鄺博士的精彩演繹把十八日香港攻防戰清楚地陳列出來，攻守双方的得失也分析得明明白白，問答部分也能指出當時戰鬥的盲點。這是一塲精彩的研討會👏👏

Thanks for the info.
People who had lived through that period would not talk much about it.
I guess talking about it is to relive that period of bad experience.
The other reason is outsiders would not understand their fear, torments, desperation they had gone through.
Thanks for "The Story of Hong Kong Coastal Defence”, though I cannot share the emotional elements, I came to appreciate devotion of these people, mostly young, who took a boring boat trip to lay down their lives for a place we loved so much.

感謝海防博物館上載講座，內容很精彩。但有個意見想反映一下：我見到你們很悉心透過不同鏡頭去記錄講座，但講座中很大部分時間鄺博士是透過螢幕（地圖或ppt）去表達，但我不明白為何總是要急不及待地轉回講者的大頭畫面，此舉讓人懊惱，因為講者其實多次用滑鼠箭咀指示地圖但鏡頭卻跟不上，既然已有雙畫面並列的格式，請保留內容螢幕的放送，講者的全大頭畫面可意減少，對我來說，我寧願全是內容畫面（後期製作功夫更少），因為講者的聲音和內容螢幕的資料是最重要，講者的大頭可以作為輔助。再次感謝你們的工作。

曾經訪問曾參防衛香港華人長者, 早開戰前已察覺, 很多日本人在香港, 郊遊/釣魚等活動中, 搜集香港守軍建築位置, 可惜或教授, 以年紀未能接觸仍身體健全可細心憶述戰史-防衛華人長者 ;
非要搵外藉軍官長者知最多, 當時接觸市面最能察覺-日本間諜人士
高添強先生講述最精彩, 因應年紀及他接觸曾經參與抗戰長者, 親身由長者口述歷史中, 帶出戰事給現在香港人感受, 使社會更受關注！
再發展有關剛發現文獻...太多！

2. Communication was limited to wired phone, once cut by enemy then out of contact, officer were on there own.
3. Invasion came after dark using boats from closest point to Saukiwan, not easy to judge situations.
4. There was a ship stationed at Hkg harbour, but took all white people, bankers, non combat person to Singapore for safety reason, assuming Japanese won’t go there.

1. 1950 Canadian soldiers were new recruits age between 17 to 25, none of them had any battlefield experience, during several weeks training, mostly receive basic knowledge of solider without limited firearms practice. Small bore rifle was used not the standard.303 Lee Enfield rifle. Those from Quebec speak French, need interpretation from colleague. Also told fighting with small Japanese as short as monkeys, war will end soon.

當年全香港總人口一定超越日軍人數，點解平民唔岀去幫手作戰，戰時啲平民當時做緊咩？
