if people are motivated into learning guitar it's essential to find the base of interest for the individual player, a song that they're interested in, and learn it. once they accomplish that then it's easier to get them to learn more. good to hear you, merci. - I don't agree for acoustic guitar, it helped me forged my hand so then when I picked up the electric guitar it was much easy and I'm glad I learnt with the accoustic so I advice always to start with it!
Yeah and I already had to look up a few terms and band names. I did remember seeing Freaky Friday though and while I did not know that it was called "chicken picking", I at least had seen the method so I don't feel so bad. Just kidding. Good for you and the band on touring. I bet you are excited. Is that why you zipped so fast between the video segments?? ;)
I also think it is really important to have a teacher. If it is too expensive for you (it is for me), you can just take lessons for a while, then learn take a break and just take lessons online, based on youtube, or online course, and after a while, go back to the teacher for a couple of lessons. you could also just go every two weeks, ask the teacher to give you assignments and just use the lesson time to check your process.

I started with and still have a Spanish acoustic tuned for a ZZ top sound w/a cheap electric pickup but you motivate me to get a real setup and learn to cover your songs (Bad Luck Blues). you say it's not your thing but I think any real blues by BB King or John Lee Hooker would be a great sound for you... obviously anything Stevie Ray Vaughn would too, Keep rocking and I hope you make it to the US (Chicago or Tampa). 🙏🎶🎵🎸

💞 I learned to play with a Nylon Stringed, Spanish Acoustic Guitar first, the nylon strings are easier on the fingers than steel stringed instruments. However, other Guitarists advise - moving on to an Electric has soon as possible. The Acoustic Fretboard is much less forgiving for beginners, when it comes to playing notes in tune on the fretboard than an Electric Guitar. Young kids find Electrics much more fun and cool to play too. 💞
+1 on Banjo, not to much a fan of bliegrass though, but being right next to Kentucky it is still better than most the stuff out thrre.... i like heavy rythmic stuff and some of the bluegrass is just kind of fast and skilled
