one additional tipp: hold the assistant-bar in front of the basket in order to see how deep you need to push it in to reach the target typebar. Then use a duct tape to mark the spot on the assistant bar where it should reach the beginning of the basket. Then simply push the assistant bar in. Up to the duct tape and you will be pretty much exactly where you need to go without wiggling around and watch for bouncing typebars. The wiggling part can be a little hard on some typewriters, so I find this method more easy. Thank you for your great videos, Gerren! 👍🤩
Great video thanks. I am in Australia and need to source a replacement "P" typebar for a Smith Corona Corsair manual typewriter. Any idea where I can get one and a chaser bar from please? would love to get it fixed up. Cheers, Paul
Great video thank you Gerren

Very helpful! Any suggestions if one does not have a spare 'assistant' curved fulcrum bar?
Oh my, why didn't I think of using a spare fulcrum ring??? I've used wd-40 tube and its NOT strong enough.
Wonderful and excellent video but your voice is very low.
