This movie doesn't just "borrow" from the Agatha Christie story, the infinitely superior And Then There Were None movie, a version of which was also made in this year (1945) but flagrantly steals the Agatha Christie plot premise of a group of people who are effectively marooned on an island and who are all alleged to have committed a crime. Thus it sank into a well deserved obscurity - the obscurity of the mediocre.

Interesting that they gave screen credit to a playwright. So it must have been the lady who wrote the play who did the copying. These days it is a pretty common plot.

@@letfreedomring7684 Yes it was based on the 1937 play Angel Island by Bernadine Angus. This is the first of the only three plays that she wrote, the others being Brown Sugar (also 1937) and Pie In The Sky (1941).
