is there.......anyway to do a camera mode so i can take pictures of the cat without it moving it's head when i turn the camera? 😭 the cats are so cute and i wanna take photos;;;
There is no camera mode as such but you can change the aim mode (where the cat looks) by pressing the B key or in the gameplay options; the three options are the way the camera is facing (default), locked (from which ever position the cats head was in when the cats head was locked) and looking at the camera. The default is the way the camera is facing so the cat will always look away towards the direction of the camera in the default mode when you are trying to see the cats face. I'll make this clearer in the gameplay options and bindings menus for the full game. I may also try to change the default mode so when behind the cat, the cat will look in the direction of the camera and when looking at the cat from the front it switches dynamically to look at the camera as it seems quite alot of people are confused by this and do not know the direction the cat looks can be changed.
hey i checked out your demo and as a game developer; it looked like a really cool idea and i was excited to play the demo and the first death was really funny (thanks to the music and ragdoll physics), i think this has a lot of potential. but as i played i noticed the turn radius of the cat is big enough to kill me more than a few times. the height of falldamage/death is really inconsistent leading to my death over a drop i thought i could take. the jump automatically pushed me forwards, combined with the (understandable) lack of explorability and sometimes weird collision lead to the overall movement feeling janky and making the game feel a bit underbaked to justify the launch of a demo. regardless i found the game because of this demo and i really like the concept. i cant wait to see streamers freaking out over this game
There are certain areas where you will not be able to turn or it will be extremely tricky to do so and this is deliberate, this game is meant to be extremely difficult as it is a rage quit game and you will almost certainly die a lot. The jump is intended to only go forward, there should be no reason to be jumping horizontally or backwards, this most often would be as a result of the player going the wrong way and because of this they will likely die; the kitty sense is put there for this reason to show the player where to go. I agree the death height is a bit inconsistent and i've changed this a bit since the demo but again if you use the kitty cat sense it will show which way you need to go and where is safe.
@@jiltedgames ok, thanks for the response, is there a tag for that on steam? yeah i was trying to jump vertically up onto the pipe box just before the stairs and kept getting pushed underneath. i didnt see much use for the kitty sense, i did need it once but for the most part i forgot it was there, i know its hard to get players using an underlying mechanic without shoving it in their face but if this is such a concern for you, trial and error in playtests could help
@@TheRealGameCompany tag for what on steam? ye you'd have to either judge the distance correctly while jumping in a stationery position or move and jump correctly to land on the pipe box, what do you mean pushed underneath? lol perhaps that may have been your problem, the kitty cat sense is there for a reason, there are two separate tips which show up which tell the player to use the kitty cat sense, if they forget or don't want to use it that is on the player
@@jiltedgames for rage game. Youbknow the part just before the stairs with a slab of wood ontop of metal pipes you jump on to get over the wall that leads to the stairs. Anyway, I definitely believe that if a player forgets about mechanics it is because we as developers havent made it feel important enough
