This is great. Thanks for making this tutorial! I have the entire Mame library as of Mame version .110, I think. I kind of stopped trying to keep up after that though. This will be fun to play around with.
Liked the outro "Love ya to bits". Lol. Thanks for sharing the process "Big B". I always wondered how that was done. I hope that you and your family have a great 2014.
Thanks a lot for this! Tip: If you cant playback use "audit" to read the roms (I know you said it in the video but nevertheless). Works really fine. Love the Super Wonderboy Monsterland Soundtrack.
so I pointed to the my roms directory scanned and it did detect roms but the when I click to load them it it justs says "error roms missing (name of rom)" which is bs because it showed up in the first place and was not x out also I know the roms work in mame I'm probably doing something stupid but I need so help.
I don't get it, The roms there it works and m1 clearly sees it as its not marked with an x but every rom i get. "M1 core returned and error ROM load failure: H:\Mame oms\lastblad.zip ROMs are missing: lastblad.zip"
Everybody needs to know this now this is very good info if your doing this Import raw data at 8Khz do not speed correct, you are not setting sample rate for quality, that is for speed, if you want project sample rate to be 44.1khz, when audio is open in audacity, go to project sample rate at the bottom right corner, change to 44.1khz, mix and render it on the track setting, then click on your track on the arrow and change bit rate to 16 bit Save it as u want Ive seen multiple people say to speed correct, as an audio engineer, thats stupid and your fixing the problem incorrectly, most of these games are japanese with a completely different hz setting than ours, remember that
i'm trying to get jurassic park to work. it doesn't show up. on either mame or m1 bridge. i know mame works because i can play ninja baseball batman on it any time i want. i just cant get jpark or NBB to work on m1bridge.
Hello, I have a sf2.zip file (Street Fighter 2), but it seems that BridgeM1 won't read it when I try to load it, it keeps saying; "ROM load Failure: sf2.zip" "ROMs are missing: sf2.zip" I'm sure I have it, but maybe there is some other folder it must be in?
Being a capcom game I think there is a capcom bios you're missing. You can find mame bios packs pretty easy. Google "mame bios pack"...find a bunch and throw them in the roms folder just like roms. Should fix it.
make sure you have the latest m1.xml from Tafoid (he keeps it updated with mame) and also make sure you have the List Pack...its the actual song list for the bridge UI. Its prob what you're missing. its on the M1 Bridge page
The procedure entry point m1snd_run could not be located in the dynamic link library. C:\Users\\Downloads\BridgeM1_060a7\bridgem1.exe Please help me. I'm desperately in need for this app.
The problem with doing this is that it only recognizes _synthesized_ sounds, and not _digital_ sounds. I found this out the hard way, when I was trying to rip sounds from NARC.
Hello: I have a question. I want to rip pinball music but when I play it there are no drums. It is just a melodie without drums. Do you know what is the problem and how to play the full version?
Does this work with MIDIs, though? I have been trying to rip MIDI files from Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (which, btw, is a arcade game) with VGMTrans, but I cant really seem to find anything, nor anything for X-Men: Children of the Atom. I dunno if its because that Cadillacs and Dinosaurs uses the CPS1 chip (which, IIRC, is based around FM synth, and those are unrippable on VGMTrans AFAIK) or if VGMTrans isnt the program for this, but still.
So I downloaded the program and it's very smooth, all with the exception of I can't find the "wave" folder that has my recordings. Do you have to create a wave folder or does the M1 program generate one for you? At this point I wonder if my recording even registered I can't find them on anywhere on my hard drive.
Hello, I want to record OST from Time Crisis, but it only goes up to 255, and all tracks are from 270-298, and I can only get some of the tracks, how do I fix that?
Smarty Official If you use the command line only part (Not the gui) you can go into any block of any rom. So how the gui one works is there is a XML file that someone listed the known blocks etc and it acts as a pointer and lists in the gui etc. Not all roms are there so the command line is basically just stepping through each byte of a rom you choose. Once you map it all out you can submit to the list if you want to make it easier for others in the future.
I noticed in your 'waves' folder that you have NARC sounds. Could you upload/send them to me somehow? I really want to use some of the voices as samples ("We got it", "I give up!", etc.), and I haven't been able to obtain them using your method.
@@tjams3 hey, just here to let you know, I poked around a bit in inspect element and found the download link, if you still need it, here mameload.mameworld.info/m1xml20160629.zip

Ransu The Young Mgtow you could for instance: chop the sample up into smaller bits, change the pitch, play in reverse, add effects, etc so that it’s the original sample not recognizable
MAME actually has a palette/tile viewer built in and then you just screenshot what you want. F4 then hit "enter" bam you're browsing the tiles. use arrow keys and page up page down to find what you want...then use Alt+PrtScreen to take a screenshot of it. Hope this helps.
ginabobina101 lookup the key commands for MAME specifically under the F4 section. There is a way to cycle through the color palette I think the keys are [ and ] to cycle but double check because there are more options. Also if you have the video up from anything but default resolution or if you have anti aliasing on it's going look whack!
***** I messed around and changed the color pallet and finally found working ones! It's crazy because each character has a different color that is the correct one, so I have to keep changing it. Also, it looks like I'm going to have to put them together like puzzle pieces or something. This should be fun hahaha. Thank you SO, so much for your help!

They just dump into the root of your mame folder unfortunately. I move them afterwards and make sub folders for each game by hand.
Last time I tried it nothing appeared in my Mame folder. I'll try again and get back to you.
+Wallcrawler Did you get the WAV to dump? I'm having the same problem... my MAME rips with Bridge don't show up anywhere...
