The smart pot will work if that will be the permanent home once those small roots attached to the back it will be difficult to up pot it again without ripping the roots and destroying the tree
Tried these here in Fort Worth TX. I feel it just gets way to hot and these pots dry out way to fast. Forget about transplanting as you will have to cut the pot down it’s sides to get the tree out. My pots lasted but the handles break off within 2 years. I went back to plastic. Hopefully they work out better for you!

great video. phil this smart pot looks promising but trees tend to dry out and be unhealthy without a steady subirrigation setup supporting it
A drip pan should helped out a lot too
