Lots of precious comments here about this cover, time to lighten up methinks. Not the best choice of song, probably learnt it on the fly. Watch any of their recent singles or recent live clips then see if you still have the same opinion about this band. The most depressing thing about the LAV clips is how many views they get compared to ANY other of the artists' videos. Time to be a bit more adventurous people.
Some people really don’t understand the point of a cover. I can’t stand hearing people say “it sounds nothing like the original” that’s the entire point, there’s no point in covering a song if you’re not gonna change it up...

well Al Harper since you weren't around for radio birdman the sunnyboys the radiators the saints I guess all you have is the shitty clowns. enjoy it but leave the appreciation of great Australian hard rock and punk to the grown ups
well seeing that i'm 44 i feel qualified to say I do have an appreciation of seminal australian punk acts. The saints and radio birdman were might maligned in their time only to be appreciated by the broader music community after the fact. Is this not what you are doing to CLOWNS now - bringing them down instead of embracing new Australian punk acts ? Or do you just cling to the past? Rock Legend Tim Rogers of Youmai has stated that CLOWNS is "The best new punk band in Australia" Maybe instead of being a patronising, condescending old bastard, maybe you should look outside your bubble or leave appreciation of music to the enlightened and open minded youth.

I can only describe this as horrendous. Possibly one of the worst things my ears have ever been exposed to. A prime example of the failures of modern music....the skill level of playing is woeful. " Hey everyone, lets make as much meaningless noise as we can ! "

Well that was fucking horrible. I would have enjoyed a good punk version of this classic, but none of these guys can play. I understand punk isn't about musicianship, but when you cant even keep a solid straight 8 feel... Seriously, that guitarist, is it the first time he has ever played live? I'll put his sloppy (very sloppy) playing down to nerves, but really, if you are an established (especially punk) band, you should be past that level of anxious playing. Maybe spend less time fucking around with effects pedals and just nail the basics first?

They just butchered one of the greatest songs of all time. The sunnyboys would smoke these clowns out of the water. I have played in Aussie rock, surf and punk bands and have never seen anything as crap. What was with the boss digital delay??...fuck that. Worst playing, worst tone ever. Sounds like a new era Gibson sg (tinny as fuck) through a tinny amp with no balls. Real tone comes from real passion and a real amp (like a musicman or a pre cbs bassman) not a flimsy ballsack modern fender/orange. These kids are trying way too hard. The singer was horrible ( like the worst singer I've ever heard). I feel sorry for kids that think this is legit. How many $$ did you have to pay kingsmill to hook the gig? Please go and listen to some real punk like D.I , TSOL, Madball, Circle jerks, any 60s garage/psych or the Sunnyboys. I feel very sorry for any metal guitarists who accidentally come across this video. Real Aussie artists like Jessica Mauboy or Kasey Chambers are legit. These kids (like so many others hailing from the trendy suburbs of Melbourne and Sydney) are fakes. Yuck. #clownsdontsurf
