    Great job on your reviews good Sir! Yours is like one of the most unique review channels that I've seen. Ever. Not too flashy and hyperactive. Just calm, clean and articulate way of explaining things. It's very calming.

    What file system was the drive formatted to? These drives are discounted right now, but I'm using a MBP M1 Pro and am trying to figure out why there's a bottleneck on these machines.

    Curious how a Crucial X8 compares to Samsung and Sandisk...the Crucial looks to be a bit cheaper in price.

      Crucial M8 uses QLC and has no DRAM cache, I have a 2TB model and it apparently does a trick with pseudo cache and uses some of the QLC storage as SLC "cache", so it starts off well but will slow down as this cache fills up as its slower writing to the QLC storage.

    Hi, did you notice usb-c on this SSD is not firmly plugged when you use the cable comparing to other USB-c ports (computer, smartphone, etc) ?
    You can remove it so easily that you need to be very cautious not to move the cable while transfering data.
    Don't know if it is mine or if it is common on the T7 Shield. Could you plus check yours pls ?

    Got this for my 256 GB SSD Lonovo IdeaPad 3 laptop to play Steam games. Really fast game loading so far and like how it doesn't slide around on the desk.

    Really informative Lon, if I can ask you: Will my 8th Gen iPad with it’s lightning jack recognise this? I’ve had so much trouble getting it to comply with any external SSD’s and I am presuming its down to the lightning port. Thank you.

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  Год назад

      I don't think the lightning equipped models can supply enough power to these. It's really limited out on the outflow for peripherals. You might have better luck connecting a powered USB hub first.

    I have had a horrible experience with Sansung T7 if you leave them w/o using for a few weeks/months. The write speed goes to near zero, below 2 MB/s. I has this problem with ALL my T7 shield, WRITE speed BELOW 2 MB/s, and the speed does NOT improve with time. However, the READ speed is OK. I bought all of my T7 at different times, and from different stores. This is terrible, how can a SSD have this flaw? Is there anything that can be done ? Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to back up my HP Business Model PC. I'm not tech savvy. I plugged the Samsung T7 to my laptop using the USB-C and USB-A cable. Now what? It doesn't appear to be doing anything. I did follow the installation process.

    My computer wont recognize my samsung t7 shield drive. Honestly pretty pissed, i cant find any thing online that has my exact issue and tech support just straight up didnt know how to help and told me to try it on another computer and ended the chat.
    My issue is my computer makes the dinging noise like a drive is plugged in but doesnt show up in the drive section, and the only place i can find the drive is in the devices and printers section in the control panel and the device manager but no where i can actually open the drive to get the footage off. Anyone know how to access it or at least any ideas? 🙏

      I have the same problem. Trying to see if anyone has the same issue. I bought 2 of them, and both of them were like that.
      Both of them are dead now. It won't read the disk and doesn't show up at all. I bought it about 3-4 months ago.

    I'm thinking of getting the T7 Shield.
    My computer is an HP 17" laptop which:
    1. Has USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports
    2. Will soon have an internal SSD (a Samsung 870 EVO 2.5 SATA drive)
    I've read that the T7 Shield is an NVMe-based portable drive. Would it still be compatible with my computer at that point?

    They should just make them in bigger sizes. The size of games now have skyrocketed. Really 100gb games.
    Nice 10tb would be nice or larger. Harddrives are annoying. Can be load and slow.
    I was thinking in going octane.

    • @demon6937
      @demon6937 2 года назад

      they could make it bigger but won't be affordable for the common folk besides not all gamers will buy ssds.

    • @vkobevk

      100 gb game are still rare, but multi dozen gb are more common, but you are not supposed to store your game on your ssd, but on your hdd and only use your ssd to run game

      10TB SSD, yeah, you’ll have to wait a few years for that. At least to be able to afford it for gaming purposes.
