@@williamjenks6866 some of them are good at it, but I don’t do it because besides the SKS, using a semi auto rifle against a full auto weapon in close range is a bad idea
He also didn't mention the RFB, although is the most generic one (and probably the worst in real life). M39 is also my favorite along the Mk11, I always do well with these guns
The SAIGA with slug rounds is my favorite DMR. It's a one-shot headshot in close range, and for some reason gets really wobbly when suppressed. It's like you're playing BF3 all over again.
He didn't mention that the SKS's inaccuracy can be fixed with heavy barrel which halves its base spread. No other weapon in the game benefits as much from heavy barrel as the SKS since it's single-shot and basically all shots are fired at a base deviation. He also failed to mention that the main advantage of the SVD is that it can be spammed almost at its max rate of fire and doesn't suffer from increasing deviation like most of the other DMR's.
One very important thing you forgot to mention with the SVD-12 that really makes it stand out above the others is that the spread increase per shot is half that of the other DMRs, so it's much better for accurately placing rapid follow-up shots, which is necessary when you need 3 hits to kill. I use it with a heavy barrel and angled/folding grip to great effect on large conquest maps. The ACE 53 SV also has less spread increase per shot than most DMRs.

What is interesting if you actually look at the stats at say symthic is that while scar has a perfect symmetric recoil, while the mk11 draws to the right slightly. The Scar also recovers faster, has less spread increase and has a better muzzle velocity, so anything except for the extreme long ranges, shouldn't be significantly affected by the slight difference in accuracy, and depending if you use the heavy barrel, should be more then enough. Although that said, while the stats might be better on weapon x compared to weapon y, the personal usage and feeling of any weapon usually trumps any difference in stats. Something meshes well with your timing of play-style, that is usually the more effective one.
The EMR is generally seen as the best DMR, statwise. The only big issue it has is it has very high Vrec, but it dumps on the MK, SCAR, and ACE due to it doing everything what they do with a higher rate of fire. I also think that the RFB is by far superior as an entry level DMR than the SVD; it is easier to control and performs better in CQB, while still holding up great at longer ranges..
The QBU-88 having a high muzzle velocity does go well with its other stats. Highest muzzle velocity means highest suppressed muzzle velocity of the DMRs as well. Slap a laser sight, a horizontal grip, a suppressor and your choice of red dot or 4x sight on it and you can do some real damage at any range, and of course not get spotted on the map. Only downside is a somewhat long empty reload and a 10 round magazine, but if your reloading every 1-2 kills you should be fine, and the suppressor helps give you that time along with its usual benefits.
You forgot the Sar 21, Ak12 and Aug A3 trio. Sometimes they hang out with the Ar160 "midrange Count". I didn't mention the Scar because it has a low bullet velocity. But in cqc it can outperform many DMRs.
My favourite "DMR" is the Type-95 Carbine. If you put on heavy barrel and stubby grip, it's very accurate at long range with tapfiring/ short bursts and you have the full auto capacity up close.
It nice to see the SKS on this list. I own one in real life. It's a 1952 Russian surplus in mint shape so I don't take it out offen. But surprisingly most info on game version is relatively correct to the real thing.
I own the Type 56 Chinese SKS and it shoot fines however the amount of ignorant people in the comments is disturbing as many of them say that, I quote, "The SKS is known for accidentally firing a lot more often than other guns." Which I have yet to see my SKS jam.
***** Cheap? Waste of money? What kind of drugs are you on? The Chinese have been known to be good firearms makers in the gun market. EDIT: Do your research before you comment on things you don't know about. Also all SKS are military models unless it Chinese import models such as a SKS m and paratroopers. One more thing what is a *real* SKS in your definition? Cause I would like know.
***** I know the Chinese didn't designed the SKS rifle but many Early Chinese SKSs were Sino-Soviet such as the Type 56. Also don't forgot Yugoslavians, East Germans. BTW based on your comments you're not gun knowing person and your grammar is like if a 10 year old wrote it.
+X-Smile4MyScope-X You do know that Russia sold china the sks design right? Plus the Chinese version of the gun saw way more action then the russian version ever did. Also considering that the two versions are practically identical it really doesn't matter and this is coming from a man who owns a Russian model SKS from 1952.
I currently run the E39 EMR with a angled grip, 3.4x for close engagements, 4x for counter sniping, or thermal scope for hardcore and just a silencer on rush games. It's a beast for the silent flanks and mowing a whole squad down. It's great for the stealthy flanks. I have found in clutch moments, spam fire is super inaccurate. I have spammed the trigger aiming dead on and have been mowed down by full auto weapons even when I had the drop on them. But that does not sway me from my M39 EMR. I run it with the support class for the ammo box and claymore when I feel campy. Other wise I use the smoke launcher with the thermal scope to tear it up.
