I love how many of these are against great defenders like Anthony Davis or Ibaka. Aldridge has developed even more of a complete post game, as he relies less on the turnaround and fadeaway jumpers and uses step throughs, up-and-unders, and hook shots more frequently. Edit: Such a great left hand, too.
Having watched him for the majority of his prime years in Portland, I'd say the biggest addition to his post-up game has been his left hand finishes. Whether or not this had to do with his hand injury, or it was just something he worked out in the off-season, it has definitely made his post-game a little more unpredictable. His move on Kyle O'Quinn at 1:50 is undoubtedly out of Duncan's bag of tricks though.
I have arguments with friends saying aldridge played subpar last year and he wont be any better this year. He picked it up arguably during the most competitive part of the season (against the thunder WCsf) and thats where we saw him be finally at ease and comfortable. Now that hes comfortable and at a peace of mind with his role, this season hes just going to tear everything up. Watch out for the spurs man
One of the “what ifs”. Imagine if Kawhi never left SA. I felt Aldridge chose the Spurs during his free agency in 2015 knowing he would be pairing with Kawhi in his remaining career. That 2017 season where Kawhi got undercut by Pachulia changed everything for the Spurs franchise. That Aldridge-Kawhi would have at least won 2🏆
I see his arsenal is organized in this video, section by section focusing on one move at a time. It's good for studying, but for entertainment, I would prefer to see it all mixed up to keep it interesting. Good video & long live L.A.
It's interesting to examine his tendencies. Likes to be on the left wing. If he can back them in, then he likes to use a hook shot, or running hook, or up and under. Otherwise, he does his fadeaway, which is always fading left. If he's on the right ring he usually does his fadeaway. I think his movements look very mechanical and rigid, but they're still effective. It's not fluid like Hakeem.
Richard Tuon i think its cause he doesnt have the ideal weight for his body he could maybe lose 10 or 20 pounds and he might be more agile like hakeem idk
@@smh02 I think his weight is a plus, he could back down most centers and doesnt easily get turned off balance by the opponent. His center of gravity always stable
Same here : Patty won't be here long. He's likely looking for a Starters Role Max Money the SPURS won't give him. We should trade Mills n maybe Kyle or future Draft Pick for Jahlil Okafor
LaMidrange was automatic. He had a quick first step and his ability to face up almost made him seem like a SF in a center’s body. Every move had a counter and counter to that counter.
was lamarcus aldridge ever influenced by rasheed wallace in the post when he was a teen? i used to hear comparisons of his high-release turnaround jumper to sheed's, although that may just be because both played in portland.
If i haf to guess he mixed his game with a combination of Rasheed Wallace 40% Kevin Garnet 30% Hakeem The Dream Shake 30 % only no post hook shots rarely uses the Glass. Now that he's in San Antonio i think we will see more off the Glass shots take a Page or Two out Hakeem Olajuan and T.Duncans Post hook shot Moves n more Dunk Attempts he lays the ball up to much scared he getting blocked if he tryies a Dunk.
Nah. J. O'neal was with the Pacers and Sheed was with the Pistons. Z-Bo was with LA in his rookie season but then Z-Bo was traded and it was LA and Frye
It makes me so mad that he doesnt take at least 30 shots a game. Dude could easily average 30+ppg if he wanted to. All while shooting 50% from the field
the problem is he has no heart of a lion like manu, when kawhi left because of fuckchulia he was playing scared against draymond green he was bullied like a lil boy.
LA has really lost a step. Sure he puts up points but drains valuable time and misses shots he usually made. He's getting points but it will be 20 points on 25 attempts.
non related comment but the truth is this date was the the date when my first and the last girlfriend answer me yes ! we're together i will never forget it

spurs will make him a better defender
Yes, maybe is Timmy teach him a lots against those new move , previously he not much use his left hand ! For me he is the best price right now !
it's like Duncan never left.. tears*

He was suppose to be Timmy's replacement but that failed
Y u being gay foh
@@feisalabbasi9265 I mean he came to the store Spurs older

he was the perfect pickup for us
My favorite player. Nothing flashy, no secrets. All substance and fundamentals. From a knicks fan
Its actually flashy compared to most big men postups
Hella flashy and entertaining in my opinion, so is Timmy. Never understood people who thought it's boring
This dude got every post move in the book. Better than AD's game which is jumpers and dunks.
Bro really said AD's game is jumpers and dunk.
@@WhoAreYou905 to this day AD doesn’t have the low-post repertoire that LA had
Bro ar u drunk? AD have a good offense and massive def.. Aldrige just good aff
He was one of my favorite big man and low post player beside Hakeem, KG and Pau Gasol. His turnaround fadeaway shot is un-guardable
I enjoy watching him play so much. My favorite

Right you were.
Been waiting for a decent compilation of him for a while. True talent.

