I agree with your thoughts on her work. Both Finneas and Billie improve over the course of their work which is amazing. I too don't quite understand the Happier Than Ever album hate. Maybe people just had such high expectations after her Grammy wins for her first album that people convinced themselves that her sophomore album would never be the same as the first? Happier Than Ever is a great album. I think all of her projects are strong in vocals, production, and overall cohesiveness. I found out about Billie in late 2019 and have been a huge fan since.