Might have been mentioned already. The video screenshot/cover image/whatever is of a PSL, not an SVD Dragunov. PSL isn't in the game. The PSL is based on a lengthened AK-type receiver. SVD receiver is entirely different. Just thought I'd mention it for accuracy.
if you do it right you can snipe people with the USAS 12, it has to be the thermal one though. (at least for me, I have also only tested it in the firing range)
I usually went with the SVD and the SCAR MK 20 and stuck to long distance stuff. It was really nice going up against actual snipers, because if you used cover and concealment well enough, you could consistently take them out without giving yourself away with bullet trails and the ridiculous scope glare. Also, I REALLY hope they do away with bullet trails in BF1.
Not sure what level is talking about when he said that the scar's accuracy returns to normal faster than the mk11, they both return at the exact same rate.
I'm a SCAR-H SV or M39 kinda guy. SCAR for the longer ranges because I do kinda like my spam fire even at longer ranges, and the M39 for closer range because I don't really like the SKS.
FireRate is not an important stat for a DMR and spam firing DMRs is not the way to use these weapons effectively. The are Designated MARKSMAN Rifles. Pick a target, pace your shots, and be a MARKSMAN. If you want a weapon with a good firerate pick an automatic weapon. DMRs are for those players who like to be accurate, know how to land shots and those who want to play more mid range-support. many times in game I can drop someone spam firing a DMR because they are using the weapon incorrectly. they shouldn't be spamfired unless at point-blank range. I've often had people empty 2-3 magazines and hit me once because they are spam firing
You are right and i agree but level is just trying to mention fire rate because lots of people in bf4 play a rushing cqb style and use the guns that way
+DeltaWolf1000 So it takes you the amount of time for someone to go through 2-3 mags before you drop them? Solid bro ill be sure to take your advice on everything
Jeff Ridgway the skorpion is good, yet its recoil and damage are low. also, thats a matter of opinion. and if you know it, why are you gonna make him make one?
Jeff Ridgway also, the as val is pretty bad. i can see why people like it, but the mp7 has higher rpm, about the same damage, less recoil, and more rounds per mag.
Before the 2015 patch that changed all the guns, DMRs were actually quite excellent at long range. You were still at a disadvantage compared to bolt actions, but you could easily kill anyone at 100 to 200 meters, because they were very accurate and you could do quick follow-up shots. Unfortunatelly, after that patch, DICE has, for some stupid reason, decided to nerf the ADS accuracy of all DMRs, as well as their spread increase, it seems. They're now so inaccurate and inconsistent that it's not worth using them. But before that, the SCAR-H SV was my most favorite DMR, the MK11 right behind it.
You're a horrible medic. Play as support if you're not going to revive anyone. Nobody really plays support and you'll probably get more points supplying your teammates with ammo than healing them. Also unlimited ammo is always fun.
+Dandy yeah i try to go for rhe revive always because it saves teammates a death and there is really no con for teammates. A nice thank you everyonce in a while ups to reviving morale. I try to do the most for the team and keep my team alive even when it might cost me a death. The only time i do not revive is when im the only one with defibs in a group of 5-6 and going for revive means i die.
I like SVD12, heavy barrel, potato grip, target detector, FLIR. Use that in the support class with an ammo box and you have a long range perfect accuracy setup with infinite ammo. For short range I like the SKS.
maybe it's just me but it's hard getting good with a DMR since everyone is running around with ARs and just lay down on the trigger when your in range...I run around with the SKS and SVD and they are really fun to run around with

+franklin clinton I think it was clear that it would be past. They have released a future title already. Wouldn't make sense to compete with your own game.
Level, I was just thinking about how fluid your speech is, and was wondering how you did it? do you practice or write a script? I'm honestly curious, as i notice your speech is always spot on and you transition very well. for me i have issues figuring out what to say next when i try explaining something, and you're very well at it.
The M39 is far more versatile than the SVD. Same accuracy, faster rate of fire, faster muzzle velocity and a bigger mag. It's recoil is not much higher than the MK11. The fact it didn't even get a mention makes it easy to see why some people think you give bad advice.
