How long after getting off of water pills will it take to get potassium back to normal?

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  2 года назад +3

@@jamiethompson3851 Not all water pills deplete potassium so I will be cautious in assuming low potassium levels because of a water pill. There are some water pills that are called “potassium sparing” and may rather cause an increase.
As to how quickly potassium levels will return to normal will depend on how low your potassium levels are to begin with and also how you are replenishing it. Through diet, through prescription potassium, that sort of thing.
Best to check with your doctor on how low you are and then develop a plan. All the best.

Thanks for this, it took me 15 months to figure out its low potassium. Blood work has to show very low before they detect it, by that time i was so depleted in my cells that I'm lucky to be alive! Shortness of breath, heart palps, fatigue, muscle weakness, brain fog. Not good but at least the Holy Spirit guided me to the answers because ER doctors dismissed me as having anxiety

I just went through hell for about a year. It started with what felt like 24/7 panic attacks. Nothing was slowing my heart down for months. Unfortunately the ER I went to treated me like a dog so I didn't get help for a very long time. Basically my whole body hurt and it feels like your heart can't rest and is working really hard. The ER and I quote said I was the problem and that it was all in my head. The crazy thing is my charts show my potassium was very low every visit to the ER. Long story short it took months just to get enough help to just make it through the day. Luckily my doctor finally helped me after I called for help literally weeping out of frustration and fear for my life. Now that a year has gone by yesterday a doctor gave me a phone appointment and the first thing he said was hey you have extremely low potassium. He connected the dots got me some meds and I feel normal after 24 hours. Now I will never go to the ER again. The doctors were the dumbest smart people and completely full of arrogance. One even said I can't use the ER as a hotel. Who the F says that to someone who's having constant chest pain and is scared out of their minds begging for help. Good God if you live in Bangor maine don't go to st Joseph's ER. If you aren't literally blown in half they don't give a damn. Oh and they locked me in a room for 12 hours because they kept saying I was a mental health case even though I never was. Don't let anyone treat you this way no person deserves it. It messed me up after all of that. I even second guessed myself and thought I was crazy. So yeah potassium go figure.

I went to the doctor and I siad I had anxiety, muscle spasms, heart palpitations he gave me Antidepressants
I went to the schrink and she talks about Pavlov.
I went to psychiatric hospital for 4 month because I couldn´t breave anymore.
I told them somethings wrong in my body.
I told them somethings wrong with my electrolytes.
I told them I don´t have an anxiety disorder I have something wrong in my body.
      They gave me more Antidepressants
      They gave me more Benzodiazepines
      That gave my more Pavlov.
I said to myself, I will do it myself.
I was on my bed for 3 months. I started talking suplements and foods with magnesium, kalium etc....
3 days and all my problems where gone.
I druk to much coca cola and I think I washed all the magnesium and kalium out of my body. Never mind what the cause was never mind how it works.
I felt better in 2 weeks.
No more anxiety, no more tiredness, no more heart problems no more sleeping problems...
It took my 5 years. Did the doctors a bad job? I don´t know....
But they don't listen, they just don't listen....

Also, in Dr. Jarvis' book Vermont folk medicine, he has an entire chapter about the importance of potassium He'san old school country doctor. He does nonscientific experiments with livestock and, observes the various things that children will eat in the Vermont countryside. Horses will chew the wood in their stalls, and all livestock are bigger and healthier when they are fed apple cider vinegar, which is a great source of potassium. Calf and human height is " shorter" because of the lack of potassium in the Vermont top soil This book is the first natural health book that i ever bought and if i had followed his recommendations, I would be healthier today. I am back on the apple cider vinegar.

This kind of illness that I have until now. I do not know what is the reason of having low potassium. Before it went so very low, I had a one day LBM on the next days I went to CR almost 6x a day for 2 weeks. I lost weight and from 60 to 54 I feel glad to lost weight and lessen my belly. After 2 weeks I felt pain in my 2 legs and on the next morning I can't stand even raising my legs was so difficult for me. When I move my arms up it cramped and after 7am it returned to normal. After another days it was more difficult because more severe happened I felt I am paralyzed I can;t move my whole body It was hard for me to breath. Again after 8am my normal body returned until I went to check up and doctor checked my blood has low potassium. Even I drink med symptoms returned. I drink pure tomato juice now. I can still feel symptoms but very lite. When you have this illness it will come back again and again.

Why can't we buy Potassium supplements that are adequate for meeting the RDA of almost 5 GRAMS per day ? A normal Potassium supplement contains about 1/2 or less of the amount of Potassium in an average banana. Eating some table salt, a banana or other Potassium rich food, and taking a Magnesium supplement stops my AFIB sometimes in a few minutes. I wonder why cardiologists don't recommend that for occasional AFIB more often ?

