Thanks for making this video, it was well done and certainly saved me from trying to decipher the micro diagrams in the instruction booklet. I think I am your two first views! Giving you a thumbs up and adding one correction that I noticed. The nylock nuts that come in the package perform the locking function quite well and do not require lock washers. For any other viewers I will add that my instruction booklet is from 2020 and the parts list does not include part “P” (lock washer) while the written instructions do. My guess is that they switched to nylock nuts in place of the lock washers and never fully updated the instructions.

Excellent point on the nylock nuts and that makes total sense! It did let me use a couple of those 10 million lock washers I had though too :) Thank you for the feedback and the view!

@SceneOneVideo it's interesting because it's not like this is a Blu ray player. This is for your shop and we will assume heavy things will be involved. I can't say I disagree with you! That oversight is really remedied. They'd be better off a short one page saying go online here and print most current edition of manual.

Thanks so much for making this video. I 100% agree with you that the instructions are not great, which makes it more difficult then it should be. Very much appreciated!

Great vid, very clear. Thanks a lot. In addition to the nylock nut that has already been commented on (eliminating the need for the lock washer), I would also add that the entire assembly would gain in strength if the holes in the plywood were the diameter of the bolt, as oposed to the diameter of the hole on the top plate, as to eliminate as much "slop" as possible. Apart from that, everything is spot on 👍👍👍👍

That's a great tip! Thank you for the positive feedback. I have my table saw and bench grinder with stand with 3/4 ply which has held up well since the build. However, if I ever rebuild I would certainly agree with your observation for the hole diameter!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I got one of these for a lathe. Looks like it will work nicely. Consider getting a pair of forceps (flat, not curved) for holding the washers in place while inserting the bolts.

You definitely don’t need a lock washer for the way this is set up with the type of bolt and nut provided. It’s just overkill and a waste of material. All in all great video.