In my opinion, I think that the M39 & the Scar-H SV are clear upgrades to the SKS & the MK11 Mod 0. Stats taken from Symthic. Perhaps not clear, but by sacrificing a little you're gaining a lot. Starting with the M39, for sacrificing little firing rate, spread increase per shot, & hip fire accuracy (please don't hip fire any DMR unless urgency calls), you get slightly faster reload speeds, much faster muzzle velocity, much better range & an extremely manageable recoil with evenly matched, low left & right recoil yet a higher vertical & a much more reliable ADS accuracy. It takes the monstrous SKS from doing its best at close range to turning it into a still spam worthy versatile rifle good for any distance. As for the Scar-H SV, for sacrificing a bit of muzzle velocity, max distance & a bit of shot accuracy (granted this is a very important factor to the MK11) you will get some similar upgrades stated above. Slightly faster reload speed & a recoil that no other DMR can beat, having your shots constantly focused on your target without kicking around. I have love for near every gun in this game but the purpose of my comment here is to show a more versatile all around rifle than one that has just a slight advantage in one area. The biggest part of my two recommendations is about the recoil, as you said it yourself, with time & practice you can control a vertical recoil, but there is no way to compensate for horizontal recoil. In most cases for myself, I find that using the recoil to get a quick shot on the body then it kicking up to the head secures very fast kills. Questioning your own statement, it baffled me that you chose guns that have recoil patterns different than what you say is ideal when they are already implemented in the game. I bring these two for the fact that they have minimal, & matching, left & right & can practically preform the same tasks as you best rifles, but in more areas as well. In no way however will my opinion take the two rifles that are crowned for fire rate & ADS accuracy, out of place.
I know it's late, but I have worked and I have found the best loadout in battlefield 4 for all situations. SKS PK Sight Magnifier Suppressed Stubby Secondary G18 or M1911. Suppressed. Play as assault and medic your team mates to top the score board every time. I got mastery on the SKS in a week and a half using this.
I enjoy using the side sites with a zoomed site on the dmr's. i know the iron sites are kinda sucky but you get used to them and then being able to switch to longish range is very sweet. That's just me though.
I just ran iron sights on the SKS as I would always end up using it in close - medium range combat where I needed good awareness and little magnification. Now all of these updates with the buffs and nerfs I don't know what to put on my weapons. :(
From what I know (because I've used it) the SR338 is a better dmr than a sniper rifle if you can put a nice sight on it and work with a little so you know when to pull the trigger after each shot you'll out do everyone
been going back to bf4 and idk y but the QBU-88 just seams to work for me. Yes the mag can be a pain but running it with an Acog and back up iron sights is so fun
There are three types of players in BF4: 1- A strategic guy, who never moves carelessly >>>> Levelcap is a good example. He's absolutely not a camper, but not an idiot who rushes for everyone to spot. Usually these guys know the mini map more than their own name. 2- A Rambo, rushing, guy, who runs into the enemy's fire knowing that he/she might, (probably will), get killed, but he/she doesn't care because he/she just want to kill someone, LoL >>>> Me, I do not like to be in one place for more than 5 seconds, I get bored fast. Usually this type is not used to reading the mini map yet, I'm still learning to read it fast and respond faster each time 3- A New player who doesn't know what the fuc* is happening, in his/her case, usually their gameplay differs accordingly. If you have a player type that you think should be mentioned, please go ahead and write it down.
SCAR-H SV is my personal best, got over 300 kills with it in just 3 days. maxed it out. it was also the first DMR I ever used, I bought the shortcut bundle because I couldn't stand the RFB
The suppression on the dmrs suck now. You either buff the suppression of all the guns, or you don't buff it at all for any of the guns in the game. You don't buff the suppression just so people can start using dmrs because dice couldn't fix the hit detection.
Any love for the RFB? Not great at longer ranges, true. It is still easily possible to get clean head shots at 200-300 yards (depending on the circumstance). Bullets seem to fly slower than I might like, though.

MK11 + full auto pistol = dreamteam
You forgot the Sar 21, Ak12 and Aug A3 trio. Sometimes they hang out with the Ar160 "midrange Count". I didn't mention the Scar because it has a low bullet velocity. But in cqc it can outperform many DMRs.
I just hope bf5 doesn't have something like the defensive upgrade...
We all do mate. It just ruins the game for anyone trying to have fun with the bow
+Joep Keulemans Or boost jumping. Let that shit stay in CoD
let's hope
+Rambo JR or being an aggressive recon ...
I heard today that it will be a ww1 shooter
My favourite "DMR" is the Type-95 Carbine. If you put on heavy barrel and stubby grip, it's very accurate at long range with tapfiring/ short bursts and you have the full auto capacity up close.
It nice to see the SKS on this list. I own one in real life. It's a 1952 Russian surplus in mint shape so I don't take it out offen. But surprisingly most info on game version is relatively correct to the real thing.
