have an interest in Marketing/PR. Are you saying it is important to have at least a bachelors degree to even pursue a career in PR?

I'm not sure if you can do both at the same time. Although interchangeable, they each require a different skill-set. I would have to do some more research to accurately talk about entry-level numbers but I'm going to write it down on my to-do list. :) xo
@@arteeedg421 I'm sure you can! They are so many interchangeable skills in these fields. I'm thinking you might need to learn more about design for advertising but you can learn that on your own. Advertising is more lucrative than PR and significantly though advertising and PR comes under the umbrella of marketing only, advertising requires you to be really creative unlike in PR, where you just have to have good communication and writing skills. So I would suggest you to take any one field where your skills and interest perfectly match. Hence, choose your field wisely and think twice about your interest and passion before joining any field of work.

There are so many great agencies in Miami! But it depends on the type of experience you want to get. At an agency you're likely to be more hands-on, if that's what you're looking for.