They found out the my potassium was really low, I had to get some potassium through my IV and my heart rate was high as well, the also put heart monitors on me. But I went because I was sick and have been running a fever but they said it was probably just a virus and they didn’t even treat me for it lol. 😂

I have done my ECG echocardiogram endoscopy and what not... Doctor said my heart was fine.... All the doctors are saying that I have in society and anxiety is causing me e these weird pains all over my body and specially my chest pain.. somewhat I was not ready to believe them... I I'm having extremely dry lips... It's sometimes even bleed when the skin comes off, kind of dry skin. And people tell me that I looked very unwell... I got my vitamin test done.... And my vitamin d level is 12.... Dr never asked me for a bit test but can my chest pain and other pain all around my body and specially my wrist and my feet can be a sign of vitamin d deficiency... Can vitamin d deficiency at a level of 12 be so severe
Also I have had breathing issues now a days... Strange tightness in the body. ... Lump in the throat feeling... And upset stomach... And I'm also having lump in the throat feeling.. can dis be due to vit d or calcium deficiency or iron or potassium bdeficiency? I have done my B12 test also which are normal.... Last month I had my ovarian cyst surgery for which my CBC was done but it was also normal... For now I have sent my samples for iron testing

There are differences for everyone. The potassium the sign i saw on constipation, says help. The items that help with potassium that stands to reason, the bratt or bland diet for the flue? etc. the bannanas the rice, boiled chicken. etc. the diet can cause constipation and restoring the bodies reduced potassium from vomitting or diarehia. the other potassium is orange juice that can cause diarehia for some people. everyone is different. if some one is mobile and can consume foods, etc. they can use the prune juice, milk of magnesia per the instructions and other things like glyercin suppositories, deep into the rectum so it is ot expelled too by the reflex response. deeper into the rectum gives the suppository the ability to melt and do its job. the other options are like the fleet enemas. that is one of the most uncomfortable forms. keeping the bowels flowing, is necessary in health. it used to be believed that when someone got sick they would use enema's, for any treatment, thinking they were cleaning the body out sooner. potassium slows the heart rate, which usually increases when a person has a fever or is sick. so it can be very dangerous also, as some people think taking alot of something, will help them sooner and that is not the case, vitamins are as dangerous as medications and is why people should be checked or have a primary care physician with the necessary tests, for theirr individual needs. there has to be the ability for people to do this. Cost, there are many ways to reduce cost. better health is thought to be more productive. I am not in a hundred percent agreement with th video above. However everyone has their opinions and what pertains to them per their environments, foods, etc. so medicine and vitamins, etc. are per areas, often times along with consumptions that are different needs for most people, as everyone is a individual. It is good to get a good base line, per the physician, for any individual, and have tests ordered done and read by professionals, trained in the medical testing that helps individuals, to get a good professional idea for their individual needs. There are many vitamins that compliment other vitamins. foods that compliment other foods, etc. and following instructions, allergies, etc. are always very important. again, foods can be as dangerous as chemicals, to some people, etc. everyone is different. there are many arts, many studies, and many that have been placed into different religions also per regions and discoveries, however all of which have a place in my opinion, in health care. that have proven out comes, per any art of medicine, that is what medicine, regardless of the different type of medicine, and art. in the constipation if a person ahs not gone to the bathroom in a day or two days, to start the regimen, and if it becomes a real problem to seek professional advise, at that time. i am not a dr. and can only lend my individual advise that many have their own opinions, and what works for them, may not work for others. etc. fibers and fluid intake, are also balances, and per conditions, of different individuals, anyone with a professional health care advisor has to consult their own health care professional advisor per their conditions. dehydration is a very serious issue especially during this time of year. the warmer months of the year. and everything is of course, cost contingent too.

Coconut water is the best..600mg in one cup. It blows bananas and avocados away. Spinach and leafy greens like spinach and kale. You can read studies on coconut water fun fact in wars, veitnam, korea they used coconut water for plasma during surgeries in emergencies when no access to pllasma. The no sugar added water has the exact same makeup as human plasma. Avocados nothing beats coconut water. Clinical studies show drinking it reduces blood pressure average of 14 points, better than prescriptions when people drink 16 in, 1 cups a day for 6 weeks. Good brands C20 and Amy and Brians...do not get coco via or coco vitait tastes awful

When you go to your incompetent and arrogant doctor, make sure that you ask them to do an intra cellular test on your magnesium levels because my lame female doctor said my blood work was normal from the tests done at the ER. Magnesium is stored IN the cell so a normal test won't work. But my tests weren't normal even though it said they were. I had fatigue, palpitations, thought I was going to die from taking Colestipol. My doctor would not order any specific tests until she would see me a week later. She knew I took laxatives for 2 goddamn years and the Colestipol. Also ask your doctor to do a nutrient mineral test
