In the U.K. Apple Pay is widely accepted virtually everywhere. Even small shops have it.

The UK seems to be the best out of all the places I’ve seen. I’ve been in London for almost a month now and still haven’t used cash. It’s much better than the states in this regard. Being able to take the tube is especially nice with contactless
Using Apple Pay is so easy, but not enough stores support it. Also, I’m in the US (Texas), and I just enjoy seeing what it is like in Dubai.

That’s just in the US (especially in the southern states), where lots of merchants still use magnetic stripe readers and in Mexico, where merchants often have the nfc reader turned off. In Europe, for example, 90% of the merchants have nfc enabled and you can use apple pay to pay them. Even in unsupported countries such as Portugal, Iceland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, etc. And the same happens in Canada.

In Germany Apple Pay is accepted everywhere Where Credit cards for just tapping on the Terminal are accepted. It doesnt have to say Apple Pay is accepted

Beastie Boys USA It’s the banks, not the stores, that don’t want to pay any fees to Apple. Stores don’t have to pay any fees to accept apple pay; all they need to do is make sure they are able to accept nfc contactless payment and then they can take apple pay too right away. Even merchants located in countries where apple pay has not been officially launched such as Mexico, Iceland or Portugal can already accept it from users who already have it set up with a supported card. Because of that, I have been able to use apple pay in Mexico at least since 2016.

Thomas Horsman Exactly. But often the sales clerks don’t know that and think they don’t take apple pay even though they have POS terminals that actually do accept it.
Here in Australia, Apple pay is accepted at every shop that accepts card payment. All our cards have something called "paywave" so this allows Apple Pay to work flawlessly on all payment machines!

During Covid 19, Apple Pay is now accepted almost everywhere in the UAE
This wouldn’t even be a challenge here in the UK! Literally have never came across a store that doesn’t accept it as of 2016. Even the tiniest of stores.😀

Apple pay may work well but being a Samsung user Samsung pay uses something called MST and NFC both which basically means it can be used in All the places 😎 where you would swipe your debit/credit card .Kudos to that :)

Did you even read what he said? Literally every store that has a card machine in it will accept Samsung Pay. Because of MST and NFC they don't need special machines. Any card machine will support it unlike its rivals.
The people who say this are the same people using a Iphone 6 in 2018 xD
in Switzerland apple pay works where ever card payment is accepted. So basically, they have a POS, it will work
to tell which places accept apple pay, look up the location on apple maps and if you scroll down to show if its like kid friendly, or pet friendly, it also shows the apple pay logo if they accept apple pay. also, on the terminal, theres usually an nfc logo or apple pay logo
Unfortunately the adoption of Apple Pay in Europe is really slow (exceptions are UK, Russia and Spain), most banks say they are waiting for Apple ...

It happened to me! My card was not accepted and I had to go to an ATM and get the cash! So embarrassing!
When you said "Hei Siri" in your car, I had my iPhone on charge near the speaker and my phone also opened Siri and I was "What the f**k?" , then I realised that the phone opened because of you. What I have noticed is that anywhere that has tapping capabilities has Apple Pay. Some places don’t even know they do.

At gas stations they will need to deploy wireless POS terminals. That’s what they did here in Mexico and it’s a cinch to pay them using apple pay. Even easier than in the US, where the card reader is usually on the pump and most of the time it’s magnetic stripe only.
Samsung pay works with ADNOC since Samsung phones are equipped with some older NFC version (as well as the new one) that Apple does not have. If I recall correctly that is.
Ahmed El-Alamy It’s not an older version of NFC, it’s an entirely different technology called MST (magnetic stripe technology). It allows Samsung devices to communicate with older, magnetic stripe only, credit card readers. No other company has that technology, including Apple, Google, LG, Microsoft, Fitbit, etc,, because it was developed by Samsung.
But that’s not the reason it’s easier to use mobile payments at gas stations in Mexico. It’s because they can bring the wireless terminal to the customer instead of taking away the card, and also many of the terminals do have nfc enabled. Because of this, I can use apple pay at gas stations in Mexico even more often than americans can at gas stations in their own country, despite that apple pay is not yet officially available in Mexico

I can’t speak for UAE or the states, but in the United Kingdom - contactless payment only works for transactions up to £30... I don’t know the price of fuel in Dubai or what not, but maybe there’s a limitation?
ItsShawJ you should call your bank if you want to be able to do transactions above $100. Same situation here across the pond in Canada.
In the US there is no limit. Payment is always authenticated by signature or pin (or electronically for mobile payments) so no limit is set by the banks.
You can make payments with a higher value now! I used it in Sainsbury’s to pay for around £80.

Sometimes if you tell the cashier you're paying with Apple Pay they might not understand. Just say your paying with "_____" and ask if they accept tap. Also, if you're trying to pay with Apple Pay you would place the phone on top of the reader not the side as most of the time the reader is on top.
You know Apple actually has an Apple credit card now so you don’t need to use Apple Pay anymore it’s called Apple Card

The main advantage of the Apple card is that when you use it and pay via Apple Pay, you'll get 3% cashback. So technically, you still have to use Apple Pay in order to take advantage of the Apple Card.

I was first entirely baffled by videos like this when I first saw them, in the UK literally everywhere even Transport for London (ie the Tube and London busses) and now a lot of busses in the rest of the country (Stagecoach comes to mind) take it, I use Apple Pay for everything and I don't even think about it, it's incredible, 99% of card readers I come across take Contactless payment and Apple Pay just works, it baffles me how far behind the rest of the world (especially the US) is when it comes to payment

Apple Pay has only been introduced in Poland 2 days ago and it is supported everywhere. You may be facing problems just because your terminals don't support contact-less payments at all. Here we would pay with our cards by just "touching" the terminal, therefore apple pay works out of the box everywhere :)

Apple Pay is way more efficient then Alipay and Wechat pay. Those two are QR code payment, its more slower and inconvenient. Apple Pay is NFC payment, it's so easy and fast. You don't have to open your phone and find the app and then find the QR scanner or the code. Sometimes it's taking forever to get code, and it's really frustrating and awkward. As for Apple Pay there's only one simple step which is put your phone near the register then Apple Pay pops up and you're good to go.
I think they use WeChat in China for almost everything even payments in a lot of places

NFC technology has been out for a long time. Most stores near me in the US didn’t start using it until the iPhone started using it.

I do Google pay, works just fine but I always have my wallet just in case. Especially when I dine in a restaurant and spit the bill with someone.

Jayjay 101 ummm its better because even in a place without nfc or only card reader it'll still works because it mimics the stripe in your credit card so the card reader "think" that the card that you apply on samsung pay is already swiped trough the card reader this thing called "mst"
