Nice . I just build one today with old 160 honda gc and older easy go . But im motor was on a differet way . The diff was like one a car where it ponits froward . I gear it 12t on the clutch and 10t on the diff shatf and it only 16 mph and very slow take off 😂😂. I think it need 9 hp or more instead of a 5 hp

Just a sprocket, pressed the windings off the shaft. Not too hard as long as you have a press. Clutch is on the motor

Okan I've been looking into doing this. I have a few questions. First. The rear differential. So that twists and goes up and down with the suspension. How do you keep the chain from falling off with having the engine mounted to the frame? I saw some guys box in the rear diff and run a plate off of it for the engine that does not connect to the frame. But that looks like a bitch.
Secondly. How did you get the wire and shit off of the motor to get the gear on that shaft? Or is that a different shaft you ran in the electric motor housing? I need to know you did this. Love the idea.

Hi. I've watched your vid a few times as well as others for research on mine. I put a tao tao 125cc with reverse in a 1997 Yamaha G1 leccy cart.
I also pressed out my leccy shaft and I welded an 18tooth sprocket.
Last thing to do before I can drive it is to remove the leccy motor again and figure out how to keep the housing case (top to bottom) together and then bolt it back to the differential.
its raining today so I can't mess with it... so I thought I would ask how you solved this issue?
otherwise mine is ready :-) your vid was an inspiration but I wanted leccy start and reverse
golf cart speed was the goal here so I think watching yours I will be pleased
    cheers mate

I just picked up a old beater cart with a rebuilt electric motor but no batteries for $100 I was thinking about putting a golf cart gas engine in it but they cost way to much so I started looking into the 13hp engine from harbor freight but if it works with a 6.5 seems even better I'm not looking for anything fancy just to ride up and down the street. Have you thought about putting a torque converter in?

juan mireles the electric motor has an input shaft, the armature is press fit on a splined shaft that accepts the input shaft, and rides in a pressed bearing on the brush cap of the motor. You can split them and take it all out, then press or weld a sprocket on it. Easy to do. Used the old housing to retain the bearing.
