Fun fact: 13:09 2nd guy singing in heartsteel used to do LOL gaming broadcasts in 2016 aside his kpop group schedules and he’s always played ezreal and then years later they actually make him ezreal’s singing voice🥹 he was so happy about it
21:27 the last guy in the black team is Faker, the greatest LoL player of all time. That day he won his 4th Worlds. You've seen him in sooo many things already (99% animation) Most recently in Gods as pointed by few people. He's basically the face of LoL. O kurde tak sobie czytam komentarze, nawet nie wiedziałem, że Polką jesteś hahaa
I guess it is obvious and understandable why Ola decided to go for 2023 while it is still "hot".😉 However, the other opening ceremonies will go the right chronological way of course.👍 And yes, behind the scenes and making ofs will be included if available.😜
For anyone who doesnt follow the competitive scene heres the context: The video follows Deft's (from Korea) journey through his career. He and Faker (the guy with glasses in 4:25) went to the same school (not the same class but the video is figurative). Both of them started playing in 2013, meanwhile his team Samumng Blue didnt even made it to the Worlds tournament, Fakers team SKT (now T1) won it (the cup is in 4:58, btw, the characters theyre playing are Deft with Ezreal and Faker with Zed). In 2014 he made it to Worlds but lost in semis (5:15 He is playing Lucian and Pawn is with Jayce, that play actually happened). In the following year he left Korea to join EDG a chinese team. He would then fall in quarterfinals with his teammate Meiko (5:28 he is playing Sivir and Meiko Thresh) to a European team in Rekkles (playing Kennen). Deft would then sit back and get barraged by random attacks which is a reference to the same thing happening year after year. Then (5:47) it cuts to the 2020 run with his DRX (korean team) teammates Doran (as Jax) and Keria (as Braum and he as Senna againts Canyon as Graves and Showmaker as Syndra) the thing is, Keria is like his best firend and he promissed to do anything to lead him to vitory (6:00 he sacrificing himslef to make it possible), but even that wasnt enough and they lose in quarterfinals. The three of them left the team (Defr even left competitive) but later returned to DRX for his final year (cz he was going to do his mandatory military service in which a graduate male Korean student is forced to do). His 2022 run was his last dance on a team that struggled domestically. But barely qualifying for the Worlds as the worse team from Korea. He and his teammates had to go through so many champions of regions. In quarters (6:45) they won against EDG (last worlds champions) and in order to climb he (as Draven) had to defeat his ex-teammate Meiko (as Renata Glasc), then (in 6:57) in semis he (as Varus) had to defeat DRX, the koreans champions, who had 2 of his old teammates in Doran (as Renekton) and Chovy (Chovy was also on DRX in 2020). Finally (in 7:05) he (as you noticed, as Caitlyn) made it to the final, but in order to win he didnt only had to defeat an ex teamate, but also his friend Keria (as Karma), and he wasnt alone, cz Keria had Faker (the person who most worlds had won as Viktor). But Deft wasnt alone either, cz his team comes to rescue him in a final struggle to win (7:29 BeryL as Bardo, Zeka as Azir, Pyosik as Hecarim and Kingen as Aatrox) and make it, finally afther almost 10 years he could taste glory.
I don't know if you read about it or did your research, but as you may know, Worlds song's videos are always animating the story of the team/player that won the previous Worlds. In the case of Gods, the player you follow during the video was Deft, who was studying in the same school as Faker (the GOAT of League e-sport, and likely the most famous e-sport player to ever exist). And apart from the song that is already cool by itself, what makes it cooler is the story between Deft, who won 2022 Worlds against Faker, his former schoolmate, and against Keria, his former teammate. It was really an incredible Worlds journey this year and i was glad to see you react to the song and ceremony !
Am I the only one who realize that everyone else is climbing to the top to reach glory and the only one who jumped down from the top is Faker because he is already there
As many have told you, Gods music video followed Deft the pro player with a backstory you would find out of a book. Faker is shown throughout as they went to the same class but Faker always outshined him in League for a decade while Deft chased his shadow despite being exceptional himself. The video highlights important games in Deft's history and mirrors them. Worlds 2022 was a miracle run where Deft's team played the most games of any primary team. The final run of the video where he rises up shows Deft needing beat all his former teammates throughout the years to finally reach Faker, and claim the trophy from him in a similar fashion to how it was achieved in the actual matches. On the other note, the song you may have missed is Rise. A fan favorite, likely top of the list for most which also follows a pro players rise to claiming the trophy.
12:54, you can actually hear the break between each sentence, so while there's a "playback chore", singer still sing in the mic, especially at 13:42, if you heard the studio version, you can notice the desync, and the rap voice in this live is sooo "unfiller", unlike the studio one.
I stayed up really late and took time off work to watch worlds with my bf lol, it was quite delayed and off schedule too by like 45 minutes so it was like 1:45am before it finally started. I think there must have been technical issues because the sound quality was bad in a lot of parts. I did enjoy New Jeans though, I think they did really good for how young they are. My favourite was was Baekyun though can definitely see the professional kpop training in how he performs. My bf nearly started crying when they performed Rise, it was such a surprise to see it performed again.
I don't know if you knew about this yet, but Riot Forge (one of Riot Game brand for indie game) released "Song of Nunu" a month ago. That game is phenomenal for ppl that want to get into Runeterra world, and it confirmed to be fully canon in Riot new direction, take Arcane as guiding principles. I rate it at the best Riot Forge game.
Heartsteel including Kayn's part wasn't playback, they used a voice modifier (like in the original), later they used background support playback but still they all sang there on stage
@@StopMeOh no, you're right on. I think the performances were pre-recorded ahead of the live ceremony, it's not uncommon to record "live" performances ahead of big events. So they "sound" live (the "Puh"s from the mouth and stuff) and different, but it was recorded in a controlled environment and they were probably not in movement when they did it. Here there are many instances of clear lip-syncing, or they may be singing but it's not the voice we're hearing on the broadcast. I get why they do it, but like you I think it's a shame. I like your honesty. Many reactors just ignore that and pretend like it's not relevant (or don't want to alienate the viewers who are fans of league and expect only positive stuff). So thanks! I really recommend watching the finals teaser by the way, it's incredibly hype/the best one they've released yet. if you havent then you need to see Worlds 2019 opening ceremony because it was the most advanced technology wise and simply perfect. Also nice video :))

That is such a pity that Riot cut the ceremony video right before one of the best players introduction to ever happen on Wolrds so far. Caster Jun really left a great part of his heart on that stage.