Just be glad it's not stripper clip fed in the game, like the real one is.
I own the Type 56 Chinese SKS and it shoot fines however the amount of ignorant people in the comments is disturbing as many of them say that, I quote, "The SKS is known for accidentally firing a lot more often than other guns." Which I have yet to see my SKS jam.
*****
Cheap? Waste of money? What kind of drugs are you on? The Chinese have been known to be good firearms makers in the gun market.
EDIT: Do your research before you comment on things you don't know about. Also all SKS are military models unless it Chinese import models such as a SKS m and paratroopers. One more thing what is a *real* SKS in your definition? Cause I would like know.
*****
I know the Chinese didn't designed the SKS rifle but many Early Chinese SKSs were Sino-Soviet such as the Type 56.
Dorito shooting too stronk
Might have been mentioned already. The video screenshot/cover image/whatever is of a PSL, not an SVD Dragunov. PSL isn't in the game. The PSL is based on a lengthened AK-type receiver. SVD receiver is entirely different. Just thought I'd mention it for accuracy.
I'm glad someone else noticed. I scrolled through alot of comments looking for this one. Good eye man.
SKS with iron sight= god
+ManILoveMaPS4 dude those ironsights are sexy
+rileytyfy IKR
BF1 HYPE
+Aaron Atwell it looks pretty cool like that, old school...
if you do it right you can snipe people with the USAS 12, it has to be the thermal one though. (at least for me, I have also only tested it in the firing range)
Level cap is the type of person to hear cod 4 being remastered and wonder when bf4 will be remastered
The RFB has always been my favorite dmr and it seems like I'm one of the only people who likes it :/
I like it cause it looks like halo dmr
I usually went with the SVD and the SCAR MK 20 and stuck to long distance stuff. It was really nice going up against actual snipers, because if you used cover and concealment well enough, you could consistently take them out without giving yourself away with bullet trails and the ridiculous scope glare.
Also, I REALLY hope they do away with bullet trails in BF1.
I'm thinking of getting bf4 for £8.Is it worth it?
yea
yes
Yes. i do beleive if your playing on xbox live rn you get the dragons teeth for free also.
dragons teeth is free on ps4 as well.
+Harry Carvin and this week final stand is free. I just downloaded it
Not sure what level is talking about when he said that the scar's accuracy returns to normal faster than the mk11, they both return at the exact same rate.
anyone else here in 2020?
I like using the rfb suppressed with a red dot sight and the 2x magnification scope with angles for grip/stubby grip
just above 10 minutes, how unusual.
Yet it's nearly hitting 11
J&N WILD you mad bro?
Nope
J&N WILD okay.
Yeah, but that is not how they are supposed to be used SidewayzNZ
why can't you full auto?HAXIOMATIC
+DeltaWolf1000 I understand that but level is trying to appeal to the audience and most bf players rush and want to know the fire rate
After having mastered the MK11 MOD 0, I found the RFB was amazing for accuracy. I am currently mastering the RFB.
+Michael R. Foreman favorite dmr in the game
The statistically best DMR in bf4 is the Mk11 Mod 0
easily the best dmr when you put the right attachments on it.
what are those?
almost 5 years later, and it still feels like BF4 is in beta
Strange Lev didnt mentioned m92 emr.
Because there's nothing special about it
thanks for the updated guides, they are super helpful!
Never liked the Acog scope, kind of hinders my overall view in my game style
+Jehan K.H All Chinese scopes FTW!
Same, for some reason i prefer the Russian 4x scope more.
Love that ur updating this series
Just do a video about PDW's!
Best BF4 SMG: UMP45
Best DLC SMG: MP7
WiZe EPIC // EPIC4reALz Wrong!
Best Non Dlc :Cz3a1
Best DLC : As val
Jeff Ridgway the skorpion is good, yet its recoil and damage are low. also, thats a matter of opinion. and if you know it, why are you gonna make him make one?
Jeff Ridgway also, the as val is pretty bad. i can see why people like it, but the mp7 has higher rpm, about the same damage, less recoil, and more rounds per mag.
WiZe EPIC // EPIC4reALz mp7 have much lower damage and as val is the highest dps weapon in the game
Lol he show dnt revive nobody
I never see people with medic class revive anyone...if I see someone dead I try to revive them even if I die which is stupid but that's just me :(
+Dandy same :)
:D
+Dandy yeah i try to go for rhe revive always because it saves teammates a death and there is really no con for teammates. A nice thank you everyonce in a while ups to reviving morale. I try to do the most for the team and keep my team alive even when it might cost me a death. The only time i do not revive is when im the only one with defibs in a group of 5-6 and going for revive means i die.
