Great tip Brad and Kyle! Yeah! Bowling Alleys need to move the ball return back into the pit/holding area... vice up on the approach... Again Great Three Step Tip!
I'm a two hander and used the three step "drill" as my actual "approach" for probably a year or so, before I had a bowling coach come up to me and tell me "That's not right!" I use a 5 step approach now, and my average, accuracy and ball speed have increased significantly.
I clicked the link twice now and entered the info. Nothing has showed up in my email or spam. Love watching your videos. They have helped me tremendously. I am also looking for a coach so I can tweak things even more. Thanks for all your doing.
haha I've had that frustration about the ball returns on the approach for years. I'd love if a center had them back further and the approach was obstacle free, line up on any board you want with no worries!
Been living the mid 700 game life forever and thanks to you guys I have finally tuned my release. 835 series, first one. Thank yall! P.s. I'm a lefty. 🤣
Assuming the pattern is the same on both lanes and you are in front of the ball return on the right, do you also use the three step for the left lane for consistency’s sake?
"Brad can probably do it because well, he's short" >Brad appears to be 3" shorter than Kyle :thonk: (EDIT: I just find it funny because Brad doesnt seem to be much shorter than Kyle)
I watched a men's ski race from Europe once and almost every skier was 5 foot 8 inches. Some sports shorter is better. I would like to see them arm wrestle.
o boy, im super late on this but when i step in front of the ball return, i actually still do a 5 step approach, i just shorten my steps/take baby steps lol
I actually started out using the 3-step approach as my normal approach when I first got into bowling. I'll go back to it whenever my timing gets weird, my hip starts to bother me, or the approaches get tacky and changing soles doesn't help.
I wiggle my toes and barely move my feet to simulate the first two steps. Then everything feels in sync. Harder issue is sliding towards the projected target area and figure 8 the swing to hit the target.
Hey guys, any idea on 3 step v 5 step what impact is on ball speed? I’ll assume you’ve used technology where you actually measure speed and rpm. Thx man and love seeing the House’s success! Let’s see the playoff points run boys!
J F if you have a relaxed swing (push away, drop, and down swing) then the speed of the ball off your hand should be about the same. It’s called launch speed. However, the ball HAS to slow down more to recover from steeper angles so it may appear slower on the lane radar which reads the impact speed. So launch speed and impact speed are different
Mike Akins thx Mike! My challenge is I’m older (47), then quit for 18 years right as reactive was introduced, then started up a few years back. What all this means is back then, back swings weren’t as fluid as today’s game and much more forced ;-). I’ll be working on it though! EDIT: the youth programs of today are light years beyond the “programs” we had in the 80’s. Then it was the good old “shake hands with the 2nd arrow” Hilarious in hindsight but more so impressive how youth programs have progressed!
Mike Akins right on! Fortunately or unfortunately depending upon perspective, I’m still highly competitive. “Life” gets in the way of truly being mega competitive but still enjoy a run out and hand slap. After the 18 year hiatus and coming back, what I thought I would enjoy the most was the higher level competition but realized it’s the people I missed most. As you know bowling gets a negative stereotype and it’s one of those stereotypes that’s just way off the mark. The people are some of the greatest humans from all walks of life. It’s what I truly enjoy about our sport. Best wishes man!
I feel like I need help with my grip. I feel like there’s way more strain on my thumb. I can’t figure out what position my ball should be in at the top of my take away..
Ive just started bowling 3weeks to a month ago, i found using house balls (waiting for my first ball to be delivered) i have a tendancy to throw backup balls, i find myself infront of the ball return a lot ( spare shooting i can get up the back and be decently straight and consistent ) Ive found since I started bowling, my natural comfortable approach to be a 3step, i average 30kmph (20mph) on a 3step with a 12pound house ball - is this something that could be problematic later in my learning, or should i embrace my comfortability in the 3step?
So kyle or brad which ever. Last year i was able to stand where kyle stands in the second game and was able to hook it. But now i have to stand on the 5 board and hope it comes back. any tips to help me get more hook on the ball?
It’s been done. The ball returns at the ITRC in Texas are off the lane surface. It’s an issue that doing so requires more space since the returns then jut into the settee area.

Keep in mind. That was 2 weeks ago. Just the video was released later cuz of editing and stuff. For example. Starting thursday they are doing the indianaplis open qualifying while the roth/holman doubles hasnt not even aired on tv yet. Schedule is usually 2 weeks ahead of the tv air date
I think you guys are hacked you said I just won a new ball and now it's costing me $72.00. For shipping then just received another message that says need another $200 for Insurance so much for free ball

I don’t think so I’ve seen the pros use the 3 step just on the right lane
Kyle Happy birthday, today is also my birthday, I really like the videos, greetings from Mexico
Happy Birthday Kyle!!
I used the 3 step drill all the time in high school practice it really helped me perfect my form
Glad you made this, I struggle when I get too far left so I throw a backup ball

I really could use some “consistency” drills for hand positions on release. Thanks guys.
Kyle, Shatila shops are they..?
Love them!
Very helpful
Really liking the videos. Keep up the good work. (side note whats that intro music?)
Belmonte beard is filling in finally 👍🏼
I have to use that for 10 pins a lot. Handy to have it available.
Love the editing in this video!

J F as long as you keep it fun and enjoy it, that’s all that matters.

That is what i was thinking. i think the Quote was " We are not touching a ball for a week!"
Does anyone know what the closest event will be to east TN? Is there one in Bristol or Knoxville?
So if you search PBA tour schedule you can find all the events and the alleys and towns they will be in

There are days I can do this perfectly, others where I can't...lol
Do any pro bowlers practice Tai Chi? It's all about mindful motion.

Delay Galaxy ...Have you had your ball de-oiled and surface sanded at all?
@@RGJ109 i got new quipment like 2 months or so after no i havent
how does this work for 2 handers?
Ball return aka
Kyle: this fricken thing
Brad: stupid thing
😆
What if you have a 4 step approach? Go to 2 steps? I never have to play that far left anways. So far at least.
If you have a 4, 5, or even 6 step approach, you are only doing the final 3 steps for this drill
Can’t someone build lanes with ball returns behind the approach....
TheVlad1616 that’s a waste of materials and is probably not efficient engineering wise. I’m a PE btw. 🙂
It’s been done. The ball returns at the ITRC in Texas are off the lane surface. It’s an issue that doing so requires more space since the returns then jut into the settee area.
TraumaER I assume that’s why no one did it (outside of training centers). Too much space/cost to help us bowlers...

is kyle the most attractive bowler on tour?
Bruh
No que no tocarias una bola en una semana?
Ball returns are the worst I swear, i always joke that when shooting a ten pin I have to matrix around the ball return lmao
Says last vlog: i dont want to touch a bowling ball.
Brad and kyle* Touches Bowling ball lol
@@darrinlindsey tis a joke my guy
Thought you guys wasn’t gonna touch a ball for a week 🤣🤣🤣
I like the content of this video but it has a really weird title for what's in it.
Do you guys give away balling balls and then charge to PayPal or am I getting scamed with a fraud account with your pictures on it

I'm only 5'10 and I find 3 step is not only helpful but believe it or not feels more natural. Also why does Brad always look like he needs to pee?
Brad's legs aren't as lengthy as yours.
Why do bowlers breathe in their thumb hole?