Jab-fade over the right shoulder is nasty.
Very patient in the post. Has a great left hand.
Im gonna miss this guy :(
My favorite player to use in 2k
How do you use him
Emmanuel Abreu ya gotta learn the post 🤷♂️
he has great footwork
The last of the breed. I hope Ayton could get his facup/postup game to this level
Gosh I miss watching him play. Giving these top bugs buckets all day

love watching this dude play man this is my kind of basketball lol
Spurs legend
Realistictly whos been better post player for a big this year? No one
The description is amazing!
I love the quality's of these videos when they come out keep up the work
Anyone here after the Nets trade?
beautiful
he seems so stiff and inflexible but his skill is amazing
not as stiff as your free throws lol
WWWWWWWW
Its not stiff, he has solid core and center of gravity
LA retires from NBA on 4/15/21 due to irregular heartbeat.

too bad he doesnt do this often anymore. Now, the spurs basically have 2 old big men who prefer shooting mid-range jumpers (gasol is the other)
I'm still hurting
We be fine next year
Sweet move!
This is absolutely the dullest clip I’ve ever seen. 90% turnarounds.
But I love the beauty he made
We need you to stand up for Game 3! #GoSpursGo
Best post up player in 2k
I want the spurs to get jahlil so bad
Same here : Patty won't be here long. He's likely looking for a Starters Role Max Money the SPURS won't give him. We should trade Mills n maybe Kyle or future Draft Pick for Jahlil Okafor
It would probably take Mills Kyle and a Second or Maybe even a first...The Sixers are known for gauging value from their assets
LaMidrange was automatic. He had a quick first step and his ability to face up almost made him seem like a SF in a center’s body. Every move had a counter and counter to that counter.
Hes like Tim Duncan with Rasheeds fadeaway
很少看到此人像邓肯一样在篮下拿到好位置,经常是Mid-post顶两下翻身跳投,能把人弹开但是顶不开硬桩子,开拓者常年西部老六的原因
New title. Aldridge vs Ibaka
imagine giannis got his post move and shooting
He doesn’t need too, he’s phenomenal enough without it.
Can you do another defense video for draymond or klay they've been beasting in the playoffs plz thx
This is only with the spurs...if you added what he did in portland...dam and wow!!
É muita técnica.

+ReCharredSigh He has mentioned both Timmy and Sheed in the past as influences on his offensive game.

That was his Mentor in Portland
Might be dreaming but I remember Portland had Rasheed, J.Oneal, Z.Randolph, C.Frye n LA all on the same Team
Nah. J. O'neal was with the Pacers and Sheed was with the Pistons. Z-Bo was with LA in his rookie season but then Z-Bo was traded and it was LA and Frye
Maybe he learned his post game in college
His pump fake is a thing of beauty. To me, he is the closest that we've seen to Karl Malone since he retired in 2004, both in size and playstyle.
better footwork than TD to be honest
I forgot a time where both Aldridge and Duncan shared the court actually existed. Too bad Duncan was already getting old.
It makes me so mad that he doesnt take at least 30 shots a game. Dude could easily average 30+ppg if he wanted to. All while shooting 50% from the field
whos here after aldridge and the spurs part ways?
where's this aldridge now?
This is how Wemby should play. Stop playing like KD and start playing like Lamarcus!
Lemme just waste 12 seconds posting up 😂
Remake plz
Do one for Dirk Nowitzki.
Welcome to Brooklyn! Ain’t no double teams coming😂
He retired
Hes not Tim Duncan, He IS Tim Duncan. *(But kind of can't bank shot but its all good)*
😂
I’m about to punk everybody on the court tomorrow and I’m 5’8 155lbs.
The second coming of Tim Duncan.
how is he the second coming of tim duncan if hes past his prime
hope he stays with the spurs
second greatest big man ever after demarcus cousin
Dwight Howard can learn alot from this guy
IBaka getting cooked the whole video😂😂
Lil Tostaca dead ass💀💀🙄
Serge Ibaka disliked this video
Lamarcus hungry man ALDRIGE. All you can eat elbows in the post
He’s like diet Tim Duncan
"Well defended by harden"
I think it’s safe to say ibaka can’t guard LA
Dude gets no foul calls lol
1:56
tristan thompson please
Isnt 2:04 A travel?
that move against Davis was a pretty blatant travel
lil sheed
Travelling ??? :/ 2:00 ??
jonnie manzano no :/
