So I've been wanting to get goddess locs for a few weeks now and decided to check out the salon's website, as I also live in LA. They're charging $1400+ for this style. Fourteen. Hundred. Dollars. I understand this lady is the creator of this hairstyle but that's just fucking ridiculous.

True....BUT, the shit looks very, very nice and very, very real. Classy. It's not about the cost really when it's done so perfectly AND by THE creator herself? To me, it gets no better than that. The price is steep but if I look anything like that hair wise....nicca, I'm all in! AND they last up to 4 months? Sheesh!!!

Hey Love, just a side note, I've done the goddess loc style and it is definitely doable with synthetic hair. Using freetress hair and marley hair. I was given soooo many compliments on the style and for a very very VERY affordable price. So just if anyone out there wants a cheaper alternative, It's totally possible to receive these results with synthetic hair. But your hair is beautiful without a doubt love the edgyness of the shaved side, absolutely gorgeous.

BlessedByHim I just bought 6 packs of hair at my beauty supply store for about 50 bucks and I actually think I bought about 2 packs of extra hair just in case. freetress wavy hair and also Marley braiding hair is what I got
You are absolutely right. I wouldn't even pay $400 for this style even though it's beautiful! I installed locs using all synthetic hair and they weren't heavy at all.

With crochet braids,the key is Shampoo/wash, and air dry, or scrunch with a towel the air dry. I have always washed them soon as installed they get so light and fluffy, the better quality wool the softer and lighter it stays. If you cannot get human hair, get some synthetic Fro hair ( that is used to make fro's)get the fro hair to make very large fro's,then Skim them down, by taking very thin pieces and platt them down as you do the more beautiful and natural the look, and it is the same effect. If you cannot manage the thin pieces get slightly larger pieces of the fro and brush the piece until it straightens, or just use your fingers. This is such a beautiful style, with the shaved sides.
This is just gorgeous. Real hair always looks best. My BF got these done with synthetic and real hair. I think if anyone is going to try to recreate this look, they should at least get real hair for the base and wrap it with the SOFTEST kinky textured hair they can find. it'll still be more expensive than all synthetic but at lest you won't have those shiny ends that don't look real.

Erika Michele I didn't wash my hair, but you can definitely wash it. I recommend doing so

Looks like on the website it's going for $1400... she's aiming for more of a CELEBRITY clientele. The average person can't afford that. Gorgeous but way too pricey, not affordable. I would say invest and buy her whole kit so you can at least have the human hair but do the install yourself or pay a cheaper price elsewhere.