I like SVD12, heavy barrel, potato grip, target detector, FLIR. Use that in the support class with an ammo box and you have a long range perfect accuracy setup with infinite ammo. For short range I like the SKS.
I don't even own BF4 idk why i'm watching this.
Get it rn
GET IT
maybe it's just me but it's hard getting good with a DMR since everyone is running around with ARs and just lay down on the trigger when your in range...I run around with the SKS and SVD and they are really fun to run around with
hopefully they make dmr's exclusive to the recon class in bf5
Ha, wellllll. They are medic exclusive
2ritem8 and they are lit
RSC & Fedorov are all you need

Do we know what day the battlefield livestream is? I just hope it's modern or past. Leave the future to mass effect and halo. COD can rot in a hole
+franklin clinton I think it was clear that it would be past. They have released a future title already. Wouldn't make sense to compete with your own game.
+Interdit they also have past though, 1942 was their first game I'm pretty sure
+franklin clinton www.battlefield.com
If you mean the announcement, it's on May 6th at 4 PM EST
+BrawlerAce thanks man:)
Hi Cap, I saw you on a Battlefield Server with LevelCrapGaming for pseudo, this was you ?
Again a really good video :D
urgh DMR's, nothing worse than the sound of some idiot spam firing a DMR, inevitably using a FLIR optic towards you.
He probably spams 900rpm AEK all day everyday while getting owned by DMRs
Level, I was just thinking about how fluid your speech is, and was wondering how you did it? do you practice or write a script? I'm honestly curious, as i notice your speech is always spot on and you transition very well. for me i have issues figuring out what to say next when i try explaining something, and you're very well at it.
I'm here early
I also came early ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+A Beaver i like your style
+A Beaver bad idea
9:10 that 4 man grenade feed though. goddamn
The M39 is far more versatile than the SVD. Same accuracy, faster rate of fire, faster muzzle velocity and a bigger mag. It's recoil is not much higher than the MK11. The fact it didn't even get a mention makes it easy to see why some people think you give bad advice.
Time for another LevelCap drinking game!
Take a shot every time he says MK.11 MOD 0.
Have fun dying from alcohol poisoning.
that level cap logo in the intro was such high resolution! or is that just me??
SKS
PK Sight
Magnifier
Suppressed
Stubby
Secondary
G18 or M1911.
That's just me though.
i'll try that.
Yeah I do that too, it works well for me!
Try running a SR338 as a DMR. I had quite a bit of fun running that set up and it worked surprisingly well.
Video quality is looking a lot better! Did you get any new hardware?
I just ran iron sights on the SKS as I would always end up using it in close - medium range combat where I needed good awareness and little magnification. Now all of these updates with the buffs and nerfs I don't know what to put on my weapons. :(
the Mk 11 Mod only has a 30-06, the SKS has a 7.62x39, and the SVD 12 has a 7.62x54.
Mk11 shoots 7.62x51
What's your favorite DMR loadout?
RFB (PK-A, target detector, stubby grip), M1911, M18 claymore, XM25 dart, M84 flashbangs, survival, shadow
LevelCap has officially lost his inner flame.
that poor guy at 6:10 can't play bf4 because his wife be hating
Ha
From what I know (because I've used it) the SR338 is a better dmr than a sniper rifle if you can put a nice sight on it and work with a little so you know when to pull the trigger after each shot you'll out do everyone
I would really like to see the sidearms next because its something you use in every class :)
been going back to bf4 and idk y but the QBU-88 just seams to work for me. Yes the mag can be a pain but running it with an Acog and back up iron sights is so fun
There are three types of players in BF4:
1- A strategic guy, who never moves carelessly >>>> Levelcap is a good example.
Usually this type is not used to reading the mini map yet, I'm still learning to read it fast and respond faster each time
3- A New player who doesn't know what the fuc* is happening, in his/her case, usually their gameplay differs accordingly.
If you have a player type that you think should be mentioned, please go ahead and write it down.
QBU-88 will forever be my favorite DMR in battlefield
SKS is dominant with 3.4x or 2x and red dot. If I go 4x I run canted iron sights. Always at the top for any game mode.
SCAR-H SV is my personal best, got over 300 kills with it in just 3 days. maxed it out. it was also the first DMR I ever used, I bought the shortcut bundle because I couldn't stand the RFB
I kinda like using RPK12 as DMR. 4x scope, folding grip and flash hider, then burst fire from far away. I never run out of bullets :D
" This is my rifle. This is my gun. This is for fighting, and this is for fun."
+todd cabaniss But it does not compare to the other dmr's
