I grew up on East Oakland as well in the 1980's and i remember riding these old school Gmc Buses all the time i remember riding the 82 going up E14th st and riding the 40 up Foothill blvd to get to the Eastmont Mall the memories. I remember these buses smelling like diesel and being hella loud how have times changed.
Damn this brings back some serious memories!!!! The Bay Area in the '70s was a magical place, and these buses were a part of that. I can just smell that diesel exhaust now!!!!!

i wish the uk had these in the 70's/80's fuel was cheap back then. all we had was BL. although BL did make a good bus leyland national. its an north american icon.
