I just wanted to say thank you so much for having be a part of this collab. Means a lot to compare two of my favorite games ever. Both have something amazing to offer despite their flaws. And I was happy to share these opinions with a fellow enjoyer of skater games. So, thank you🙏🏿

bomb rush cyberfunk did so well in all honesty there needs to be a crossover jsf vs brc it really needs to happen i can't be the only one who thinks so
Both of these games are very near and dear to my heart and I'm so glad I've gotten to be there for the release of BRC. The lead up and hype for me was on another level and lived up to the hefty expectations I had set for it. JSRF will always be special to me because of how it's influenced me but I love both so so much and I hope everyone gets to play both someday!
I dumped hours into future. Wish it was playable on the series x. I would love to see these games be released in a collection pack one day. All 3 together would be great but it’s wishful.
I haven't played JSRF, I have played JSR though. I loved JSR's variety in how the characters felt, but I liked the more flowing movement of BRC. While I see how BRC getting rid of the spray can resource, I kinda liked it, it added a bit more strategy to how you'd navigate the levels.
You might actually want to try JSRF then. The quick spray mechanic isn’t as robust as BRC but hits a similar feeling, and you have different stats between characters that changes things up in different ways
tbh Shine's quest was pretty effective at getting me WELL familiar with the mall level. It extended my first playthrough's run time by like 30 minutes trying to remember the layout and place where she said she was.
I feel like just by dragging JSRF to modern standard measures, it wins by default. Without the first the other basically wouldn't exist. Like comparing morrowind to Starfield, one owes its existence to the other.
@@FalseProof Probably something like their other extreme sports game, Lethal League/Blaze. Perhaps based on a different sport other than skating/bmx... Snowboarding maybe, like SSX?
Even i never play jet set radio future and have played the gba version jet set radio and a demo version of the hd remaster of og jet set radio (hey don't judge me) i think both jet set radio future and bomb rush cyberfunk are both good games in their own right

If you have Discord just join my server so you can message me directly and I can send you a key for JSR HD if you want. @@FalseProof Heyyy, do you still have a Key for Jsr hd? I've been interested in the games so i start watching videos abt it, i've never played any of them but man ur video made me wanna play it more HSHAHA
Less of a critique and more of a compare/contrast. There certainly are things SEGA did to design JSRF that Team Reptile didn’t add to Bomb Rush that we think would have been good for quality of life from the get-go (outside of patches and mods) like better objective tracking, as an example (although that does improve a bit after patching)
@@FalseProofDude jsrf had bad tracking in hikage street a majority of the time. The 3D mapping was so two-dimensional because there were only two aspects on a 3D design which gave my eyes the illusion that something was somewhere else. So no I disagree and furthermore believe it is silly to say in the first place. Both games are just good.
@@TheAnxiousOwl I don’t think we disagree on both games being good. BRC is solid and a great expansion on the sort of subgenre of skating adventure games. It also does mapping much better. But there’s nothing wrong with comparing its inspiration from JSRF to what that game did either. Also as much as I like it Skyscraper District was way harder to navigate than Hikage Street
@@alpha-boss you could probably stretch it to 10 hours but yeah it’s not super long. Actually if you play console I would recommend checking out VideoGamesPlus, they have the game for under 30 on sale from time to time and it’s actually on sale now for the physical Switch and PS5 versions
I finally got to play JSRF recently after playing both JSR and BRC and I have to say gameplay wise, JSRF is the clear winner for me. I really do like BRC’s gameplay but it definitely has more flash over substance which I was a little disappointed by after playing for some time. JSRF’s physics based movement alone makes me love it more than BRC, it adds a lot of depth to the game and you can really take a hold of the map design to play however you want; it also makes the game feel far more smooth and fluid imo. With that said I have only played the first stage so I don’t know if I prefer the whole game to BRC but so far I am loving it. All 3 of these games are really fun and I can’t wait for the next JSR game.
My only personal complain about the BRC gameplay is that it doesnt run off of momentum like JSR does. I like how smooth the gameplay in BRC is but at the end of the day without the "challenge" of using proper momentum to your advantage the game felt very easy and a little stale after beating the game and doing a good amount of achievements. I feel like the gameplay itself suffers from being a middleman with being very close to JSR but not using momentum as heavy, if they took a few tony hawk examples and made the trick system more in depth then i feel like the entire problem would be solved. But as it stands, without mods theres a very limited amount of combos and trick chains that can be done so after a while I'm just not too interested in just picking the game up and skating around for points and score and style for a while.
I get what you’re saying, I do like moving around but I understand how it feels like you want a little more. I personally did want a bit more vert-style actions to do in BRC with half and quarter pipes
I like both, but it's interesting how much more moody and nuanced the lighting is in the 20 year old JSRF. Some of BRC feels a bit sparse and unlit imo
Here's a fun fact for all of you who complain about the price of brcf, in México the Game costs 400 pesos, wich roughly translates to a little over 20 dollars
The only thing wrong with both games is the same lack of moves. Unlike a Tony game we never seen the rollerblades taken as seriously. Bomb Rush board were to large with not enough in them.
Honestly even if the new jsr sucks I'm happy with bomb rush as a spiritual successor. (Not that I think it will) The only real gripes was the ever-present police that you ignore 90% of the time, or just go back to the hideout to despawn them, and maybe some menu-ing stuff, for example some tabs for your different graffiti and songs. Edit: Oh also the quantity of music, I loved the soundtrack don't get me wrong but I can only listen to ASS ASS ASS ASS so many times before I just listen to JSRL.
Whoever is sayin it is or isn't like the other is overexaggerating a lot. They are both very similar and the criticisms dissipate and dematerialize as I play both.

@@mdxclark9988 the interview with Dion Koster? If that’s what you had linked there were a few things mentioned that would lend to BRC being a spiritual successor, although inadvertently
@FalseProof That's the thing though, his other inspos were Tony hawk, jsr and other games or artists. People can FEEL what a game reminds them of, but that doesn't make it true. Because I love brc and when it was coming out I just thought as "jsr but better" but after playing it since September, I don't think of jsr when I play brc I think of brc when i play brc.
